Rabbi Schneider - You're Lucky You're Not in Control
TOPICS: Rabbi Schneider: Devotions, Seeds of Revelation

You know, the Scripture that I’m about to read and share with you, it really comforts me. From the book of Philippians 1:6, Paul says, «I am confident,» he says, «of this very thing, that he,» baruch hashem, he’s speaking of the Lord there, «that began a good work in you will complete it.» Aren’t you thankful to know that God that began a good work in your life is going to complete it?

We can trust him, beloved friend, to finish what he’s begun in us. Our dependency is on God. He’s the author and the finisher of our faith. I’m so happy that it’s not up to me. Aren’t you? If it was up to me, I would have failed a long time ago. If I was depending on myself to walk the straight and narrow path, I would have gone off the road many years ago. I’m depending on God. He’s our shepherd. He’s the one that keeps us walking the straight and narrow path. He’s the one that lifts us up when we fall. He is the one that disciplines us. He’s the one that’s at work in our life, both to will and do for his good pleasure.

I’m so thankful, beloved, that it’s all up to God; that we didn’t choose him, he chose us, and he’s going to complete for his glory the good work that he began in your life and in my life. Beloved, this should give you security in your walk with God. He is going to keep you and he’s going to finish what he began. in you. Bless the name of the Lord.
