Rabbi Schneider - Come to the Waters

Rabbi Schneider - Come to the Waters
TOPICS: Rabbi Schneider: Devotions, Seeds of Revelation, Living Water

In the book of Isaiah 55, we hear a beautiful poetic word through the Prophet Isaiah. Hear the Word of God. The Lord says to him, "Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost". The Lord says, "Why are you spending your money for that which will not satisfy you"? And then He says, "Delight yourself in me".

The Lord said in another portion of Scripture, "Why have you hewn out for yourself, dug out for yourself cisterns that hold no water, and on the other hand, you forsook me the fountain of living waters". The Lord is saying, "I am living water". Jesus said, "Everyone that drinks from the water that I will give him, that water will become within him a well of water springing up to eternal life so that they'll hunger and thirst no more".

So today is a day of calling us back into divine alignment. What are we searching for first in our life? If Jesus is just a hobby for us, we'll never drink of the water in such a way that we'll be satisfied. Jesus is asking us to forsake everything, to put all our eggs in one basket to believe that He alone is the treasure that we're seeking for, the pearl of great price.

So let me read it again. "Ho!" the Lord said, Isaiah 55:1, "Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters". Some of you remember that old little chorus. And Jesus said, come to the waters stand by my side. I know you are thirsty. You won't be denied. He's calling you, beloved one, to Himself, to drink of living water today.
