Rabbi Schneider - The Spirit, A Scientific Reality
You know, we can be motived by many things in life. Let me tell you what motivates me. The Gospel of John chapter 7 verse 38, Yeshua said there, "He that believes in Me, rivers of living water will flow from his innermost being". You see, we are not after religion, we are after this reality, God's Spirit is reality. He's already here and He's already now and through depending on Yeshua, we can drink of invisible, supernatural waters. Jesus said if you believe in Me, rivers of living water will flow from your innermost being.
I consider this to be a scientific reality. This is not just about doctrine, this is not about religion, this is about reality at its most fundamental level. The visible world is not ultimately what's real. The visible world will pass away. What is real is the invisible world that created this visible world. The invisible came before the visible. And so Jesus is speaking here about the scientific reality of the invisible world that you and I can experience in the here and in the now. Jesus said, "If you believe in Me," what does it mean to believe again? It doesn't just mean to say yes, I believe it. It means that we stake our life in it. We believe it so much we live for it. Jesus said, "He that believes in Me," he that lives for me, "rivers of living water will flow from his innermost being". This is a scientific reality.
When I look at my life, for example, over the last 15 years, it's amazing the transformation. People that knew me 15 years ago they say "Rabbi, you're not the same person. Your voice doesn't even sound the same anymore". What is the difference? It's that more and more, I've been able to go down and drink from these rivers of living water. Beloved, I want to encourage you today, whatever it costs, whatever you have to give up, whatever you have to sacrifice, follow Jesus. Seek Him. Put Him first and you will drink more and more from these rivers of living water that Jesus promised. Either His Word is true or it's a lie. You make that decision.
