Rabbi Schneider - How We Overcome
Shalom elechem, peace to you beloved one. I wanna read from the Book of 1 Corinthians chapter 10 verse 13. Then we're gonna look for some application. Hear the Word of God. The scripture says, "No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man. And God is faithful who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation He will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it".
What I love about this scripture is the recognition that regardless of how we're being tempted, God knows exactly where we're at. In other words, God is with us when we're being tempted. He's already here, He's always there. And just knowing that He's with us in the middle of the temptation, in the middle of losing your temper, in the middle of being angry, in the middle of having a bad attitude, whatever it is, in the middle of that, God is right with you. His feelings of love for you do not change. And He is going to give you the way of escape if you will keep clinging to Him even in the middle of the temptation.
Now you may feel that you are failing, you may feel that you know what, I'm clinging to God right now, and I'm looking to God right now, and I'm praying to God right now but I'm still sinning. In other words, my attitude is still bad. There's still words coming out of my mouth that I know are not in alignment with the love of God. But I believe that if you keep hanging onto God, keep praying through the situation, keep clinging to Him, God is gonna strengthen you through the process and you are gonna overcome. Because at the end of the day He is gonna perfect us, and He is gonna complete the work that He started in you and I, and whatever the temptation is that we're dealing with, we will overcome it and God will make a way out. It may not always happen just like that, there may be a process involved, but beloved, you and I are winners and victors in Yeshua.
