Rabbi Schneider - Ask God
In the book of Luke chapter 11 verse speaking to His followers. And this is what He says, "If you being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those that ask"? I want to first of all just touch briefly on the fact that Jesus is speaking to His followers and He says, "If you being evil". What I want you to understand is, you and I struggle with both good and evil that lives within us. Jesus said, "If you being evil".
We have evil within us, but beloved I don't want that fact to obscure the truth that you and I also have goodness in us and beauty in us, because we're created in God's image. I mean we see human beings do loving things, kind things, compassionate things, all the time. So although we struggle with evil and we have to overcome evil and we're cleansed and forgiven of evil through the blood of Yeshua and the Spirit of God, it doesn't mean that we're completely evil. We're just not at God's level. So Jesus said, "If you being evil, you that have evil in you, you know how to give good gifts to your children," He said, "how much more does the heavenly Father give good gifts to those that ask Him"?
I want to encourage you, this is the second point that I'm making, to believe God to answer your prayers. Jesus not only said that the Father would give good gifts, He also said He would give those good gifts to those that ask. Beloved, often times great things don't just fall on people from above. People often receive God's gifts, because they ask. Jesus said, "You have not, because you ask not. Ask and it shall be given to you". I want to encourage you, ask God to add to your life. Ask Him to strengthen you in His peace. Ask Him to strengthen you in His love. Ask Him to change your mind about things that you're thinking that are off course. Ask Him to work in your life so that you could experience Him in a more real way, that you could enjoy His presence more thoroughly. And I promise you this beloved, He will do it. Father gives good gifts to those that ask. And Yeshua said, "Everyone that asks receives". I love you. Pass this on to a friend. God bless you and shalom.
