Kenneth Copeland - Faith Demands Feeding on The Word of God
TOPICS: Faith, God's Word

Father, we thank you today for your Word. We give you praise and honor for the privilege of teaching, preaching and healing like Jesus. And we give you, we give you all of the glory. Lord Jesus, we love you this morning with all of our hearts and all of our souls, all of our mind and all of our strength. And we thank you and praise you today. In Jesus name we pray, Amen. Praise God.

Welcome everybody to the believers broadcast. Hallelujah. We're here with the entire student body of Kenneth Copeland Bible college. And we're excited about every, every one of you that are here. And of course this fine student body and I never dreamed, in my wildest dream, that my name would ever be on any kind of school, much less a bible college. Maybe a kindergarten somewhere. I don't know, man, that just wasn't in my sight. And of course that's different with my daughter Terri. I mean she dreamed of one all the time. And when it came up, the idea came up and we were talking about and discussing it, I got really thrilled about it. It's every believers calling, every believers calling to teach someone else what they know about Jesus.

Amen, go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature and those that believe be saved, and those who don't won't these signs will follow those that believe. Amen. So I just want to thank you all for trusting us with your future. And it's just such a blessing. And we were discussing this and the Spirit of God rise up on the inside of me and gave me a thrill that's, that's still alive in me today. And I welcome you this morning. Praise God. We're talking about the fundamentals of faith and we're talking about fundamental number one, which is believe it in your heart. Then say it with your mouth. As Jesus said, Mark 11:22, have faith in God or have the faith of God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. So that is the first basic fundamental of faith.

Now, yesterday we read from Romans 10:10. Let's go to second Corinthians 4:13 today, and the apostle Paul lays out this same biblical principle. In fact, he's quoting scripture and in the 13th verse of chapter four we having the same Spirit of faith according as it is written, I believed and therefore have I spoken. We also believe and therefore speak or therefore we speak. Now let's go to the sixth chapter of the book of Luke and notice something here. Jesus is speaking and says, for a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit. Neither does a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit for every tree is known by his own fruit, for of thorns men do not bring do not gather figs, nor of a Bramble Bush gather thy grapes, a good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good. An evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bring forth that which is evil for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks.

So in order and go ahead and be opening to the 12th chapter of Matthew. In order to ensure that faith is coming out out of your mouth all the time. Then the Word is going to have to be in your heart. It's going to have to- It's going to have to be there in abundance. It's going to have to be the thing that is predominant in your Spirit man. Amen. Because whatever's in there is coming out. If it, if the Word isn't in there it's not coming out. Back in the what kids used to call the olden days, the beginning days of this ministry and we've in those days we'd be gone, you know, weeks at a time and cause our meetings lasted two and three weeks and back there then particularly you had to teach faith for two weeks before you could really have anything happen much because the people were indoctrinated and believing it when you see I, and saying the wrong stuff and expect it to change things. We want to, I'm, I'm, I've really been looking to getting into this next week, calling things that are the way they are. They stay the way they are.

So, we came home, we'd been gone three weeks and came home and I was so home and then I'd be so tired and, but I still wouldn't go to sleep man at night. I just want to stay up and just be, Oh, I'm like ET, I wanna go home. And so when I get all, Oh, I'm so home. Well, Gloria and the kid had already gone to bed and I finally, I got to where I just couldn't stand it any longer. Now I'm headed into the bed and I did something very, very stupid. I turned the lights out and then walked across the room. We had a great big green Ottoman, or for those of you that are from the same country I am, you country hicks, it's a footstool. Great big thing. I don't know what that thing weighed and I kicked that footstool. Oh my, I heard it. Pow! I mean, it sounded like a small pistol shot. I knew it was broken. It hurt me so bad. We're gonna find out right then what's in you in abundance. And I shouted glory to God, thank you Jesus. I believe I'm healed. I receive my healing, thank you. Instead of something very embarrassing, amen. See my point?

And uh, I wish I had time to tell you about the miracle in how I received that very, very miraculously the next day. But anyway, that's what's so important to feed on the Word of God. Faith demands it. Faith demands it because there's only one way to get faith. You actually got it. You received it the moment you were born again. You every one of us, the moment we were saved, the moment you accepted Jesus Christ, your Lord and savior. Every one of us got the measure of faith. Exactly the same measure. One didn't get a lot in another one got a little. No. Well then why do some people have so much more faith than the others? Because you did something with it. Every little baby has exactly the same muscles. Exactly the same bones. Exactly the same structure. Amen. But it depends on what you do with that body. The condition of those muscles. Huh? It is what you do with it that counts. Particularly the older this thing gets.

Now I'm not but 30 years old, but my bodies be 83 the first week of December. So I've, Hey, I'm not but 30 years old. Cause when I was 30 I stepped into the perfect will of God. And I've been there ever since. Amen. Had a lot of opportunities to get out. Did get out, but thank God sense enough to get back in. You know, that's not hard to do. And there's people make such a, a big thing in how I'm out of the will of God. Well get back in. Yeah, but I don't know. I don't know. What do I do? What do I do? Do you know the Lord's prayer? Anyone in here does not know the Lord's prayer? We can. We can show you where it is in the Word. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I prayed that in faith, I'm back in the will of God.

Now he's got some maneuvering to do and I've got some answering to do. If you, if got sin in your life, repent dummy. Oh, excuse me. Dummy is not scriptural, I don't need to be calling you that meathead. That's scriptural. Oh yeah. Carnal, carne, chili con carne. That means chili with meat. Thank you meathead. Don't go tell anybody that the instructor at that school over call me meathead this morning. Well, if he'd go tell somebody then you are a meathead. Glory to God. What in the world I get off on that for? Anyway. Thank you Jesus. So to stay in a place where the Word is fresh and strong and powerful all the time. All the time. And it's the, it's the Word that you get excited about that works for you. And it can we use some Words you've been looking at in the looking at and studying and thinking about and, and kind of passed over and all of that for all these years, and suddenly one day the thing went widescreen and you got so excited you didn't know what to do and you've been reading it for 25 years or more.

But Hey, this book is pregnant, it's pregnant with revelation. Glory to God it's pregnant with healing, it's pregnant with power. I'll tell you, the begats are full of power. Oh yeah. One of the most powerful revelations you have, the ability to receive is when it includes Rehab in the lineage of Jesus. And you notice when it, when the Bible refers to Rehab, it always refers to her as Rehab the harlot. So that you understand God can take care of the harlot part. It's religious minded people he can't have at, don't be talking about Rehab, don't you, not around me. Don't you be fussing about Rehab. David's grandmother. Jesus' great grandmother. Ah, what's the matter with you, come on, you get that in the begats. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Praise God. All right, thank you Lord.

So let's go back now to Matthew 12 and see Matthew's account of what we just read, uh, from Luke's account. Cause Matthew adds something in here that is vital to our study this morning of the 35th verse. A good man out of the good treasure or the good deposit of his heart. Bring fourth good things. An evil man out of the evil treasure. Bring forth evil things. Now just above that he said, verse 34, you generation of Vipers, how can you being able to give a speak good things for out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh. Now go down then to the uh, 36 verse. I say unto you that every idle word, every idle word, read that in the classic amplified, study that. For every word that does not proceed from faith. Every idle word that man shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words, thou shalt be justified. And by thy words, thou shall be condemned.

Words are the most serious thing on the planet. Words are the most important thing on the planet. We live in the shadow and under the law in a Word created. A Word up held universe. Glory to God. Think bout it, you can't change that. The devil can't change that. He stuck with it. But thank God we can change the words under which we live. Amen. Because whatever you and I have today is a product of what we said yesterday. Amen. Words are seeds as you know. Jesus said so, the sower sows the Word. Amen. I heard Gloria teach one time. She said, there's a lot of people praying for a crop failure. Well, you cause the crop failure. Dig up those old seeds and kill them. Glory to God. Praise God. Thank you. How much time I got, Tim? Thank you.

So now let's go now to Mark chapter five. We'll have time to introduce this and then we'll take up here tomorrow. Mark chapter five. Now Jesus is on the other side of the Galilee and ministered to the mad men of Gudera and if we have time, we'll, we'll take this up later in this study, but right now we want to, he comes back across the Galiliee, headed home. His home is in Capernaum and he moved his home and his ministry from Nazareth to Capernaum. Not just because he got ran out of town in Nazareth, but if you can find it in the book of Matthew, it's prophesied that he would, he would operate out of Capernum and you can see this and look through Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. And look for, he was in the house, not a house, the house, it was his house. They were in his house when Charlie and his four crazy friends broke a hole in the roof and let this man down.

I thought for years that that was a hostile crowd in there, but they were not, they had come from all quarters to hear him, not in a synagogue where it was hostile, but they came to his own house to hear him. And it was big enough to handle that kind of crowd. And it was very close to the synagogue in Capernaum for if you've read it carefully, he ministered to Jairus' daughter, and two blind men followed him into the house. Now they have excavated all of that. And his place was right there at the synagogue. Amen. Same synagogue where he ministered to the centurion's servant. That's the same synagogue that the Roman general built. That's widescreen, isn't it? Glory to God. So when you write out, every time you find the word Capernaum, write home, that opens up a whole new set of thrills for you. Amen. Wish I had time to get into that, but that's, that's thing of its own.

So, how much time, Tim? Okay, thank you. We'll just introduce this. In the 25th verse, now they came back across the Galilee, and the 25th verse, a certain woman, I want you to look for the laws. Look for the laws of fundamentals of faith. A certain woman which had an issue of blood 12 years, had suffered many things of many physicians and had spent all that she had and was nothing bettered but rather grew worse. That's a that that's strong. In the study of faith, when she had heard of Jesus, came into press behind, touched his garment for she said. For she said, if I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway immediately the fountain of her blood dried up. Then she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. When she was saying it, she was still bleeding.

Now, And Jesus immediately knowing in himself that power, dunamis, had gone out of him, turned him about in the press and said, who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto him, thou seest the multitude thronging thee and sayest thou who touched me? And he looked around about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her came and fell down before him and told him all the truth. And he said unto her daughter, thy faith have made thee whole go in peace and be whole of thy plague. Now, number one, she believed it in her heart. She said it with her mouth. Number two, she heard of Jesus. What did she hear? Well, she heard the Word, man. Somebody is relaying messages. Because it's right there in his home town. Now, but we're out of time. But I wanna fit this in here to you. She had to have forgiven the doctors, for faith does not work in an unforgiving heart.
