John Bradshaw - That's God Growing You
If you were going to cook a pot of beans you'd sort the beans first so that you didn't inadvertently cook bad beans or lumps of dirt; squeeze lemons and you'll likely separate out the seeds.
This is Proverbs 17:3, "The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the hearts".
Whether acid or heat or electricity is used, refining makes gold better, as pure as possible, so who or what refines you? God does. He allows trials to come into your life in order to burn away selfishness, He'll permit temptation to come so you can develop moral strength, that same trial coming back to you again and again, that's God growing you, giving you the opportunity to gain the victory.
Gold and silver are refined, and you're worth more than that to God. Let God refine you; in doing so He's preparing you for heaven. I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written.
