John Bradshaw - He Hated Life
I'll tell you what sin does: sin drew King Solomon away from God, it led him into idolatry and degrading practices. But this is what Solomon said sin led him to, we get this straight from the horse's mouth. After saying that he turned himself to consider wisdom, and madness and folly, Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 2:17, "Therefore I hated life".
Now, let that sink in. He had it all: wisdom, and wealth, and God's blessing. God even appeared to him twice. But after sliding into a life without God, he said he hated life. That's a whale of a thing to say. But that's where life goes without God. People lose hope, because without God there's no real hope. People get angry or worried, and feel like they've got nothing to live for, because all they have to live for is this world. Have faith in God, learn from Solomon, and love life.
