Summary
From Romans 8:18–28, the preacher passionately declares «The Groan Before the Glory.» Present sufferings—personal, generational, global—are divinely allowed to break stubbornness, strip away flesh, and birth something greater. Creation groans in travail, believers groan inwardly, and the Spirit intercedes with unutterable groanings. But all things (even pain, trauma, vanity) work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. The greater the groan, the greater the glory that shall be revealed. Tears water dreams; crying breaks yokes; persistent praise and intercession turn groaning into explosive glory and breakthrough.
The Groan Before the Glory
Yeah, Romans chapter 8, verses 18-28. When you have it, say amen. Amen! Paul says, «For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to even be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.» I could stay there all day! I could just put up a tent and camp out in my backyard and stay on that text all day. I reckon that the sufferings of this present time—anybody got some sufferings? The sufferings of your present time are not worthy to even be compared. Don’t even put it in the same sentence! It is not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. The whole earth is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God, for you to peel back your flesh and show who you really are. Come on, talk to me, somebody! For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly.
Now, this is what I want you to pay close attention to: For the creature was made subject to vanity not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope. Now, the creature didn’t submit to this vanity on its own, nor did the devil do it. God allowed him to face a level of vanity because it was according to His purpose. Even the suffering is a part of His purpose. We don’t talk about suffering; we talk about blessings and prosperity. Everything that looks like suffering, we call it demons and devils. But it’s not always a demon or a devil. Sometimes it’s the hand of the potter putting indentations into the clay so that He could shape you into something that He could use for His glory. Hallelujah!
Are you hearing what I’m saying to you? Because the creature itself also shall be delivered. Shall be delivered! You should have shouted right there! The creature itself also shall be delivered. I don’t care what kind of vanity you’re in, you’re going to be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. Glory to God! I love a happy ending! Glory to God! For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. You can see it everywhere. You can see it in Afghanistan. You can see it in Ukraine. You can see it in Israel. There’s no place you can hardly go anymore that there’s not some kind of hell breaking out in the world.
And we thought we were exempt on this side of the water, but it has come across the waters and slipped into our neighborhood. It has climbed up the walls and entered into the windows of our house. Death has come into the windows of our house. Send for the women of mourning and let them take up a wailing because we never thought it would come to our house, but it’s in our house right now. And not only they, but we ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan. We groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope. That’s why the devil’s trying to kill your hope. ‘Cause you’re saved by hope. He’s trying to make you go numb.
Uh-huh! Yeah, I’m going to read your mail this morning! He’s trying to make you go numb because he knows that if you’ve got hope, we are saved by hope. But hope that is seen is not hope. You’re going to have to hope like a fool! You’re going to have to hope like a crazy person! You may have to set the table for dinner and have nothing in the refrigerator. You’re going to have to have crazy kinds of hope! Glory to God! Pressed down, shaken together, and running over! For what man seeth, why does he yet hope for it? If you already had it, you wouldn’t develop your hope. But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
Look at your neighbor and nudge them. Say, «I’m waiting on something.» Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities. It helpeth our infirmity. It helps to be saved. It helps to be filled. It helps to pray in the Spirit. It helps to speak in tongues. It helps to lift your hands in your house. It helps to worship in the car. Cut off all that foolishness! Start worshiping in the car! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! It helps! It helps! You don’t know what kind of demon you’re going to face when you get out of the car. So you’ve got to build yourself up in your most holy faith. You’ve got to get yourself ready! Yeah, I’m ready this morning! Come on, let’s do this thing today! Let’s get this thing on!
For we know not what we should pray for as we ought. We don’t know what to pray for as we ought. But the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings—there’s that word again—groanings which cannot be uttered. Somebody shout amen! Amen! And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit. He’s not just searching your heart, but he also knows what the Spirit has for you. He’s searching your treasure chest. He’s searching your promises. He’s searching your power. He knows what the Spirit has in mind for you because he maketh intercession for the saints not according to their ambition, not according to their flesh, not according to their spirit of competition, but according to the will of God. Shout yes, somebody!
And we know that all— we know that all things, not just the good things, but all things, not just the happy things, but the tough things, all things work together for the good to them that love God. Check your neighbor out. Say, «Do you love God?» If they say no, move and get another seat! Because the only way everything’s going to work out is you keep on loving God. I keep loving God. I keep loving you, loving you, loving you, loving you over and over again! I keep loving you, loving you, loving you, loving you, loving you over again! You need to start falling in love with Him again to them who are the called! Oh, check this out: According to His purpose, shout yes, somebody!
I want to spend the next few moments talking to you about the groan before the glory. The groan before the glory. Write that down: The groan before the glory! Hallelujah! You may be seated in His presence. Holy Spirit, bless the word as it is being preached today. Let it strengthen us, let it empower us, let it change us and transform us. I thank you in advance for what you’re going to do. Have your way in this place. In Jesus' name, we pray. Somebody shout amen! Amen! Let’s go to work! Yeah, yeah, let’s go to work! Yeah, that’s what I’m talking about—let’s go to work!
Generational Trauma and the Spirit’s Intercession
There is—I talked about this earlier—there is a biological inheritance that comes through ancestral oppression that affects your DNA in such a way that you respond to things differently than you didn’t experience. Maybe you walk by a pool of water, or you can’t stand to put your head under water. And maybe one of your ancestors drowned in the water, and you can’t even remember it. But the cells in your body have a memory. The cells in your body have a memory. And some of the fears that you have are not even your own. Some of the inhibitions you have are not even your own. Some of the silence that you have—the way you clam up, the way you can’t talk, the way you can’t open up—you didn’t just get that! You weren’t just born with that! It was passed on to you from generation to generation.
And then there are intergenerational things that happen in our lives that we can remember, that we can point at, that we can touch, that we can claim. Now you see what the scripture means when it says the Spirit has to make intercession for you, because it has to pray against some of the things that your great-grandmother did, that your great-grandfather did, that happened to them. They were hung by trees, they were crucified upside down, their legs were cut off. You went through all kinds of things, all kinds of traumas.
When they first started studying this, they were studying it—the Nazis and studying the effect of the Nazis on the Jews in the Holocaust. They had the Jews’ great-great-grandchildren, who were not in the Holocaust, still reacting genetically as if they had experienced the Holocaust, because there is a memory bank that passes down. And this memory bank passes down biologically, not just psychologically, but biologically in such a way that it rearranges how your DNA responds to certain stimuli. And they started studying that later. They started studying the descendants of slaves, any people that have gone through massive hardships, massive grave diggings. Many of the people—the massive graves you saw—what you didn’t see, they were buried alive! Not right where we have Central Park in New York; they were buried in tombs and buried in graves, and often buried alive.
And now we’re riding through on our horse and buggy, talking about how beautiful it is when your great-great-grandmother is laying up under the soil there. So, some of the things that you wrestle with, you’re not wrestling against flesh and blood but powers and principalities. You’re wrestling against things that you don’t remember. No wonder we don’t know how to pray for things as we ought, because some of the things we need to pray for, we can’t even remember. But the Spirit itself searches our hearts and searches our spirit. And He that knoweth the will of God maketh intercession for us.
See, the Spirit is the only thing eternal enough to pray for your past, your present, and your future all at the same time. With one sweep, He can move it all out of the way because He’s God all by Himself. He knows the root of what is going on in your life, not just the fruit. You’re praying against the fruit, but the Holy Spirit will come in and pull it up by the root, so you won’t have to deal with it next season. Y’all miss that.
So you won’t have to deal with it next season. God’s going to get that thing out of you. He’s going to eradicate it. He’s going to pull it up. He’s not just going to shake the leaves off of it, but He’s going to get to the core and the essence of it. And so when He does, you are a curse breaker that breaks curses for your generation, changing the trajectory of the rest of your life. Somebody jump up and holler, «It stops with me! It stops with me! It stops with me! It stops with me!» No, you can’t have my daughter. No, you can’t have my son. No, you can’t have my grandchildren. It stops with me.
You know why it stops with me? Because the blood is against you. I put the blood against you. I put up a blood barrier. I put up a blood barrier. What biologists call a brain barrier can be pierced, and if something pierces your brain barrier, it affects your ability to think or function or remember or deal with Alzheimer’s or dementia because it has broken through the brain barrier. There are all kinds of diseases you want to keep out of the brain barrier. You’re going to be a brain barrier that stops it from passing to another generation. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against it.
I’m going to say it again because I don’t think you heard me. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against it. You’re the standard that God lifts up against him because you’re filled with the Spirit. You say it stops right here. You’re the guard that stops it from hitting the goalpost. You’re the barrier that God’s going to use. That’s why He snatched you in. That’s why He pulled you in. That’s why He called you out of your sin. He drew you like a magnet draws steel. He drew you like a magnet draws metal. He drew you to Him. Even when you didn’t want to be there, He still drew you. Some of you didn’t even want to come to church this morning, but God drew you. He got you up out of the bed with your tired self and said, «Come out here because I got a word for you, and I’m going to do something down inside of you, and I’m going to fix you.»
And I’m going to fix you so that you can stand in an evil day. Anybody can stand in a good day, but you got to be tough to stand in the evil day. Having done all to stand, let us stand therefore with our loins girded about with truth. Having done all to stand, the Bible said you have not yet resisted unto blood. You have put up the fight. You got to put up the fight. You got to put up the fight so strong that you see great drops of sweat and blood coming out of your skin like Jesus did in the garden of Gethsemane. You got to resist. Touch somebody, say, «Resist! Resist!» Resist the temptation to give up. Resist the temptation to give in. Resist the temptation to fall out. Resist the temptation to cuss people out about nothing. Fall out with people. Act a fool about nothing. Get a spirit of animosity about nothing. Resist the spirit.
When you see those spirits stand up in you and you just can’t take it and you just can’t have it, and you just got to tell them and you just got to do that, the Bible said resist him, and he’ll flee from you. I’m tired of fleeing from him; I want him to flee from me. Who am I talking to? I feel something about to hit this place. I feel a wind about to come into this place. I feel God about to do something in this place. Shout hallelujah, somebody! I said shout hallelujah, somebody! Yeah, you’re about to get a shout! Hallelujah! Touch your neighbor and tell them, «I’m through running! I’m through running! I’ve been running all my life, but I’m through running! I’m through running! I’m through running!»
All the standing I’m going to do, I’m going to stand. If my knees are buckling, I’m going to stand. If I’m lopsided, I’m going to stand. If my legs are crossed, I’m going to stand. If I’m broke, I’m going to stand. If I’m in a war, I’m going to stand. Roll your eyes at me, but I’m going to stand. Write notes about me, but I’m going to stand. Try to terminate me, but I’m going to stand. I’m going to stand right where I’m standing right now. If God be God, by this I know that the Lord is with me, for He has not allowed my enemies to triumph over me. Somebody ought to shout right there!
If you got enemies that hope you crash and hope you wreck, by this I know that the Lord is with me, for He has not allowed my enemies to triumph over me. I have enemies that if they had their way, I wouldn’t be standing here this morning. But by this, I know that the Lord is with me, for He has not allowed my enemies to triumph over me. Excuse me while I praise Him. I feel like giving my dance. I feel like giving some glory. I feel like lifting Him up. I feel like, I feel like, I feel like doing my dance. I got to thank Him. I got to thank Him. I got to thank Him. I got to thank Him. I got to thank Him. I got to thank Him. My God, do you feel the spirit of God? Shout yes, somebody!
Subject to Vanity… In Hope
Let’s go deeper! You ready to go deeper? So the Bible talks about God having planted us. Put that scripture back up again where He has planted us in vanity work. Yeah, I’m going to work it today. I’m going to work it today. For the creature was made subject to vanity. The creature was made subject to emptiness. The creature was made subject to internal conflict. The creature was made subject to vanity, to disruption, to corruption, to discontentment, to a certain degree of happiness. And we’re not just talking about the world; we’re talking about in the church.
There’s a certain degree of discontentment that lives inside of all of us. It lives inside of all of us. We go to bed with it. We wake up with it. While we’re doing our dishes, we become aware of it. The creature was made subject to vanity. Not willingly! Not willingly! I don’t want it! I want to wake up singing every morning. I want to wake up grinning every morning. But God cannot make me into what He wants me to be giving me lollipops every morning for breakfast. Sometimes God orders some supplements and some vitamins and some minerals and some iron and some calcium and some magnesium. Sometimes God orders what you need and takes you through things that you don’t like, and it doesn’t fit your appetite, and it works on your nerves, and it works on your pride, and it works on your ego because God ain’t going to stop till He gets what He wants broken in your life.
He’s going to take you through it over and over and over again until He convinces your stubborn self that it doesn’t work. You’re going to fail over and over again and become even more frustrated. You are made subject to vanity only because you’re stubborn. You won’t learn the lesson that God is trying to teach you. You’re too stubborn to humble yourself. You’re too stubborn to humble yourself. You’re so convinced you’re right. Let me tell you why you’re convinced you’re right: because you are your own teacher. You are your own pastor. You are your own leader. You are your own father. And anytime a criminal chooses himself as a lawyer, he’s got a fool for a client.
Talk to me, somebody! You’ve got a fool for a client because you think you can defend yourself, and you think you already know everything, and you have been made subject to vanity. Made subject to vanity! I know you’re tough. I know you’re stubborn. I know you’re hard-headed. I know you’re going to do what you want to do no matter what. But you’re going to get whooped and whooped and whooped and whooped and wiped and wiped. My mama, I’m from the old school. Mama would beat it out of you! Glory to God! She said, «Oh no! You’re not going to cry! You’re not going to cry! Oh, you’re not going to cry! You’re not going to cry!»
I never did understand that because when I started crying, she said, «Shut up that crying!» I think, «Would you please make up your mind? Do you want me to cry or do you not want me to cry?» Glory to God! Y’all don’t know nothing about that kind of parenting. That kind of parenting where you cry until no sound will come out, and you curl up in the bed and go to sleep and wake up tomorrow and hope for a better day. God said, «I’m going to take you through it and take you through it and take you through it until I finally break you.» If I have to break you at 40, if I have to break you at 50, if I have to break you at 75, I’m going to break that stubborn will that passed down through your ancestors that caused you to get in the mess you got in, that caused you to get in the trouble you got in. I’m going to break it! I’m going to break it! It stops with you!
I’m going to get out. This is not a devil doing this to you. This is not spiritual warfare. This is not a demonic attack. This is God making you subject to vanity. No matter what you do, you can’t get around it. No matter what you do, you can’t rent. No matter what you do, there’s a feeling of restlessness. And God ordered it. And He doesn’t care that you’re not willing. And He doesn’t care that you don’t like it. He doesn’t care that you don’t appreciate it. The Bible said, «You were not willing.» But by reason of Him who has subjected the same in hope. He subjected you to it in hope that you would wake up in hope, that you would surrender in hope, that you would say yes, in hope that you would make the sound that liberates the soul. He subjected you to it to the point that you had to groan.
The Whole Creation Groans
And you groaned within yourself. The Scripture said He groaned within Himself. How many of you have groaned within yourself? Sometimes it didn’t come out of your mouth, but down on the inside, you were just groaning within yourself, and you just wondered how long, how long, how long will I have to go through this trouble? How long will I have to go through this emptiness? How long will I have to endure suffering? How long will I have to endure persecution? It seems like it’s enough for me. It seems like I’ve been in here long enough, but God said, «Evidently it’s not. You haven’t learned what I’m trying to teach you.»
How long will the wicked prosper? How long will I have to do without what I think I ought to have? That’s what’s wrong! It’s what you think! You’re not asking me what I think. You’re picking out what you want! But I’m going to keep you groaning until your soul says yes. I’m going to keep you groaning till your soul says yes. I’m going to keep you groaning till you come out with your hands up. I’m going to keep you groaning until you surrender to my authority. Nobody could control you. You’ve always been ruthless. You’ve always done your own thing. God said, «I’m going to keep you groaning until you finally start to learn it. I’m going to keep you groaning until you fall down on your knees, groaning within yourself because I put you into vanity.»
The demons didn’t do it. Hell didn’t do it. The witch didn’t do it. Your wife didn’t do it. Your ex-husband didn’t do it. I put you down because you’re hard-headed and you’re stubborn. And I’m going to preach to you down until you start groaning within yourself because it’s going to be your groaning that changes your situation. Not only the world is groaning; the whole world is groaning. Everybody’s mad at everybody. I don’t hardly like to post anything. If you post good morning, «Not where I live! Who gave you the right to tell me to have a good morning?» I’m going to have a great morning! I’m going to have a highly favored morning!
And you can’t say anything because people are just mad. They’re just upset like I’ve never seen it before. There is a rumbling and a wrath that’s been poured out on the world. It’s what the Bible later calls travail, as a woman in travail. Labor pains. The world is about to give birth. It’s in the middle of delivery right now. Right now! Right now! Right now! Right now! The world is in the middle of delivery. And there’s travail in the womb. And the centimeters are opening wider and wider. And the birth canal is opening up. And the Bible said hell has enlarged itself to accommodate the wicked. Another passage says in the last days Satan will loose demons that you have never seen before, demons that you never had to fight before.
And there’s groaning in the earth. There’s groaning in the world. There’s groaning so bad that young people are blowing their brains out. Young men are killing themselves. Young women are shooting themselves. Others are choosing to work themselves to death. Others are choosing to commit suicide slowly. Some are doing it quickly. Some are doing it slowly. But they’re doing it because they’re dealing with this groaning. It’s groaning because you feel stuck. Stuck in your finances. Stuck in your marriage. Stuck in your family. Stuck in your situation. In fact, the only relief you get is when you come to church. That’s why you be busy getting up, coming to church.
I don’t care if you got to come in your tennis shoes and a skirt. You coming to church because sometimes it’s the only place you can find the peace and the power that you need. Glory to God! Glory to God! Glory to God! Don’t worry about them because the Spirit’s going to draw a lot of people to this altar because I’m going to keep preaching until you admit I’m talking about you. I know you undercover. I know you’re trying to be undercover. I know you’re trying to convince everybody that you’re so smart and you know how to handle everything and you know how to do everything. But I’m going to preach this till you come to your knees. I’m going to preach this till you humble yourself.
I’m going to preach this till you come out with your hands up. I’m going to preach this till you surrender. I’m going to preach this till you say yes. You danced all over the church and went home and wanted to blow your brains out. You shouted and made all kinds of noise, but then went home and felt miserable. And God says, «I’m going to keep on putting this on you until you start groaning.» And when you start groaning, you open yourself up for me to come into your life and to move into your life and to change the obstacles that are in your life. Touch five people and tell them, «I feel a change coming! I’ve been groaning for a long time, but I feel a change coming! I’ve been groaning in the storm and the rain, but I feel a change coming!
I’ve been groaning when I was broke, but I feel a change coming! I was groaning with money. I was groaning without money. I was groaning when I was sick, and I was groaning when I was well. I’ve been groaning in bereavement, and I was groaning at the family reunion. But down in my spirit, I feel a change about to take place. God’s going to give me beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.» That’s why it’s not good for you to sit by me because when I get my breakthrough, it’s a breakthrough! It’s a breakthrough! It’s a breakthrough! Is there anybody in here that’s made up your mind, «I’m going to break through it! If I have to dance out of my shoes, if I have to leap up and down, if I have to shout where I stand, if I have to wave my arms in the air, if I have to look like a fool, if I have to apologize, if I have to lay on my face, I’m going to break it!»
The Greater the Groan, the Greater the Glory
I’m going to break it! If I have to humble down and ask you for forgiveness even though I thought I was right, I’m going to break through it. If I have to fix things that I didn’t break, I’m going to break through it. If I have to humble myself under the hand of God because I know this groaning, it’s going to turn to glory! It’s going to turn to glory! It’s going to turn to glory! And I know you saw me groan, but you wait till you see my glory! Oh, the sufferings of this present world are not worthy to be compared to the glory that shall be revealed in us. But I understand that my deliverance is what the world is waiting on! The whole creation is groaning and travailing in pain until now. They’re waiting for the redemption.
They’re waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. They’re waiting for you to peel past your flesh and reveal who you really are. It does not yet appear who you really are. But I’m going to keep on whipping you till you strip everything away that’s stopping the world from seeing who you really are. I’m telling you that the sufferings that you’re going through right now can’t even compare to the glory that shall be revealed! That’s why you ought to glory in tribulation. The more you’ve been in tribulation, the more you ought to glory because God is measuring your glory by your groaning. The greater the groan, the greater the glory. The more you shed tears, the more God’s going to deliver you. God is so serious about your tears that He saved your tears in a vial. Tears that nobody saw—tears that hit your pillow in the middle of the night—God caught them in a vial, and He’s counting your tears.
And the more you cry, the more God’s going to bring you into glory. It’s going to be pressed down, shaken together, and running over! I’m going to make it run over in your life! They saw you go forth, weeping, bearing precious seed, but they’re going to see you doubtless come back again, bringing in the sheaves! I’m talking to you, all that had to cry yourself to sleep. All you did was water your dream. The more you cried, you watered your dream. The more you shed tears, you watered your dream. You didn’t even know you were watering, but God ordered your tears. Cry till you feel a change! Cry till God opens up a door! Cry till a yoke breaks!
What do you say, David? David said, «This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and delivered him out of all of his troubles.» Wait a minute! What do you say, Jonah? «Out of the belly of the fish, I cried, and the Lord heard me and made the fish get sick and spit him up.» God’s going to make some things that are holding you spit you up. They’re going to have to spit you up. They’re going to have to spit you up! I feel something about to get loose in here! I feel the anointing of the Holy Ghost about to take over this place in here! I cried, and the Lord heard me and delivered me out of all of my transgressions. This is why I love Him, because when I cried, He heard me! He answered me! I cried, and He came to my aid! I cried, and He rescued me!
What do you say, Revelation? The souls were crying out from under the altar, saying, «How long will I have to go through this?» Oh, I feel the Holy Ghost working in this place! Hallelujah! I know you’re too cute to cry, but I cried! I cried my way out of dungeons! I cried my way out of prisons! I cried my way out of trouble! I cried until the fish got sick and spit me up! All you proud people, you ain’t going to never get a release because the power is in your tears. He that sows in tears shall reap in joy! You don’t hear me preaching to you! He—you sowed it in tears! You were sowing and crying! You were sowing and crying! You were crying and sowing! You were crying and sowing! Somebody said, «Shut up!» But you kept on crying!
What do you say, Blind Bartimaeus? They told Blind Bartimaeus, «Shut your mouth!» And the more they tried to get him to stop, the more he cried, «Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me!» Oh! Oh! I don’t need a car. I don’t need a house. I don’t need a fur coat. I’m blind! I need you to touch me! I need you to touch me this Sunday morning! I’m crying for a touch! I’m crying for a healing! I’m crying for deliverance! I’m crying for a breakthrough! The other guy’s just crying because he wants a new car to impress his friends. But if I never get a car, if I have to ride a bicycle, I cried till I got a breakthrough in my soul! I cried till I felt a deliverance in my belly! I cried till I felt my baby jump! I cried till my infant began to leap! I cried because something on the inside woke up!
Elizabeth was an old woman. She wasn’t even supposed to be pregnant, but she was carrying a baby, and the baby wasn’t moving, and they thought the baby was dead. But the Bible says that when Mary saluted Elizabeth, her baby started leaping! Every now and then, the reason you see us jump is because our baby is starting to leap! I feel something in this room! I got to have the kind of preaching that makes my baby leap! I got to have the kind of preaching that stirs me up! I got to have the kind of preaching that makes my water break! I got to have the kind of preaching that makes me cry out to God until demons leave my grandchildren! I got to have the kind of preaching that makes me go home and open up the door and tell every devil, «Get out of my house! You’ve been in my house too long! I’m going to sweep you out of this house! I don’t know whether you’re ready for this, but it’s got to break this morning! Lord, I wish I had a praying church! If I had a praying church, I’d drive hell out of here! If I had a praying church, I’d make the devil leap out the window! I’d make hell commit suicide! If I had a praying church, sickness would start running out the door, hit the double doors, and get out! Cancer would have to leave the building! If I had a praying church, God’s going to pay me for every night I groaned, for every night I suffered, for every night I couldn’t go to sleep, for every night I had to stay up waiting on the Lord to deliver me. God’s got a new glory! Spin around in a circle! God’s going to turn your groaning into glory!
He’s going to turn your groaning into glory! And I am persuaded that the sufferings of this present world are not worthy to be compared to the glory that shall be revealed in us! I feel like preaching till I come down off the mountain looking like Moses and glory is shooting out of my face! Because all of that groaning got me in touch with Jesus! And now I’m seeing glory coming out of my spirit! Oh my God, somebody give me a veil and cover my face! Let somebody get the glory that didn’t pay for it! You can’t have this anointing until you suffered a while, until you’ve been backed up in a corner, until your pride has broken, until your stubbornness is broken, till everything in you has come to a boiling point. They tell me at 212 degrees the water starts to boil. You don’t need a thermometer! The boiling tells you that it’s hot enough for the water to begin to boil!
The earth is starting to boil! It’s starting to bubble! It’s starting to rumble! Can’t you see? When you turn on the news, the whole earth is starting to bubble! The earth is getting in the birth position! The manifestation of the Son of God is about to appear! Somebody open your mouth and holler, „Here I am! Here I am! Here I am! Here! Here I am!“ If you’re waiting on me, here I am! I got my anointing back! I got my vision back! I got my function back! I got my fire back! I got my fight back! Here I am! I’m not hiding in a cave!
