TD Jakes - Advice For The Next Generation
Integrity, loyalty, friendship, and don't give it to everybody, 'cause everybody ain't worth it. Find somebody that is worth the investment of the level of what you have. When I buried Holloway Gray the other day, we'd been friends 60 years. Noel Jones and I have been friends, oh gosh, 35 years. 35? Now, don't think we agreed all the time, he got on my nerves, I got on his nerves, don't have nothing to do with it. Bottom line, we're still gonna ride or die together.
Those friendships are very important, and I see you ride over top of them and I don't think that's a smart thing to do. Because if you you lock the doors and all I had to build a million dollars was the people that's in this room right now, I could build a million dollars in a month with the people in the room right now, and I don't even know all of you. But I bet you, if you let me sit here and talk to you and figure out what you're good at, what you do, and I set up a team and say, "You go this way, you go this way, and you go this way, and we're gonna line up like this," and I gave myself room with 30 days. Okay? I'm saying a lot of times, the people you're walking past you need to be walking to.
