Rabbi Schneider - Receive the Fullness of God's Love
Welcome to today's very special episode on Discovering the Jewish Jesus. I'm gonna bring you inside Kiev, Ukraine. When I travel overseas I generally have two objectives. Number one, we do large mass evangelistic outreaches. But my second mission is to minister to the pastors, to the leaders in the lands where I travel. Today in Kiev, you're gonna see me ministering at a pastor's conference. I felt that I should draw us all back to our first love, because after all, our ministries are an overflow of our own personal relationship with God. So I ministered to them from the Song of Songs, which draws us in to the very heart of Yeshua. I think it was a really impactful word from the Lord. They were really blessed by it and beloved, I believe you too will be blessed in this two part episode from the Song of Songs, "A Journey Into Divine Love". I hope you enjoy it and are blessed by it.
So I want to take you this evening to one of my favorite books in the Word of God. I want to bring you tonight to the Song of Songs. It's oftentime referred to as the Song of Solomon. Now let me ask you a question. I want you to be real honest tonight. How many of you have never seriously studied the Song of Songs? Raise your hand. You see most of God's people have not yet entered in to the divine revelation in the Song of Songs. Listen to how it begins in the first verse. Look in verse 1 how it begins. "The Song of Songs," it doesn't say the Song of Solomon. It says, "The Song of Songs," because this is the greatest love song that's ever been written.
You see the rabbis have taught from ancient times that the Song of Songs is about God's love for His people. In fact some of the leading rabbis, when the Jewish people were putting together what is called the canon, when Israel's sages decided what books should be contained in the Tanakh; some questioned whether the Song of Songs should be in the Bible. But the leading rabbis of the day said not only should it be in the Tanakh, but they said it's the holiest book in the entire Tanakh; because the Song of Songs reveals to us like no other book in scripture, how beautiful God is, how beautiful His people are to Him. And the Song of Songs reveals to us the emotional nature of our God like no other book in the entire Bible; either the Tanakh or the Brit Chadashah. You see different books of the Bible carry different types of anointings.
For example, the book of Proverbs is predominantly about wisdom, we all know that. The book of Romans is a logical doctrinal book. The book of Leviticus teaches us about God's morality through His laws. But the Song of Songs reveals God's emotional nature for His people. The Song of Songs speaks to us of the beauty of God and how beautiful His people are to Him like no other book in the Bible. I want you to hear me. You and I are beautiful to God. Now when we think of the Lord, when we think of Father, or when we think of Yeshua, we think that God, we try to comprehend what He's like. We think of His power. We think God, He's all powerful, or we think of His morality. We think of God as standing for truth and righteousness, or we think of God as being all knowing. We think of God as being a being of love. And all that is true. But in the book of Romans Paul tells us this, we can know who God is by looking at what He has made. Paul said this, "God's invisible attributes and His eternal nature are clearly seen through what He has made".
So in other words Paul is saying that when you and I look at creation, when we look at the world, that can help us to see who God is. And when we look at the world, when we look at creation, what strikes us more than anything is God's beauty. When I woke up this morning and I looked at the sky, I see a beautiful blue sky, deep blue beauty. And then when I walked out of the hotel I saw beautiful trees, still some flowers. And I could look at the birds and if I keep studying long enough I'll see rainbows and butterflies and plants and I'll see beauty everywhere; because God is beautiful. And you and I have been made in His likeness, which must mean that we too are beautiful. Now because of the anti-Christ spirit that exists on earth, because of the power of darkness and because Satan is the accuser of God's people, we often times have a hard time seeing ourselves as beautiful; because the enemy tells us all types of lies about our self. He tells us we're not smart enough. He puts guilt and shame and condemnation on us. He makes us incapable of receiving the fullness of God's love. But tonight God is opening our hearts to understand that we're beautiful to Him and we stand before Him holy and blameless in love.
So Father in Yeshua's name, I ask you to open our hearts tonight to understand how beautiful You are and to be able to receive the truth of how very beautiful we are to you.
I'm gonna walk you through some of the key verses in the Song of Songs tonight. I like to call the Song of Songs a journey in to divine love. So let's begin in verse number 1. "The Song of Songs, which is Solomon's". It begins with the Shulamite bride, who's a shadow of you and I, calling out to the king. The king, once again, in the natural was Solomon. But prophetically King Solomon is just a shadow of King Jesus. And so she begins by saying, "May he kiss me with the kisses of his mouth"! She's calling out for intimacy with the king. True intimacy with God can only come, where there's a deep passion and deep intimacy for it. She knew that when she was kissed by the king, it would satisfy every longing in her heart. Listen again, "May he kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your love is better than wine". Wine symbolizes the best things that this earth has to offer us. But she said, "kiss me with the kisses of your mouth! For your love is better than wine". She had come in to the reality where she realized that to experience God's presence is more satisfying than anything that this world has to offer.
What about you? What are you looking for to satisfy you? Some are thinking, "If I had more money I'd be satisfied". Unfortunately some may be thinking, "If I had another husband or wife I'd be satisfied". But she said, "Your love," she said to Father, "it's better than anything this world could give me". She was fascinated by the beauty of Yeshua. She was enamored with His glory. Oh she wanted to experience the presence of God more than anything else in the world. And so in verse number 4, because she had been so fascinated with Yeshua, she declares her life's purpose. Look at verse 4 with me. She says, "Draw me after you and let us run together"!
I declare breakthrough over your life tonight, that whatever has restricted you, whatever has been in the way, whatever darkness has kept you, whatever spiritual block there's been that has prevented you from seeing that the presence of God through Yeshua is really your answer and that He wants to partner with you in your life through every detail; I break off that blockage tonight and declare that you're gonna leave here tonight walking arm in arm with the Lord as your partner for the rest of your days. You're not just gonna worship Him as a God that's up there. You're gonna walk with Him in unity down here. She said, "Draw me after you and let us run together! The king has brought me into his chambers". She had an encounter.
Yeshua said in John chapter 14, "If you love Me," He said, "and you obey Me". He said, "I'm gonna come to you and disclose Myself to you. I'm gonna manifest Myself to you. You're not just gonna read about Me". He said, "I'm gonna come to you personally and make Myself known to you. You're gonna know that I've encountered you. I'm gonna bring you into My chamber. You're gonna have a glory encounter and My Father and I will make Our home with you". Listen very carefully. Listen very carefully. Yeshua is looking for somebody to love Him back.
Did you ever think about this? Not only did Jesus die on the cross to take away our sin, but beloved, He died on the cross to marry us; to purchase us to be His partners in love. Again, it was a great revelation to me when I realized that God was looking for a partner in love. I used to just think of God as sovereign, that He's gonna accomplish His purposes. But when it began to dawn on me that He's looking for me to respond to Him, that what He really desires is for me to choose to love Him back, it brought a whole new dimension into my walk with the Lord. You know every second of every day the eyes of the Lord are upon us and what He's wanting, beloved ones, is for you and I to be responding to Him, to be responding to His voice, to be responding to His love by taking our thoughts captive and by putting Him first in our lives. The question is, what may be in the way of your and I putting Him first and loving Him back? Father we love You and we want to give You our whole life, spirit, soul, mind and body. And love You back the way that You love us. In Yeshua's name, amen.
