Rabbi Schneider - The Only Kingdom to Focus on
You know, there's so much going on right now in the world politically. And the country is very divided, obviously, and people are so emotional about politics. But I want us to remember today that politics, beloved, is just temporary. Nations come and go, kings and presidents come and go.
Listen what God's Word says regarding the end of the age in Zechariah Chapter 14, verse number 9: “And the LORD God will be king over all the earth; on that day the LORD will be the only one, and His name the only one.”
I want to encourage you today, don't get so caught up in politics that it tears your soul up. We need to focus on the true and coming King. The Book of Hebrews tells us that Abraham (Avraham) and the other patriarchs - they lived in this world as if they were just sojourners here temporarily, like they were aliens in a foreign land. Their focus was on the heavenly Kingdom, on the heavenly New Jerusalem.
So I want to encourage you today. We need to make a difference on this earth. We need to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. We need to be influencing people, our culture, our school systems, our politics, wherever we can. But, beloved, we can't let it tear up our soul because all of this is going to pass. We need to be grounded and centered in the coming King and the New Jerusalem, because Jesus says, "I am coming soon."
Beloved, let's make the Kingdom of God the priority of our lives and His Kingdom the only one that we're really focused on.
