Rabbi Schneider - Come On! It's No Time To Be Lukewarm
First Corinthians, chapter 16, verse number 13. Hear the word of God "Be on the alert. Stand firm in the faith. Act like men. Be strong". Wow. There's a lot. There isn't. There's like. There's like, four different messages there. "Be alert. Stand firm. Act like men. Be strong".
Let's take a look at those. Be alert. What does that mean? We should be walking with our spiritual antennas up. We should be walking and paying attention to what's going on. What thoughts are in our mind? What's going on in the people and the circumstances, in the spiritual atmosphere around us? What's going on in the culture?
We want to wake up, be alert, and then the Lord just stand firm. Don't be like the majority of people that just bend like the wind, like like a reed bending every time the wind blows like this band. They laugh at what the world laughs at. They compromise in their speech. They say yes when they should be saying no. They say no when they should be saying saying yes. They're not standing firm, not being bold. Witnesses for the truth stand firm, the Lord says. Act like men.
Now, if you're a woman watching this today, there's no chauvinism going on. It just men are strong. This is how God created meant to be stand like men. And it's not that women don't stand like men. Women can stand like men, too, as it regards the faith. Be strong. That's how the Lord ends. Act like men. Be strong whether you're a man or a woman.
Come on! It's no time to be lukewarm! Jesus said he was going to spit the lukewarm out of his mouth. What are you going to do? Choose ye this day whom you will service for me and my house. I will serve the Lord.
