Summary
In this heartfelt message, Patricia King urges believers to break free from the destructive «orphan spirit"—a demonic mindset of isolation, insecurity, and lack that stems from the devil himself—and to fully embrace the Father’s extravagant, unconditional love revealed through Jesus. Drawing from Scriptures like John 16:32 and personal testimony, she explains how this spirit fuels personal struggles and societal evils, while true healing comes from knowing and drawing near to God as a perfect Father. Ultimately, she calls the church to declare war on this spirit through faith, meditation on God’s fatherly nature, resistance to lies, and intentional pursuit of intimacy with Him, promising transformation and freedom.
Declaring War on the Orphan Spirit
Thank you! I’m excited about planting seeds in your heart this morning, and I feel that this particular time we’re in right now, especially prior to Pentecost, is significant because we’re building up to Pentecost, a feast of the Lord. What we sow during this time, what we invest in this time, is going to bear fruit in the coming days. So, I want you all to be there.
Upcoming Events at Shiloh
If you’re a Shiloh Knight, I want you to attend this event on May 7th and 8th. That’s a Friday night, all day Saturday, and Saturday night. I want you all to register for this. We are having Leif Hetland in to teach on healing the orphan spirit, and I’ll be sharing a message on the orphan spirit this morning.
It is absolutely important that we get freed from that because it is a spirit that has plagued the church and the world. When we align with God and get our souls healed from the damage that spirit has done, it will transform the way we live our lives. You’ll be surprised at how even very influential leaders in the Body of Christ, under Leif’s ministry, have realized, «Oh my gosh, I’ve been plagued by an orphan spirit.»
In fact, I have been setting up my whole ministry from the position of an orphan spirit. They’ve had influential leaders get healed from it and then change their whole ministry because it flows out of a place of secured love. We really want you to register. If you’re online and cannot be here, please come if you can, but if you can’t, the next best thing is to participate online.
I want to emphasize, though, if you are watching online, try really hard to carve out that time and sit under the session. It’s never the same online as it is in person, so do your best to be here in person. There’s going to be a lot of ministry and a lot of impartation. Please visit PatriciaKing.com and register for the event. It’s free! We are covering all the expenses so that everyone can enjoy it.
However, you still need to register so we know who’s coming and can prepare for you and pray for you. So, please register at PatriciaKing.com, whether you’re going to be online or on-site.
Pentecost Revival Week
Also, coming up during Pentecost week, which is from the 20th to the 23rd, Ben and Jody Hughes will be teaching a revival school. We are sowing into revival right now. Most mornings, except for Friday, we have prayer for revival. On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings at nine o’clock in the MPR, we’re praying and contending for revival, for the Lord’s presence to come and apprehend His church.
You’re all invited to come; it will transform your life. On Fridays, we meet in the evening for those who can’t make daytime meetings, from 6:30 to 7:30. We invite you to come to that. During the revival school weekend, we’ll hold revival meetings at night—Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Then, on Sunday night, which is Pentecost Sunday, we will have a blowout service with wind and fire.
It’s going to be a whole week of revival infusion! Mark your calendar; May is going to be an investment month for our lives. You’ll never be the same after you make the investment.
Introduction to the Message
I have a message this morning, and I may keep you a little longer than usual, but you’ll be glad you stayed. I prepared this message thinking I would speak for over two weeks, but I realized I wouldn’t be here next week, so I decided to streamline the message and deliver it all to you now. You’re going to get the whole meal! Amen! Are you hungry? How many of you are hungry?
I want to share a message called «Declaring War on the Orphan Spirit.» This morning, I want to express my appreciation for Susan Cheatham and her heart for worship, the way she leads us, and how she cultivates her team for the presence of the Lord. It’s amazing to have such a gift among us. This morning, we started by singing and declaring breakthrough, and that’s what I declare over each and every one of you this morning—breakthrough.
The Father’s Love for You
I’m going to get right into this because the Father loves you so much. He adores you tremendously. You have no idea how much you are cherished, adored, longed for, and delighted in because that’s His heart for you. He sent Jesus to introduce us to the Father because we’ve been alienated from the Father through the fall.
Jesus said, «If you’ve seen Me, you’ve seen the Father.» He came to introduce us to the Father; we need to be reconciled in that relationship. An orphan is defined as one deprived of parents. It also means one lacking support, provision, and care.
The Origin of the Orphan Spirit
The orphan spirit is a vicious and brutally evil demonic entity. The devil himself is the true orphan; he embodies the orphan spirit and wants us to be conformed into his image and likeness. The scripture teaches that when we come into Christ, we are conformed into Christ’s image from one degree of glory to another.
The enemy, who is a counterfeit, wants to say, «No, I’m not going to let that happen. I want you to be conformed into my image.» And what is his image? An orphan. He made himself an orphan because he was created by God with great authority. He was an archangel; he was Lucifer before he fell.
He was endowed with indescribable beauty and lavished with extravagance. He had open access to God; he was the cherub that covered the mercy seat in the glory presence. He lived in a perfect, flawless love environment and ministered before the Lord, covering other angels. But then, pride entered him. He thought, «I can be greater than my Creator. The Creator, the Father that created me is going to go under my feet, and I will rise above Him.»
Pride entered him, and he tried to overthrow God to establish his own kingdom. A third of the angels in heaven bought into his lie and fell with him. Jesus refers to the devil as a father; He calls him the father of lies. That’s who he is because he tried to usurp the fatherhood of God, attempting to become the father of all. Ultimately, he was cast out.
When pride entered him, it resulted in his being thrown out of God’s presence, along with a third of the angels. That’s his story—it’s the story of a loser, a defeated devil. You do not want to partake in his lies. You want to divorce yourself from anything you have in common with him because you were created by God to be fathered by Him, the Father of all love.
God’s Unique Creation of Man
In the beginning, God created mankind differently than everything else. He created everything on earth and said, «This is good, this is good, this is good, ” but He created man in a unique way. Everything was created through His word except man.
God took man out of the dust of the earth, but it wasn’t dirty dust like we dust in our homes; no, it was formed from glory particles. The earth was filled with glory. Everything that was created was filled with glory. God took those glory particles, formed mankind, and breathed His own breath into man. Man became a living soul, made in the image and likeness of God.
He was given a relationship with the Father, who said, „Here, I’m giving you everything I created. You and I will walk in the garden together. I’ll celebrate you, watch you have dominion, and see you rule. It will be beautiful; you’ll enjoy this utopia that I formed for you to steward. I’ll be right at your side.“ God walked in the garden with man, and they had unbroken fellowship. Man was secure in the Father’s love.
The Fall and the Orphan Spirit’s Entry
But then, the devil, called the serpent, was consumed with jealousy because he knew he had no authority, no blessing from God, and couldn’t walk with God in the garden anymore. He was outside of God’s love and became jealous of man. Since man had authority, he approached man, told a lie about God, and caused Adam and Eve to question their relationship with the Father and the integrity of their Father’s words.
They became insecure, ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil—the fruit of the lie of the Father of Lies. When they did, the supreme orphan, the devil, got what he was looking for: their authority. He became the little-g god of this world and began infecting mankind with his nature.
But that’s not the end of the story! God had a plan from the beginning because He always wanted children. He is our Father and desires that relationship restored through Jesus Christ so that we could once again know that fatherly love and His presence in our midst.
The Orphan Spirit in the World Today
The problems today, both in the world and the church, are primarily fueled by the orphan spirit and luciferianism. Lucifer, by the way, means „light bearer.“ That orphan, the devil, wants to be the father of all. He wants everyone in the world, all of his kingdoms, to be his and to be conformed to him.
As a result, we see in the world things like secret societies fueling global political agendas that are demonic, driven by the Father of Lies. For instance, take Freemasonry or the Illuminati; it’s about illustrating the understanding or illumination of our minds trapped by the Father of Lies.
In Freemasonry, only influencers can join—someone who is well-regarded, powerful, and influential. You must be invited. Once you say yes, you go through a ritual; in the very first ritual, you repeat vows that bind you to the Father of Lies. Each level you move to takes you deeper into that spirit. The highest level of Freemasonry represents the highest level of luciferianism, where one believes their third eye is fully illuminated by Lucifer.
This influences judges, politicians, high-level educators, and media figures, putting the world into the hands of evil through their influence. We cannot change things simply by electing another politician. While it’s essential to pray for political leaders, we need to step into those places as lights for Jesus in the darkness.
If we understand the enemy’s strategy to rule the world and get everyone to deny their true Father while establishing his own order, then he has us. He aims to divorce us from the understanding of the Father. The Father’s purpose is to restore us to Him.
The abortion mandate is luciferian; he’s jealous of the Father’s love for every child. He loves blood because that blood from abortion is a ritual, whether one realizes it or not. The LGBTQ movement and confusion surrounding gender identity stem from a separation from the Father’s love, an inability to recognize acceptance just as God created you to be.
Legalization of recreational drugs serves the same purpose; people turn to substances to cope because they do not know the Father’s love. They feel orphaned and without support.
Child Abuse and Its Consequences
Currently, many children grow up in settings where their parents have been absent or neglectful. The statistics show that many have never known parental love. Most young people today have not been fathered. I’ll provide you with some statistics later, but many in the younger generation grow up without parents present, often raising themselves. Many fathers abandon or abuse their children.
Imagine being abused before even turning one. That experience can lead to decades of emotional pain, seeking to fill that void within regardless of the hurt left behind. That’s why we need healing from these wounds—the truth is, no child should be abused or neglected. Breaking free from those patterns is crucial for recovery and restoration.
In 2019, reports indicated that 4.4 million child maltreatment referrals were made, involving nearly 8 million children. The highest rates of abuse are among children under the age of one. The dreadful reality is that five children die daily due to child abuse.
Behind this is the orphan spirit, seeking to destroy those made in God’s image out of jealousy for the Father’s love for them. Children who experience such abuse and neglect are about nine times more likely to engage in criminal behavior. It’s no wonder crime is rampant.
Get the orphan spirit healed, open your eyes to see the truth, and solidify your identity in the Father’s love. This will transform our society, bringing God’s rule to the earth and empowering the church to make changes.
Symptoms of the Orphan Spirit
I want to highlight some symptoms of the orphan spirit; you might identify with some of these. Recently, I shared these in a meeting, and one influential Christian leader said, „Wow, I have many of those; I really need healing for this.“ Here are some symptoms:
1. Lack of fulfillment—always feeling like nothing is ever good enough.
2. Obsessions with food, exercise, or work—putting attention on other things rather than God.
3. Addictions—looking for something to fulfill you, and ultimately belonging to that addiction.
4. An entitlement mentality—seeking affirmation that will never feel enough.
5. Fishing for compliments—searching for answers to life outside of God’s word.
6. Denying the truth of God’s divine order—wanting to create your own.
7. Broken marriages and families—narcissism, jealousy, and covetousness.
8. Lack of respect for the law—one-upmanship, a drive to acquire possessions.
9. A focus on sexuality triggered by societal pressures and media portrayals—indulging in gross behaviors.
10. Control issues—trying to manage everything yourself because you feel no one else will help.
11. Idolatry of people’s opinions—fretting over how others perceive you.
John 16:32 (Passion Translation) states, „The time has come when you will all be scattered, each one of you going your own way, leaving me alone; yet I am never alone, for the Father is always with me.“ When you’re reconciled to the Father, when you know him, it doesn’t matter if people pass you by or if you feel unvalued; you have the Father, and He is more than enough.
Personal Testimony of Encountering the Father
So, the answer is knowing the Father to experience the Father. I have been sharing this testimony recently as it’s been coming back to me. On the third day after I was born again, I had an experience in the night. I was trying to go to bed, and I heard banging in my closet with grunts and groans. I was scared, pulling up the sheets, shaking, and I needed deliverance from all that.
It felt like a vivid dream, yet it felt real. The Father was in this encounter; He had long, glistening hair and sapphire eyes full of love. He picked me up and threw me into the air, laughing as a father would with his little girl. We enjoyed playing, and afterward, He gave me a ball to play with.
As the ball rolled away, I noticed a dirty little boy with horns on his head. I knew he was the devil, and he tried to persuade me to do something wrong. I was scared but bravely said, „I’m going to tell my daddy on you.“ Suddenly, he fled in terror, and I turned back to my Father, feeling safe and secure.
The Father said, „If you walk with me all the days of your life, you will never fear him again.“ That encounter was not only about deliverance; it was a revelation. Recently, I’ve been contemplating this vision, realizing it introduced me to the Father’s heart.
When I’m in His presence, there’s nothing to fear—only security, love, and celebration. His love for me was not based on my performance; it was because I simply was His child—and that is true for each of you. When you know the love of the Father, it transforms you. Insecurities and fear vanish because you are secure in His love.
Therefore, I have a passion—an intentional desire—to war against the orphan spirit and its agenda, calling the whole Body of Christ into the Father’s arms.
Declaring War on the Orphan Spirit
Let me give you some points on declaring war on the orphan spirit:
1. Believe the Father loves you: no matter what the enemy says. Don’t believe the lies of alienation; your identity is wrapped up in the Father’s love.
2. Meditate on God’s fatherly attributes: Whatever you focus on, you empower; focus on His acceptance.
3. Draw near to Him: His arms are open. James 4:7-8 says to submit to God, resist the devil, and draw near to Him.
4. Identify temptations of the orphan spirit: and resist them. Call out the lies that don’t belong to you.
5. Make a quality decision to follow the Father: Know His ways, truth, and word.
God wants you free from an orphan mentality. Only you can invest in your healing. Take this next season, sow into strong foundations, and strengthen your life in the Lord. When you experience the healing process, when you get free from orphan thinking, and live in the fullness of the Father’s love, it will transform your life.
Prayer
How many of you in the room and online identify with the need to fight that orphan spirit? Stand to your feet right now; I’m going to pray for those who recognize their need.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I release Your Father’s love. I break the power of the orphan mindset, declaring war on it. Not one of Your dear children should believe for a moment that they aren’t perfectly loved. Fill them with belonging right now. Fill them with satisfaction and delight in Your presence, Lord, so they can move forward in freedom and grace. In Jesus' name, Amen!
