Summary
Patricia King reminds us that we're living in times much like Elijah's, when idolatry and sexual perversion were rampant in Israel under Ahab and Jezebel, and she draws strong parallels to today's cultural battles with immorality, abortion, and deception in the church. Drawing from 1 Kings 16-19, she calls believers to rise up as a company of modern-day Elijahs—fearless, devoted voices who confront compromise and prepare the way for the Lord. In the end, God is cleansing His house, raising a holy remnant to stand for purity and truth, promising great power and revival even in dark days.
These Are the Days of Elijah
These are the days of Elijah, written by Robin Mark a number of years ago. I love this song; I believe it’s so prophetic for our day. But I just want to reiterate verse 1. It says, “These are the days of Elijah, declaring the word of the Lord; and these are the days of your servant Moses, righteousness being restored. And though these are days of great trial, of famine and darkness and sword, still we are the voice in the desert crying, prepare ye the way of the Lord.” I think that’s a word for Shiloh. You know, we’re in the desert literally, and I truly love the chorus as we sang this morning: He’s coming riding on a cloud. He is our jubilee; it is so amazing.
A Shift in 2020
But we know that 2020 marked for us a brand new era. From 1950 to 2020, we sealed up an era that was full of peace, abundance, and affluence. Every western nation, every Christian nation on the face of the earth—in fact, they’re not called Christian nations anymore; most of them are not identifying as Christian nations unfortunately—but we’ll still call them Christian nations because we’re going to decree it over them, right? However, every Christian nation, every western nation was really visited by a season of peace for the most part, a season of affluence, a season where you could dream big and accomplish any dream, a season without religious oppression, where you had religious freedom.
You had the freedom to worship; in fact, your worship of God was celebrated, and so was the word of God. That was the last era that we moved in, but marking in 2020, something shifted. How many of you felt the shift? You could feel it, and even circumstances in the world painted the picture for us. So we entered last year with a global pandemic that had tremendous influence in the nations of the world. Not just one nation, but every nation was affected by it.
The Spiritual Battle Behind the Scenes
I’m just going to be brutally honest here; I’m really not convinced that that virus is as treacherous as they say it is. Okay? But there is a treachery of the enemy’s plan behind it, and it’s way bigger than affecting bodies with a flu bug. It’s way bigger than that; it is setting things up for shifts in the future that will fight against God and His anointing. That’s what’s behind it all in the spirit.
If you look behind the natural into the spirit realm where Paul says that our battle is not against flesh and blood, it is against powers and principalities and forces of wickedness. When those spirits are released to come against the Lord and His anointing, it starts to change things in the natural. You’ll start to see political decisions being made because of that pressure. You’ll start to see in the education system different teachings introduced.
You’ll start to see—in fact, we know of a situation in our own city where powerful Christians standing on the word, defending the faith, are being challenged in their positions, being lied about, being removed from positions of authority in the church or in the school systems. So we see this kind of thing happening. There’s way more behind this than a flu epidemic—way more behind it. So we need to wake up; we need to realize what is going on behind the scenes so that we can stand with the Lord.
Similarities to Elijah's Time
These are like the days of Elijah, and so I want to try to bring a picture to you of Elijah’s day so we can see the similarities of it for today, and then just ask the Lord, where do we stand in this? I know many are saying, “Hey, 2020 is over, and now we’re going to go back to normal, and things are going to get better in 2021.” But I’m telling you, I wish I could say 2021 is going to be your easiest year ever, but it is going to be full of real challenging situations on every level.
But that is really, really good. Why? Because God accelerates demonstrations of His power during difficult times. He makes great history during times when He’s being opposed, when His people are being opposed, during times of resistance and oppression. That’s where God really makes a dent in the earth, and so when we’re on His team, we can’t go wrong. When He is everything to us, when He means everything to us, we will always be found inside His grace, and in that grace, there is shalom, there is peace—everything that we need.
God Moves in Hard Times
Examples would be like in Moses' day. Moses was a great leader; we read in the Bible all these great Bible stories. Don’t you love the story about Moses delivering Israel out of Egypt and going through the wilderness? It was so powerful! But you understand that he was raised up in a really challenging day. They were killing all the babies back in that day—sound familiar?
They were coming against people of faith; they were oppressing God’s people. They were putting all kinds of laws and taxation upon God’s people, making them work and labor so hard for so little. That was happening in Moses' day; it wasn’t a glorious day. But when we read the outcome of it, it’s glorious. We don’t read the book of Moses and see the story of everything that he did and then get all depressed over it because he went through such a hard time.
We don’t even hardly pay attention to the hard time of the day; we pay attention to what God did through Moses and the great exploits. He had to actually challenge sorcerers, he had to challenge Pharaoh; he had to challenge the forces that were coming against him. He did it with the power of God, and it didn’t look good at those times. It wasn’t like, “Oh wow, didn’t that turn out great?” No, the king just oppressed the people even more.
But at the end of the day, look what happened! We get some of the greatest miracles in the Bible during difficult times. The Red Sea parted; they went across; manna fell from heaven. That was all in a really difficult time. I’m telling you, your God is going to do great things in this next season, and we get to produce them, and we get to be a part of it.
Biblical Heroes in Challenging Eras
We look at lives such as Joseph in Egypt; we look at Elijah, what he went through; it was not an easy day, and I’ll go into that later. Look at Jeremiah and Daniel, John the Baptist, Jesus, the apostles, and the early church—they were all in very challenging times. It was not easy to be a believer in those times, but we don’t know really what that’s like because we have lived in a time of great ease.
Well, I mean, we hear stories about the persecuted church and we cry because we have compassion, but we’ve never tasted it. We’ve never had to understand how much our faith means to us in a difficult time. It’s easy to say when times are going good, “Oh, I love the Lord; isn’t He awesome?” But do we still have that testimony when times are difficult, when times are challenging? Is He number one in our life?
Because if you read through the Bible in all of these challenging times, they rose up with God as number one in their heart, and they made history for Him, and they proclaimed His name and made His name great to this very day and for all eternity. What we choose in this day is going to influence eternity. We get to enjoy the fruit of our devotion to God for all eternity; it’s being marked in heaven.
A Company of Elijahs Rising
So God is raising up a company of Elijahs in this day—not just one voice, not just the voice like what Elijah was or like John the Baptist was preparing the way of the Lord, but a whole company of believers who are going to carry the heart that God put in Elijah, and that’s you! I see that anointing on you. I see His ability in you. I see that standard in you. I see that love for God in you.
The very same, it says in the book of James that Elijah was a man just like us. He wasn’t like some great guy that was powerful in himself; it says he was a man just like us. But he prayed, and when he prayed, he shut the heavens so that there was no rain. When he prayed again, there was rain. He had this authority that came forth from him because he was devoted to God, because he was one with God. That’s who you are! That’s who you are.
I want you to see who you are because God is raising up a great company of Elijahs. So when we think of Elijah, what do we think of? We think of a man who is fearless, boy that’s for sure! Although he got attacked with fear—and we’ll go into that later—after he did great exploits, he was bold, he was a courageous prophet for sure; he was righteous, he was uncompromised, he was vigilant, he was obedient, he confronted evil in his day without apology, he manifested great power in the name of the Lord, and his zeal for God alone is what empowered him. He just lived because of that zeal for God.
Does that zeal for God burn in you? Is He number one in your life? Does He mean everything to you? So God is asking us, “Will you be my voice in this hour? Will you be one who operates in the same way as Elijah for My glory? Will you be someone who will raise the bar in a really dark world?” I wish I could say that the world is going to get lighter; it is not. The church has the opportunity to shine more brightly, but the world itself is not; it’s actually on a spiral down right now. That’s why we have to intervene with some revival, and that’s another message.
Elijah's Historical Context
But the days of Elijah, which I want to turn you to, are in First Kings chapters 16 and 17. Please read those chapters this week and just meditate on them; there’s a lot of history in it and lots of revelation for you. Just giving you a recap, Israel was very compromised in that day, and they had turned to idols. They were given over to inordinate affections through the leadership of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel.
Pray for your leaders; as a leader goes, so goes the people. That’s why here at Shiloh we take our servant role as leaders in the fear of the Lord because we know that what we represent—our behaviors, our choices, the words we speak—they have influence, and people will follow leaders. King Ahab, he was a very wicked king, and by the way, Jezebel didn’t make Ahab wicked; Ahab was already wicked before Jezebel came on the scene.
But the thing is, when you give yourself over to wickedness, then you attract more wickedness—it’s God’s law of attraction. Be careful how you position your heart; watch over your heart with all diligence; love Him with all your heart. Ahab lost love for God and started loving himself; he started loving his own body, his own pleasures, his own longings. His narcissistic heart turned him away from God, and he used his leadership position that was given to him by God.
You see, just because God put someone in leadership doesn’t mean they’re going to be a good leader; that is consistent in the Bible. You can see that. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out. It is just the way it is. God will anoint someone, and He will appoint someone, but you have your choice as to how you’re going to live it out.
Ahab's Wickedness and Baal Worship
King Ahab decided not to be a good king; he just wanted to fulfill his own pleasure. He did not care about God’s glory or His righteousness; he didn’t care about the people either, and so he was wayward. And God said in First Kings 16, I think it’s in verse 30 or something, that King Ahab was the most wicked, the most evil king up to that day that there had ever been in Israel.
Now, everyone in all of eternity is going to know who Ahab is, and you know you all have a book written about you in heaven. There are books in heaven that not only have your destiny in it but have your life, your choices—everything. The Bible reveals some of this to us; like Ahab is going to be remembered as a wicked king for all eternity. And so we need to make sure that our book that’s being written is a good one, just saying. And do not be mocked; God says He is not mocked because whatever you sow, you’re going to reap.
Ahab gave himself over to all these vices and everything; he married Queen Jezebel, who was from Sidon, by the way, where Baal worship was the predominant religion of that region. So King Ahab left to serve Baal; he wasn’t studied under Baal. At that time, when he came back into Israel with this belief, with this deception that he was in, he started proclaiming it because he was a leader, and it influenced the nation.
Now, are you hearing this? We need to be influenced by God; we need to be influenced by His word, not by what is out there in the world or contrary deceptive teachings that are out there trying to get in. Ahab was God’s king over God’s people, but he was teaching them deception. There is a deceiving spirit out there that I want to give you warning about, and if you ever hear a teaching that turns you away from the word, that contradicts the word, that leads you into a license to sin, then you run as fast as you can away from that word. Don’t partner with it; don’t partner with it.
And if you have the opportunity, confront it because we need to be living in the word of God, especially in the hour that’s coming because of the level of deception that is going to be out there. Jesus said a deception is coming that’s going to be so great that it would even deceive the elect if possible, but we’re not going to let that happen to us or to anyone in our watch. We are crying out to God as leaders that everyone in our care is going to stand strong in Jesus—pure and righteous, walking in the truth as He is in the truth—loving God and loving people as He has taught us to do.
The Spread of Baal in Israel
But in Israel’s day, where Elijah was called a prophet to the people, Baal had infected the people with this false doctrine, and most of it was regarding sexual deity, sexual promiscuity, sexual perversion. A lot of Bible scholars believe that Jezebel actually brought with her out of Sidon 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of the Asherah; that could very well be true.
But I personally believe that a lot of those prophets didn’t come from Sidon; they were right from Israel because they had believed what the king had told them. They got infected with deception and became prophets for Baal. A prophet is a voice piece for a deity, and they became a voice piece for Baal’s doctrines of promiscuity, of perversion, of sexual idolatry. They became a voice piece, so I actually believe that a lot of those prophets of Baal and the Asherah were originally God’s people.
There are people today in the church that are preaching things that are not true, that are preaching immoral things. Whole churches are changing their constitutions to support sexual conduct that is anti-biblical. We need to know who our God is, know who we are in Him, and know how we’re going to stand in these days; otherwise, we’ll end up the same. We’ll become a voice piece for sin.
The Jezebel Spirit Today
Now Jezebel, she was a case, wasn’t she? But her spirit is still active in the church today, and she would actually kill the prophets who would confront the deception that was going on. I’m going to tell you when you start preaching the truth, especially if you do it over social media, right now, don’t be surprised if you get whacked big and proper! But don’t let it cut your head off; you need your mouth! Don’t let it cut your head off; you just keep being strong.
She was killing prophets; she was chopping their heads off, and then Obadiah, who was working in Ahab’s house, he was kind of his personal assistant in a way. He was a righteous man in the midst of the evil and was protecting the prophets and actually hid a hundred of them out in caves so that they would be protected from Jezebel’s onslaught. God always has His people in any hour that will be right in the midst of the darkness but stand for Him. They won’t be part of the darkness; they’ll just be standing in the midst of it.
Elijah Confronts Ahab
So Elijah, in that hour where everything was going on, he was directed by the word of the Lord to confront Ahab and to draw the prophets of Baal and the prophets of Asherah to Carmel. When he did that, Ahab said, “You troubler of Israel.” Imagine that! Does that ever happen to any of you where you confront something that is not right for the sake of justice, for the sake of righteousness, and all of a sudden you’re called the troubler?
Well, join the club; that’s what happened to Elijah in that day. Elijah confronted him back though; he said, “What, you’re calling me the troubler of Israel? You’re the troubler of Israel.” He just called it as it was. But I want to share with you a little bit about this Baal spirit because I believe that this spirit is trying to take over nations, and in particular, the United States of America, and he’s trying to get into the church. So I want to spend a little bit of time with this.
It’s really interesting that in 2016, the ark of Baal—I don’t know; it might have been a replica—was placed right in Times Square in New York. Now, what is that? And then another one in DC? The enemy is strategically—we’re talking about spiritual deception that’s behind the scenes—moving on people’s lives to do things they probably don’t even know why they’re doing it. But the enemy’s got a plan so that in all these strategic places they’re setting up the ark of Baal.
And so we need to be aware of this, that there is a predominant spirit in our culture that needs to be identified so that we don’t partake of it. Now Baal was the Canaanite deity, and Israel was supposed to destroy the gods of the Canaanites when they went in to conquer the land—not partake of them, not hold hands with them. We’re not to be holding hands with the world; we’re to be separate. We have a separate code of values that the world lives in.
Understanding Baal Worship
But he was considered to be, listen to this, the god of fertility, the god of the land and the rain. They believed that Baal was what gave rain to the land, and then the land was fertile because he released the rain. Interesting that Elijah stopped the rain for three and a half years. You know what he was doing? That wasn’t just a random act. Elijah didn’t stop the rain as a random act; he was confronting in the spirit the Baal spirit, and he was trying to show the people of Israel—although they were very dull of hearing—show them, “Your god that you’re serving, that you think is the god of rain, isn’t producing any rain for you. There is drought for three and a half years.”
But you know what? There wasn’t drought in Elijah’s life because God looked after Elijah, and He will look after all of His people no matter what happens in the world. Elijah always had water, and he always had food; he had everything he needed, and so will you. They believed that he owned the land; they believed that Baal owned the land, and they believed that he controlled its weather and the increase of their crops and their cattle.
It was also believed that the people of that day had this belief that he had conquered and destroyed all the other gods; therefore, he was the chief. Baal was revered, and promoted, and worshiped by Ahab and Jezebel. Now, the Baal worshipers—listen to this one; this is very interesting—they offered sacrifices, usually animals such as sheep or bulls. So what did Elijah put on the altar? He put a bull on the altar because he was going to smash the power of Baal in the spirit.
His followers also slashed themselves, which they did. There are a lot of cutters today, have you noticed that? It is a major issue today and it’s an attack of this spirit. I really believe it’s after our younger generation in particular. They slash themselves, and listen to this, they sacrifice their children, mainly the firstborn male, by fire in times of crisis. For example, if there was a famine, they would sacrifice their children to Baal to try to get him to give them a breakthrough—sound familiar?
Asherah and Sexual Perversion
Okay, the Asherah was considered to be the goddess of fertility, and archaeologists have discovered different ruins and figures which they are convinced represent her. She is portrayed as a nude female, sometimes pregnant and with exaggerated breasts. The Bible indicates that she was worshipped in Bible days near trees and poles, and they were called Asherah poles of worship.
Asherah was worshipped in various ways—this is a historical account; I did some research on it—including through ritual sex, with lewd dances, and sacred sexual orgies. They believed that the sexual union of Baal and Asherah would produce fertility, and so their worshipers engaged in immoral sex because they believed it would cause the gods to join together to ensure good harvest. What a deception! And all along, they had God, Jehovah God. There’s no god like Jehovah!
All along, they had Jehovah who was their God who would have blessed their land, blessed their fertility, blessed everything, but they gave themselves over to a deception that cursed them and fell short of everything they believed He would do. So this practice of the sexual orgies and everything going on became the basis for religious temple prostitution. It was brought right into the temple.
The priests or male members of the community represented Baal in it, and the priestess and female members of the community represented Asherah. In this way, the holy sexual union between a man and his wife was perverted through the most obscene public displays of perversion in the temple—in the house of God. Whoa!
Baal's Influence in Modern Culture
I’m telling you, I wish I could say that the house of God in America is pure. I wish I could say that there is no sexual perversion in the house of God. I wish I could say that there is faithfulness in marriage in the house of God, but I believe this spirit has gotten into the nation and into the church, and it has promoted lust, has enticed our whole culture through media, mainly with this sexual deity, that sexuality is being worshipped—perversion is being worshipped.
People are selling out in their marriages, their finances, and everything because they’re bound by pornography. That is not God that brings that kind of bondage. When you follow God’s way, you will never be bound like that. But when you follow Baal, you will; he will bind you to the core and take everything that you have. I know people with pornographic addictions who have lost everything! They’ve lost their wives, their children, their money—they’ve lost everything, and they’re still in pornography. We’ve got to wake up!
We’ve even Christian ministries promoting erratic sex within marriage. Now, there’s nothing wrong with having, you know, just loving each other to a point where you enjoy the ecstasy of what God has given in marriage, but it is never to be the primary point. You don’t get married just so that you can have some good sex! In fact, the standard in the Bible is that you don’t even engage sexually until after you are married, until after you make covenant, and then you consummate the marriage through the sexual act.
God's Design for Intimacy
That’s because God wants us to connect with our spouse’s heart to heart—in an intimacy that is in Him, in an intimacy that is based on His goodness and our love for one another. It becomes so deep and so strong that we are willing to commit our entire life to that person and make a lifelong covenant to them to love them with everything that we have.
Thus, the sexual union becomes very natural; it’s just an outpouring of flowing of our love into that place of intimacy that goes deep. The sexual union is the union that affects spirit, soul, and body; it’s the only union that affects spirit, soul, and body. You become one spirit with the one that you are with. That’s why, you know, when you repent from that kind of lifestyle, you need to have a lot of soul ties cut out and a lot of demonic powers cut off.
We’ve seen a lot of that—many people mentally disturbed in everything because of what was going on in that way. We’re living in a culture that actually promotes promiscuity. If you turn on your television, I’m telling you, even advertisements—children right now, I’m talking pretty candidly, and there are some children listening; but you know what, they might as well hear it in church because it’s all over the media.
You just turn on an advertisement, and you’ll see a couple of men kissing each other, a couple of girls kissing each other. You turn on almost any show, and it’ll have a bedroom scene—not just anything from a distance; it shows pretty close up what they’re doing. It’s porn! And children are watching this on television all the time now. They’re hearing about it in the schools; they’re seeing it on the internet.
We need to speak more about this in the church. We need to raise the bar, or we’re going to lose a generation. We need to show them the beauty of the holiness of the union that God has given to families, to marriage, and hold that in regard, hold it sacred. You don’t get around on a social night and talk with each other about the hot sex you’ve had with your wife because it paints pictures inside of people’s minds and provokes a thinking about lust rather than intimacy, and that’s dangerous.
That gives over to the spirit that’s trying to get into America, that’s trying to affect our youth, that is trying to affect this next generation. That’s trying to make a model for families that has nothing to do with God’s model for the family, and we need to raise the bar. And God’s going to raise up a company of Elijahs that are going to raise the bar and not be afraid to be different, not be afraid to settle the issue with God and speak it before people.
Sexual Idolatry Today
Elijah’s day—in Elijah’s day, Israel engaged in worship of gods promoting sexual perversion—a key theme of his day. A key theme, the idolatry of his day was sexually based, and that’s what we’re seeing today. That’s what we’re seeing today for a really good portion of the falling away that’s taking place—sexuality is being worshiped.
So Elijah’s confrontation, because God will always raise up the standard against the enemy, and we need to be patient because He will always eventually come through. He gives time to repent, so when He’s giving time, don’t think He’s giving endorsement. Don’t think just because He hasn’t acted, and closed the deal, and finished the issue, don’t think that it’s not going to happen. He’s giving time to repent. He is a patient God; He is a loving God; He does not want to hurt anyone; He wants everyone to be safe; He wants everyone to come into Him and into His ways.
Repairing the Altar
So Elijah’s confrontation: First of all, he prophesied the drought—three and a half years of drought—and by that, he was confronting the god of the rain that the people put their trust in. Secondly, he repaired the altar. When he brought the confrontation to the prophets of Baal, the first thing Elijah did was repair the altar.
I felt the Holy Spirit speak to me so strongly that the church needs to repair the altar. We need to repair our personal altars. We have gotten so busy and so used to, “Oh, I’ll just turn on a YouTube preacher or something” and sitting under it that we aren’t before the Lord anymore. We’ll just wake up and say, “Hi God, good morning God; see you later God,” and He says, “Where’s my altar?”
We need to get that altar back! When was the last time that any of us were before the Lord like in revival days—like in the Welsh revival, in the Azusa Street revival, in the early days of Pentecost—where they would wail at the front of the altar and remain there and tarry there until they were set free or until they received the Holy Spirit? They would go before the Lord, but now we’re saying, “I just need a counselor,” or “I need, you know, I just need another zap of the Holy Spirit; I’ll just see if I can get zapped, and maybe then I’ll be right with God.”
But we’re not bringing our hearts before Him with all that is within us and saying, “God, here I am, and I’m not satisfied until You have it all.” He repaired the altar. It’s time to repair personal altars and family altars.
The Power After Sacrifice
The ox and the bull that was to be sacrificed was the symbol of Baal, so he confronted their sacrifice. You’ll notice that oftentimes God will display power after sacrifice. After sacrifice, Elijah prepared the sacrifice, and you need to understand they were in drought for three and a half years; their cattle were dead. Droughts produce famine, but Elijah takes the ox before the Lord and gives it unto the Lord, and he had water fill the trench around the sacrifice.
It’s in a season of drought; where did the water come from? He just kept saying, “Pour it on! Pour on more! Bring me some more!” Because he was willing to give it all to God, every last drop. And then he called down fire from heaven, and that fire was what they used to sacrifice their children with, and he called down fire to consume it all—God’s fire, the fire of every fire!
And I don’t know about you, but I’m telling you I want to be on God’s side; I want to be on God’s side! I want to do it His way! I don’t want to be subject to the judgment that comes upon these false gods and these deceptions that are out there. I don’t want to be inside of it when God judges those demons; because if you’re inside of it, you’ll hurt with the judgment as well! I want to be a hundred percent for God—one hundred percent; nothing close to the line! I just want to be a hundred percent for God with everything that I have!
When the Baal worshipers cried, “The Lord, He is God,” every single one of them, through the power display that came following the sacrifice, following the repairing of the altar—that’s when the power came, and then they all said, “The Lord, He is God; the Lord, He is God!” No longer were they hesitating between two opinions. No longer were they saying, “Okay, well, we’re Christians, but we also believe in this.” No! We’re this and that in God! There’s just one; the Lord our God is one God! We don’t serve God and Baal, and he confronted that! And we need to confront that in this day as well.
Birthing the Prophetic Promise
Elijah prophesied rain, and he births—he brings birth—after he prophesied the rain coming. He goes and births it. Now, I just want to say probably later today I’m going to do a live stream about some of the prophetic things that need to be addressed right now. I’m gonna give my heart on it because there’s just been so many comments and questions coming in. You know, “Why did the prophets prophesy wrongly about COVID? What about the election? What’s going to happen in the election? Why should we listen to any prophets or all this and that?” We’re going to sort that out, but I just want to say God’s got a plan to cleanse the prophetic movement, and it will be cleansed.
But in the meantime, don’t throw away the prophetic because that’s a plot of the enemy! A plot of the enemy is to throw away the prophetic because God does nothing in the earth according to Amos 3:7 unless He reveals it first prophetically. So we need the prophetic! Paul said, “Despise not prophesying.” We need the prophetic! So don’t throw it away and don’t say, “I’m not going to listen to anything more,” although we need to be careful what we listen to.
But God’s going to work it out, so I will address that later. One of the things about the prophetic is that most of the time, especially in the New Testament, a prophetic word from God is a revealing of His will, and it is not a guarantee; it depends on how we position ourselves. Do you know that this whole word is prophetic? The testimony of Jesus—this whole word is the testimony of Jesus! And there’s promises that God says He will do for you, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to manifest in the way that He said it because it needs partnership with His people; it needs alignment with His people.
So I’ll just say that; we see the example of this where Elijah goes before the Lord after he prophesies, and he remains in prayer with his head between his knees in intercession until the prophetic promise is birthed. I just want to say we can abort some of the prophetic promises that are out there now by choosing to disbelieve, by choosing to, you know, “Oh well, whatever, you know, we’ll just go back into laxadaisical Christianity.” We need to be fervent! We need to understand what the will of God is, and we need to storm, and we need to remain until the promise is birthed.
Some of you have promises that God has given you, but you’ve not seen the manifestation yet. Sometimes it’s a matter of timing, but sometimes it’s a matter of birthing them! You need to bring birth to them! And sometimes we don’t even understand some of the elements, and that’s where we have to go before the Lord and put things on the altar before Him. But we’re going to go before Him!
Supernatural Empowerment
And then after the rain came, what did Elijah do? Supernatural power was given to him to outrun Ahab to Jezreel. Supernatural power filled him, and it’s going to fill you too! The Lord’s going to be with you as you take a stand for Him.
Now, after all these great things happen, Elijah’s confronted the prophets of Baal; he’s shown the power of God; the heads of the false prophets are cut off—this is pretty big—that would have been on all the news broadcasts in that day for sure! But even after all that, do you know that Ahab and Jezebel did not repent? After all of it, the king and the queen did not repent, which meant there would still be influence of that within the land, that some of the people in the land would have followed.
And Jezebel had the guts—the, oh, I just feel the growl in me—to actually confront Elijah and say, “You know what? You came after us! I’m going to go after you, and you’re dead!” Unfortunately, Elijah got fearful; he got fearful, he got depressed, and he believed her threat. I want to give you a warning: she will—that spirit will come after you! You say, “Well, I won’t do anything then; she won’t come after me.” Oh yeah, it’s just a different way!
But when you feel intimidated and when you feel that spirit coming against you to knock you down, don’t let it! Know who you are! Remember who you are! And I know that if Elijah was here today, he would say this to us: he’d say, “I fell into the trap of fear; I got intimidated; I felt depressed; I got deceived myself into thinking that I was the only one that was standing for God when really He had kept seven thousand others who had not bowed their knee to Baal.” He would tell you the same thing; he would say, “Be strong! Don’t be worried about that Jezebel!”
Jezebel finally got taken out—eaten up by dogs, not a very nice ending. But you and I have a nice ending; we’re not going to be eaten up by dogs! We’re going to be in the glory for all eternity! This is worth contending for, folks! This is worth contending for.
Modern Parallels to Elijah's Day
The similarities between Elijah’s day and today: idolatry, the idolizing, the promoting, and the tolerating of sexual perversion, sexual sin, pornography, immorality, fornication, adultery, sexting—which a lot of Christians think is just fine—it is not okay! Homosexuality, swinging between couples, sex toys, etc., and also a lot of self-idolatry and narcissism—that is huge today!
Now, if you’re in the trap, God doesn’t want you condemned; He doesn’t want you to feel judged. He wants you free; He wants you free! If you have fallen into the deception, that’s why God is bringing this word to bring to light so that you can come free because He loves you. He’s not angry with you; He loves you!
Now if you refuse to repent and if you start being a proclaimer of Baal, you will get your head cut off! I just want to say it’s not okay to be a predator; it’s not okay to know what’s wrong and continue to lead the bondservants of the Lord astray; it is just not okay! And there’s no compassion on that. But is there compassion on someone who is trapped? Oh yes! Is there compassion for someone who is deceived? Oh yes! God’s compassion is so great He will do whatever it takes to deliver you out of it, but we need to identify the difference because there is a difference between a predator and a victim.
Secondly, child sacrifice today: we have abortion, sex trafficking of children, organ trafficking of children—this is all going on today, same as it did then. Thirdly, rebellion against righteous values and truth and the normalization of unrighteousness! Beware of this! Be a voice against it! Be a voice for God in resistance to the prophets who are bringing confrontation and calling for alignment. We’re seeing that in this day too, but it happened in Elijah’s day.
These are the days of Elijah; these are the same, but we need restoration! We need the spirit of Elijah to come in and through the church to restore the hearts of the fathers to the children, the children to the fathers, and bring healing to these generations that are in confusion. We need to come back to God; we need to prepare the way of the Lord.
Prophetic Word from the Lord
So, I’m going to close with this. The Lord gave me a prophetic word that I wrote down as He was giving it to me. It came with a lot of awe and presence—if I could say it like that—the fear of the Lord. And I’m going to read it out; I want you to close your eyes and I want you to think on this.
By the way, not this week but next week sometime, I’m going to be putting my first five words for the year out with all the prophecy, with all the teaching outlines and everything. I’m going to be giving it through email, and don’t email me and ask me for a different way; that’s the only way we’re going to do it! So sign up to Patricia King; there’s an email thing there; sign up there and we will send it to every single person on the email list next week. It’s just too confusing to try to send a file out here, a file out there, a file out there; we’re gonna do it all at once.
Okay, so here’s the prophecy: “Close your eyes and listen to the word of the Lord. Look around you,” says the Lord. “What do you see? Is it not even in your midst as it was in Elijah’s day when My people’s hearts were turned away from the Lord their God and pursued the gods of sexuality and perversion? Are there not those who have sacrificed their children, even the unborn, on the altars of Baal in these days?
Many have perverted what I have called sacred and have worshiped the lust of their own flesh. They have transgressed My word and have dishonored Me. They have idolized that which brings pleasure to their senses. They have given themselves over to gluttonous affections for their god. Their god is their belly, and they have little regard for Me, the one true God. Even though I bought them with a price, I say to you, I am God; I am your creator, and I will not be mocked!
I will cleanse My church! I will send My prophets, even as I sent Elijah, to confront the compromise of My people, for this idolatry I speak of is within My own church, and it is within the hearts of My own people. This is a day when many call good evil and evil good. This is a day when many have tolerated Jezebel, who teaches My people to worship idols and leads them into immorality.
But is not My word as a fire and as a hammer and as a sword? I shall surely bring forth My word as a consuming fire to burn up the dross. I shall shatter the deceptions in the midst of My church, even as a hammer shatters a rock, and I will pierce into the hearts of My people with a mighty sword of My truth. My word shall confront, consume, shatter, sift, and separate!
I will cleanse My church, and I will expose the things that are being performed in hiddenness. Repent while there is time! Do not let the wages of sin bring death to you, to your dreams, your life, and to your future! I am raising up My Elijahs in this hour who will confront immorality, idolatry, and rebellion, for there is rebellion and disobedience in My house, and it is as witchcraft.
I will no longer have My people sacrifice their children to Baal on the altar of abortion or teach them that evil is good and good is evil. My company of Elijahs will not bow to Baal, Asherah, or any other false gods; neither will they fear the taunting voice of a Jezebel spirit, but they will be strong in Me and in the strength of My might.
The altars will once again be filled with those whose hearts are broken and contrite; there will be true tears and groans of repentance before Me. It is time to return! Do not hide your transgressions, but rather bring them into the light. Remain at the altar crying out to Me, seeking My face, for I am your deliverer. My altars have been empty for too long! Where are the days when My people would tarry for the breakthrough? Where are the days when they would weep between the porch and the altar?
Do not say, ‘I simply need a program or a counselor, or I need my past healed,’ but fall on Me, the rock of your salvation, and repent until you are free! For I will set you free! Remain before Me until freedom comes; humble yourself before Me; take up your cross, embrace it; do not let go of it! For when you die to the things that are working to destroy you, then they will lose their power!
You will rise up from the altar strong, delivered, and awakened! Remain therefore, remain before Me pressing in with desperation, expectation, and faith until your breakthrough comes! The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but I have come that you would have life in abundance!
My company of Elijahs will be opposed and persecuted for taking their stand, but the reward in heaven will be great! There are many who have not bowed their knee to Baal, for I have seen their hearts, and I’ve kept them from the snares of the enemy. Many will turn to Me in My holiness in this hour, for I’m raising up a remnant who will contend for sexual purity and who will be filled with sweet submission to My word and My Spirit.
I am raising up a remnant who will love Me from their heart and refuse to give their affections to the idols of this world. These ones will know My joy and My blessing! They will call for a moral revolution with a clear sound. Many will respond to the sound and will join with their voice; you will watch it grow.
But even amongst My own people, there will be those who will oppose; they will even twist and misrepresent My word in order to endorse flesh-inspired behaviors. Beware and avoid such ones as this! My Spirit is holy and is with you to lead and guide you into truth in the midst of an evil day! He will convict you who are given to the world and its lust concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment; He will set you free! This is My grace; this is My love!”
Prayer
Father, we pray that as that word goes out, it will not return void but it will accomplish everything that you have sent it to do because, Lord, you are raising the bar in this hour; you are raising the standard in this hour; you are bringing light into the midst of darkness! As the world gets darker, your church will get lighter!
And I see that as we position ourselves before the Lord in this hour as a remnant who loves Him, as a remnant who is sold out to Him, as a remnant who longs for Him, that we are going to see revival; we’re going to see houses of revival; we’re going to see revivalists raised up; we’re going to see His glory presence come and manifest—manifest power, manifest authority—such as we’ve never seen before! The best in the kingdom is yet to come! There is going to be a display; there is going to be power clashes in this next season.
But the Lord says, “Remember who I am, for there is no god like Jehovah! There is no god like Me! I am the God of all power! Just because you have not seen Me move yet doesn’t mean the course is finished, for I have the final say and I have the final work,” says the Lord. “And I will do it! I will do it in your midst!”
I can’t stop prophesying right now; I feel such a blessing of the Lord on this house! I feel that even as the Lord has saturated our hearts in His grace, and we have known His grace, that our passion for Him is going to be born out of that grace that leads us to live godly. If there is not a godly behavior, there is no grace, because grace will always lead you to live godly.
And I see the outpouring of grace upon this house, and I see the blessing of the Lord upon this house because you have allowed grace to come. And I see a great company of prophets emerging! I see more dreams; I see more visions; I see more inspired revelation being given by the Spirit of the Lord for those of you in this house. For the Lord says, “This is a prophetic house; this is a prophetic house.”
And I see souls coming to the kingdom! What I’m seeing is that they’re lost souls within the church. Whoa! And the Lord has such love for them. And the Lord says, “I’m gonna give you love; I’m gonna give you love for those who have the hardest of hearts because I love them! I will show you how I love them, even those who are rebellious against Me. I will show you love for them that will draw them back,” the Lord says.
“Not everyone is going to come back; not everyone is going to come back! There will be a number who will stand against Me who once knew Me. I would have My people to fear Me in this hour because there is a point that you can cross over where the enemy will not let you come back. You see, he has ownership of us when we give over to sin; he takes ownership. That’s why this nation is in trouble!
I remind you of the vision I had on June 27, 2020, the two baskets representing the church—one was filling up with sin and rebellion; the other with prayer and repentance. And the Lord said one of them is going to produce a tipping point! And that basket that produces the tipping point will have influence in the nation. Which one is it?
The Lord will always have a remnant, and that’s where we stand! We stand with You, Lord! But we want the whole body to come into alignment with You because this is the most glorious hour! But the Lord says, “I can win by many or by few.”
Thank You, Father! And I just want us at the beginning of this year to make a fresh commitment to Jesus. We sang about it earlier: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! We call upon His name and this is a time when we’re going to say—and especially our young people—I really want our young people to get this: this is a time to give our lives to Jesus and live all your days for Him! There’s no better way to live!
I believe that the Holy Spirit is going to empower young people with such a spirit of conviction that they will be released to do miracles, signs, wonders, and bring transformation and shift in the nations as children because they will not be bought or sold by the world; they will not be enticed by what the world has to offer; they will not bite into that apple! But they will love God because of the encounter!
And so, Lord, we just release that right now, and I just want you to stand in the presence of the Lord right now. If you want to present yourself afresh to Him for this year, for this next season, then present yourself to Him and say, “Lord, I’m all in; I’m all in! I belong to You, and I will let You use me whatever way You want. I will speak Your word, and I will be separated unto You, O God!” And just cry out to the Lord.
Don’t let me pray for you right now; don’t let me pray for you right now. Pray, pray from your own heart! Establish a place where you’re standing as the altar of the Lord and say, “God, with all my heart, I’m pressing into You.” This is not a time to say, “Oh, I’ll have so and so pray,” or “I’ll go have this one pray.” This is a time when the Lord says, “I want to hear your heart. What is the desire of your heart, and how deep is it? Are you willing to leave behind mindsets of the past that you know are not congruent with My will?”
And if you are, just give it to Him right now because this is a brand new start for you! He’s cleaning His house; it’s beautiful; it’s beautiful! And in the midst of a nation that is being plagued by a Baal spirit, God has a remnant people who are separated unto Him and who have not bowed their knee. And if you say, “But I have bowed my knee,” it’s okay, because if you repent, the blood cleanses you, and it’s just as if it never happened! You have a brand new start—brand new, clean, squeaky clean!
It’s so beautiful—the grace and the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ! And we need to cry out for mercy right now. Thank You, Lord! I just feel such the pleasure of the Lord upon you! I feel His pleasure upon you because you love Him, because you’re saying, “My life belongs to You!” No matter what, Lord, I’m following You!
You’ve got my heart—you’ve got my heart! And I’m not going to give it to another. And so, I thank You, Lord, for the pleasure that You have over Your people, and I proclaim Your blessing over them today in Jesus' name.
And if there’s anyone that you want to come to the Lord today or you want to come back to the Lord today, it’s a beautiful thing where you say, “I will separate my life unto Jesus because I have this conviction knowing that He is God, and it’s time for me to turn completely to Him.” And so just say unto Him, “Lord Jesus, I give You my whole heart. I turn away from— I repent from the things that ensnared me, and I turn back to You today. I receive the cleansing of Your blood today. I receive You not only as my Savior but as my Lord, as the owner of my life, and I receive You as King, the one who rules over me!” Whew! Thank You, Lord!
Thank You, Lord! These are the days of Elijah declaring the word of the Lord. These are the days of Moses with righteousness being restored. We’re in these days! We get to be the Elijahs! We get to be the Moses! We get to be His voice in this day!
