Mike Breaux - Living in the Awareness of God's Presence
TOPICS: God's Presence

Summary:
Breaux wraps up the series on finding God’s will by emphasizing that it’s far more about becoming the person God wants us to be than about specific places or jobs, but when delighting in the Lord becomes our primary pursuit, He plants and fulfills godly desires in our hearts. Drawing from Psalm 37, he encourages believers to wisely pursue those passions while seeking God’s guidance through four key ways: the filter of Scripture, the leading of the Holy Spirit’s presence, the counsel of trusted spiritual friends, and the convergence of circumstances. The conclusion is a call to trust God fully, follow His voice daily, and step out in faith, knowing He’ll shape our character and lead us to meaningful purposes.

Welcome and Series Wrap-Up
Hey, hey, hey! What’s up, everybody? Great to see you all! Thanks for being here at LakePointe. If you’re brand new, I’m super grateful you’re here today. I want to welcome all of our campuses and am grateful for you guys and for all who join us online as well. I’m super grateful we all get to do this together. My name is Breaux, by the way, in case we’ve never met before. I get to be a part of the teaching team here, and it’s one of the joys of my life to get to do this. Pastor Josh is back next weekend and will be diving right back into the book of Acts. Then we are going to launch into one of our most anticipated series of the year: At the Movies.

Since he’s not here today, I’m going to give you a quick rundown of the movies we’re going to do. I’d get so fired up, but I know Josh is ready; he’s super excited, and the team is planning a bunch of fun stuff around it. You do not want to miss it; it’s a great invite for coworkers, neighbors, family, and friends, so I hope that every weekend around here feels like that as well—that you can invite anybody at any time. So, thanks for doing that!

Let me just say how great it’s been for me personally to hang out with y’all for the last four weeks. I usually don’t get to do an entire series, so it’s really been fun for me, and I can’t express how much love and respect I have for the Lake Pointe family. Y’all are just the best! Today, we are going to wrap up this series about finding God’s will. We’ve been talking about hearing God’s voice and following God’s leadership. We’ve been learning that God does speak, that God is not silent, and that God really does want to help you and me navigate this journey that we call life.

Along the way, we’ve been learning some principles that hopefully can help us all relax and not get so stressed out about all the future decisions we’ve got to make. The foundational and most often repeated principle of this series has been this: God’s will is so much more about who we are than what we do or where we go. Let’s read that out loud together: God’s will is much more about who we are than where we go or what we do. We’ve been learning that God would much rather be a sculptor in our life than just be our Heavenly Alexa. In fact, we learned last week that God is much more concerned about our character than He is about our comfort, and He will use whatever this sometimes unfair life throws at us to shape us and mold us into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. So, as He does lead us to the right places, we’ll be the right kind of people in those places.

We also talked about how God longs for us to desire Him more than just His answers for our life. God wants to guide us, remember, with His eye upon us, and to do that, we have to seek His face. We have to draw up close every day in an intimate friendship. We also learned that Jesus is the Good Shepherd and that He speaks into the moments of our day, and we just listen and we follow. We learned it’s not so much about quote unquote finding God’s will as it is about following God’s voice. Jesus said, «My sheep know my voice, and they follow.»

We learned last weekend that God is always with you, working when it’s dark, that God will not bail on you, and God never, ever gets tired. He doesn’t need like a grande Frappuccino espresso dulce latte thing to get going in the morning or a 5-Hour Energy shot in the afternoon. He is the inexhaustible God who is at work in our lives, and even when we can’t see what He’s doing, we can trust His heart. We saw last weekend through the incredible story of a young guy named Joseph that God’s plan is always to have the right person in the right place at the right time for His right purposes. Sometimes you and I stand back from a moment, we get goosebumps everywhere, and say, «Wow, that’s incredible! I think I was supposed to be sitting in that seat on that school bus today. I was supposed to be standing right next to that woman in the line at the DMV today!» It just felt like a divine appointment. Doesn’t it feel so good when you know in that moment you were in the right place at the right time, just being used for God’s purposes?

We also learned that God is never in a hurry. We read in Psalm chapter 37 how we are to rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him to move. We also learned that waiting is not necessarily a passive thing; rather, we wait actively and we live dependently. That just means that you keep doing the right thing at the place where you currently are employed, in the neighborhood where you currently live, and at the school where you are currently enrolled. You just depend upon God every day and work and move and relate with honor, integrity, kindness, goodness, and excellence and joy. You just bloom wherever you’re currently planted.

I just think if you and I spend some time kind of soaking in these principles and asking the Holy Spirit of God to stamp them on our hearts, and begin to actually live this way, our anxiety levels would go way down, and we would start to live with a sense of freedom and purpose that we never knew was possible. Now, I say purpose because God really does have a plan for your life and mine. He wants to help you and me make wise decisions that will lead us down productive paths. God really does want to unleash His best version of you to make a difference in this world and, in the process, to fill you up with deep satisfaction.

I’m aware, because I’ve had a lot of conversations with some of you during the series, that there are more than just a few of you right now who really are facing some big-time decisions. I mean, you really do have career decisions to make. You’re facing school decisions, relationship decisions, and financial decisions, and you’re wondering whether you’re supposed to move here or there. I promise you, along the way, we’re going to wrap this up today by talking about some ways that might help us discern where God might be leading us to go and what God might be leading us to do.

Pursue His Person, Then Your Passions
To do that, I want to give you one more biblical principle that I hope will further simplify the way you see this quote unquote God’s will thing for your life. It’s found in the verse that we looked at in week number two, again from Psalm 37. It says this: «Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust also in Him and He will do it. Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.»

Now, we said that verse we highlighted there in the middle is not, «Oh Lord, give me my desires, and I will be delighted.» Remember, this is a conditional promise. There’s part A: delight yourself in the Lord. Then there’s part B: then He will give you the desires of your heart. This is one of those verses that assures you and me that if we make Him the primary passion of our life, that if we pursue Him and talk to Him and walk with Him and open up our lives to Him and trust Him and love Him, if we make Him the delight of our hearts, then He will give us the desires of our hearts.

So let me just give you the simple principle that could radically change the way we all think about the will of God for our lives. If you are pursuing His person, then go wisely pursue your passions. If you are pursuing His person, then go wisely pursue your passions. This is the principle that says if the A part of that verse is true about you, then God is going to give you the green light to pursue whatever passions are running deep in the currents of your heart. You see, God made you, and along with unique gifts and a unique personality, God has stamped a unique passion in you and me that honors Him. As you and I delight in Him, God begins to bring to the surface those dreams and passions and says, «Listen, if you’re making Me the delight of your life, if your primary passion is to know Me, then you have the freedom to go pursue the desires I put into your heart.» That’s the principle: if you are pursuing His person, then go wisely pursue your passions.

Now there’s a danger in all this. It’s the reason I highlighted the words «wisely pursue, » because sometimes we grow impatient, don’t we? And we start unwisely looking for advice and direction as we pursue those passions. I mean, people say, «I’m a little confused right now. I’m not getting any word from God. I need some direction, and it just hasn’t come, so maybe that sign I’m looking for is going to come to me through my horoscope.» So, you’ve got people all over the world today reading something very insightful like, «Be careful in relationships because someone you haven’t seen will pass by today.» That happened 3,000 times to me on the way to church! Or, «Avoid bad investments; this is not a good financial cycle for you.» You’re telling me? I just put $93 worth of gas in my truck! I mean, who writes these things?

And they’ll read your palm; they’ll read your tarot cards as they read your wallet. They’ll look deeply into your eyes or their crystal ball or whatever they’re looking at and say, «I can give you advice on your career and on your relationships. I can help you find the purpose of life.» People flock to that stuff, and God says to you and me, «No, no, no! The key is to wisely pursue. You don’t need crystals and cards or to search your Sagittarian stars. Let me show you how I want to guide you.»

Guidance Through God’s Word
So let me just give you some of the wise ways in which God gives advice. When you do get to a crossroad and you’re wondering about a decision that you need to make, when it really is—is it this job or that job? When you need to decide, «Is it this school or that school? Here or there? Him or her?» It’s been my experience that God gives us at least four ways—I’m not negating any other ways—but God gives us four ways, at least in my own life, to help us navigate these decisions and have peace that we really are following His lead.

The first one I’ve experienced when you have a decision to make when you’re standing at that crossroad is to always run everything through the filter of God’s Word. This book is a lot of things; man, it is full of truth, it’s full of wisdom, it’s full of hope and grace and comfort and challenges—lots and lots of gritty, real-life stories. As you read God’s Word, as you study it and apply it, you’ll also find great discernment and direction for your life. Psalm 119 puts it this way: «By your words, I can see where I’m going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path.» You see, the Bible is far from being this antiquated piece of mythology; it is the inspired Word of God. It is the truth foundation for all of mankind, and it still speaks today. It just isn’t for personal Bible study and small group studies and weekends like this; it is your everyday personal GPS. God’s Word is saying to you while you’re out there pursuing the passions of your heart, «I want you to always run those passions through the filter of my Word, and if they match up, keep going.»

Psalm 19 says this: «The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commands of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight to life.» You see, the payoff for that perfect, trustworthy, full of wisdom discernment, joy, and clarity of direction will refresh your weary spirit, it’ll bring joy to your heart, all the while giving you clear insight for your journey. God has given us incredible truth! God has already said a lot of stuff; He’s already spoken to you and me through His living words. So when you’ve got a passion, when you’ve got a dream, you’ve got something in your heart that you’re not sure whether God has put it there, run it through the filter of His Word and see if it matches up with what He has already said. If it doesn’t, then you know it’s not from God. But if it does, keep going.

Guidance Through the Holy Spirit
He also leads us by the presence of His Spirit. This is so cool to me! God has given us the very presence of His person to walk with us daily, and His presence is an incredibly guiding factor. You know the presence of people has a direct impact on us, right? When the teacher is in the classroom, you tend to behave better. Right? When the coach is at practice, you run a little harder. When the CEO of the company shows up at your workplace, you tend to straighten up your desk. Just their presence and their person influence us!

It’s amazing how this works. I like to play golf, and I was playing golf one time with some guys I didn’t know. I showed up at the golf course as a single; I didn’t have a foursome to play with, so they put me in with these three guys that I did not know. These three guys were three of the worst golfers I’ve ever seen in my entire life! I had never seen guys this bad, and they had mouths to match their golf game! These guys cussed in creative ways like I’ve never heard! They were stringing words together I’d never heard before. It was pretty creative. And every shot was like they hit a bad shot and then cussed and let a club fly. I mean, they were just that way.

On about the third hole, we’re standing on the tee box, and we had to wait on the group in front of us. One of the guys turns to me and says, «So what do you do?» I thought, «Oh yeah, I do not want to tell them; I’m not going to tell him.» But I finally told him what I did, and it was amazing! The next guy gets on the tee box; he hits about a 30-foot worm burner—just a terrible shot. He takes his club and goes, «My, my, my, my, my!» and put the back of his bag! It was hilarious to me; my presence influenced their behavior!

I mean, what if Jesus dropped in at school or work or home or on the golf course? What if Jesus wanted to go along with you to a certain party? Would that have an impact on you? His very person and His presence would influence the choices that you make. Some of the things that you think might be passions that God put in your heart maybe won’t be so much of a passion when you realize that Jesus is walking with you in that moment. You’re able to discern, «Oh, if He can’t go this direction with me, then that’s not the direction I need to go.»

One of the wonderful things about the counsel of God’s Spirit is that He’s with us every day! Jesus had this to say about Him in John 16: «But the Spirit of truth”—but when the Spirit of truth comes, He will what? Guide you into all truth! He will guide you into all truth! For every follower of Jesus, He guides us. And catch this: the Holy Spirit is not only with you when you choose to follow Jesus; He takes up residence in you! If we will humble ourselves and cooperate with Him, He will start producing things like love and joy and peace and patience and kindness and gentleness and goodness and faithfulness and self-control. All throughout the day, He will speak deep to your heart, sometimes convicting you, sometimes challenging you, always encouraging you, commending you, leading you, prompting you to do the right thing in the little things all day long!

We talked about this in week one and how He gently speaks to our spirit, saying, „Come on, dude, you’re getting overheated right now! Walk away from this argument and come back when you calm down, ” or He prompts us, saying, „You need to pull over; help her change that tire, ” or, „Hey, that voice speaks to us, and you got extra money; you help that family.“ He leads us, saying, „It’s time to let this go; forgive your dad.“ He gently encourages, „That’s three days you’ve eaten a meal without purging! I’m so proud of you! Let’s go for four!“

He just guides and speaks and leads all day long if we will listen! And that’s the key—to listen and follow. Now, be honest; y’all ever had one of those smoke alarms start beeping somewhere in your house? It could be warning you about something, but instead of heeding it, what do we do? We take the batteries out, right? And go to bed! Oh, come on, you’ve done it too, right?

Here’s the deal with the Holy Spirit of God: since He is in me, if I want to choose to walk down the wrong road, I have to disconnect God’s voice in me. It’s like unplugging the batteries and telling God, „I don’t want to hear it right now, Holy Spirit! Your constant beeping is getting annoying because I want to do this! I’m going to do this, so you just need to leave me alone!“ And all the while, He’s trying to lead you and me, saying, „Don’t unplug Me! Come on! Follow Me! Walk this way! The way you want to go is going to wreck your life! Listen to Me and follow Me, and I’ll take you to a better story.“

I believe living in the awareness of God’s presence in my life has been the single most transformative thing of my life. To listen and say yes to His promptings in the little everyday things has not only led me away from things that would hurt me and hurt the people around me, but my whole life has been Him leading me to incredible places and amazing people I didn’t even know existed! I mean, I never dreamed I would be doing this with my life. I really can’t believe I’m at LakePointe! But this is where, through a series of events and promptings, God’s Spirit led me!

Guidance Through Spiritual Companions
So, He speaks to us through His Word, He speaks to us through His Spirit, and when we are standing at a crossroad looking for some direction, another way I’ve experienced God’s leadership is through the counsel of close spiritual companions. The Bible tells us if we lack wisdom, we ought to ask God for it! So when I pray and I ask God for wisdom, I have found that God often gives me wisdom through the advice and discernment of people that love me—people that are close and trusted friends.

It says this in Proverbs 13:20: „Whoever walks with the wise will become wise; whoever walks with fools will suffer harm.“ So let me ask you: Who are you walking with? Who do you go to for wisdom? Who do you hear from? Who do you take your big questions to? Who do you take your dreams to? Who do you ask for advice? Do you have that network of close spiritual companions?

I have found that God often speaks and leads and shapes my thought process through people who are also delighting themselves in the Lord. I’m telling you, it’s huge to have friends and family that love you, who want God’s best for you and can really help you navigate those big-time life decisions. Proverbs 11:14 says, „Where there is no guidance, the people fall, but in the abundance of counselors, there is victory.“

Now, I don’t think that means you have to have a whole stable of advisers, and you can’t make a decision in your life until you’ve checked in with 17 different people and got their feedback. It just means that we have to have some trusted voices in our life that can help us determine if the desires of our hearts are lining up with what God has intended for us in the first place.

The first person for me is always my wife, Debbie. God almost always leads us as a team. Then I go to my kids; God leads us as a team. Then I’ve got at least three or four guys who know me very well. They know everything about me; they love me unconditionally, and they’re not afraid to speak truth into my life. I just bounce everything off those people, and it has been so huge in my life! What I see is that sometimes people who are so passionate about something, they want to do something so badly that they go to one guy and they’ll say, „Hey! I got this great idea! I think it’s a word from God! I’m pretty pumped up about it! I think that God may be leading me to do this! What do you think?“ And they lay it out, and the friend listens and goes, „Well, honestly, I don’t see it. I don’t think that’s God’s purpose for your life based on this truth or this scripture or my own uneasy feeling about it.“

So they run to the next person and say, „Hey! What’s going on? I got this great vision! I got this passion! I want to lay it out before you! Last guy I talked to was clueless, totally unspiritual, so I thought I’d share it with you!“ And they come back with, „Well, honestly, I don’t have a good feeling about it either! Now, I can’t give you a certain scripture; I’m not saying don’t do it; I’m not telling you I’m the voice of God, but I’m telling you I don’t think it’s a wise decision. In fact, I’m pretty uncomfortable about it.“

So, they’re looking around, and they say, „Okay! I’ll go to him! I’ll go to her!“ And finally, after 86 people, they find somebody—usually on a barstool at 3:00 in the morning—who agrees with them, and they say, „Yes! I knew it! God was going to give me the desires of my heart!“

I have found that instead of going to 100 people and looking for somebody to agree with me, I just go to four or five trusted friends who know and love Jesus, who know and love me, and are not afraid to tell me the truth. Now, I still have to run the idea through the filter of God’s Word and the influence of His person, but then I’ll bounce the idea off of them and ask them to pray, and if they have a check in their spirit about the decision I’m about to make, it makes me kind of step back and look again. It’s been so good in my life!

Guidance Through Convergence of Circumstances
One more way—and I don’t know exactly how to explain this or what even to call it—I’m just going to call it the convergence of circumstances. We know about convergence living in the exploding Dallas Metroplex area, don’t we? There are places where the I-30, 635, George Bush, I-35, 80, 75, and all the frontage roads all converge into one lane that is currently under construction! Am I right? It’s crazy! It’s just crazy! But in my life, I’ve discovered that convergence is actually a good thing! Sometimes when I’m looking for direction, I’ll look back at my life, look around at my life, look at past experiences, chance meetings I’ve had, conversations I’ve had, family situations—your passions, your personality type, your giftedness, your education—and it seems like all those things are converging into one lane! It’s like the Holy Spirit is saying, „This is it! This is the way! Walk in this way!“

So, as you are wisely pursuing your passions, you ask, „What opportunities are there? What doors does God seem to be opening? Are there doors behind me that seem to be closing? How are my past experiences seeming to prepare me for the direction I sense God is leading me? How does this match up with the person I’m becoming? And how does it align?“ This is huge—with my unique gifts and my personality and my abilities!

You know, I’m glad they pretty much did away with those painful American Idol auditions where some people would show up dreaming of and longing to go to Hollywood with delusions of greatness—misguided passions, misguided people in their ear. They show up in front of the judges and they sing, and it’s „Oh my goodness!“ and the door gets closed, even slammed in their face. Then they’re in the lobby talking to like Ryan Seacrest, and they’re crying saying, „This is not going to stop me! This is not going to stop me! This is my dream!“ And if you can dream it, you can be it? No, you can’t. You can’t! You can’t sing!

I have a passion for basketball; I love it! Always have! Well, I could play pickup game after pickup game, but it seems like the NBA doors might be closed to me right now! Sometimes when doors keep closing, it says, „Don’t give up! Keep persevering!“ But a lot of times, it’s saying, „You just need to go a different way! It’s possible that God didn’t put that ability in you, that desire in you, that gift mix in you.“

Sometimes God will say to you, „You know what? That career door is closed; that relationship door is closed; that school door is closed; that move to a new house door is closed.“ It wasn’t like a big sign written across the sky, but every single door seems to be closed. If that’s the case, that’s when you start the process all over again, where you go back to God and say, „Okay, God! I just got to lay this all before You because, honestly, maybe the reason I’m standing here pounding my head against this door hoping it’ll open is because it’s really just my agenda; it’s my plan; it’s my will. And you know what? I’ve been so obsessed with what’s next that I have totally neglected you in the process. So, I just want to start all over again, and I just want to delight myself in You and just do whatever You want me to do with my life. I’m going to throw my life into the river of Your wisdom, and wherever the flow wants to take me, let it be so. Until You open those doors, I will just trust You. I’m going to dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness! I’m going to rest in You and wait patiently for You to move.

On the other end, sometimes a door opens, and you walk through it, and something happens on the other side of that door to affirm the direction you started walking. Then another door opens, and you walk through that, and on the other side of that door, you meet this person who introduces you to this person, and all of a sudden all these circumstances seem to be pointing, „This is it! Keep walking in faith!“

In those times, I have found that peace has been a huge prompter. It says in Isaiah 26:3, „You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you.“ As you fix your thoughts on Him, the Holy Spirit of God will give you a sense of peace about the direction you’re walking, or sometimes He’ll take away your peace about it. Now, I’m not talking about being afraid to take a step of faith, but sometimes there’s just this feeling in your gut saying, „Red flag warning here, ” or, „Yep, this is it; keep walking!“

I don’t have time, but I could give you example after example of moves that we’ve made throughout the last 40 years or so. I mean, if I wrote out a resume for you, and you looked at it, you’d go, „Dang! That dude can’t keep a job!“ I have been all over the place! And I believe that God says to some people, „You just need to stay in this spot for the next 60 years! Put down roots, and you just make a difference right here.“ And I cannot tell you how I have longed to hear God say that to me, but when I told Him as a 17-year-old guy surrendering my life to Him on the banks of a camp in northern Minnesota, I said, „Wherever You want to take me, God, I’m willing to go! I will follow You!“ It’s almost like God said to me, „Okay, buckle up, bro!“

We have had so many great, great adventures! We’ve been to so many places and met so many amazing people, like you all! I’ve got to witness so many stories, so much life change and transformation that God has done in people’s lives! I watched God pull so many people out of the pit that they thought they’d never get out of! I got to see it everywhere, and I’m super grateful for our life.

Personal Story of God’s Leading
I’ve got a picture of an old water pump hanging in my office, and it’s kind of a weird picture, I know, but this is the reason I’ve got it. Years ago, I was at a church that I loved with all my heart, and I thought I would be there for the next 40 years. I mean, I loved everything about what I was doing! We were in our hometown; we just built a new house. I mean, it was just good! I loved everything about it!

So comfortable in the middle of all that, I felt like God, through a series of circumstances, was saying, „I want you to move to Chicago. I want you to trust Me and take a step of faith. I need you to come help transition the church. I will be with you; don’t be afraid; don’t be discouraged. I’m going to be with you, but I want you to go!“

And I don’t have time to go into all that, but I just knew! Oh! I didn’t want to go! Okay, I’ll go! I said when I was 17 I’d go wherever. So, okay, I resigned! It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life! My heart was out, standing up in front of people like y’all and just telling them, „I’ve got to go!“ It was so, so hard!

I’m sitting in the airport the next day getting ready to fly up to Chicago for a meeting, and I am a wreck! I am so depressed! I’m so blue! I’m sitting there in the terminal reading a newspaper. You guys remember newspapers? It was a USA Today! I’m reading USA Today, and this guy comes and sits down right next to me, and he says, „Hey, what are you reading there? You got any good news in there?“

I went, „Not sure, ” and didn’t want to talk to anybody, and this guy goes, „Hey, how you doing?“ I said, „I’m where you going?“ I said, „Going to Chicago.“ He said, „Where are you going?“ He goes, „Oslo, Norway! I’m going to Chicago to catch a plane to Oslo, Norway. I’ve been down here in Lexington, Kentucky, working on the racetrack, so there are a lot of people going through hard, hard times in stables, working on the racetrack, so I’m just trying to minister to all those people, and I’m going to go over to Oslo, Norway, and I’m going to pray for three days for God to open up a door for me there because there’s a horse industry there, and I’d like to see what He could do over there. And I don’t know whether you’re a Christian or not, but I just kind of go wherever God wants me to go, and that’s where I’m going—to Oslo, Norway!“

I go, „Okay, yeah!“ I didn’t want to talk; I just kept reading the paper, you know? He just kept on talking and talking and talking! So we get on the plane, and this guy—I’m sitting in the aisle seat, and this guy’s two seats behind me on the other side of the aisle—and we’re coming down, and the captain gets on and says, „You know, we’re making our final descent into O’Hare, ” and I feel this hand grab my arm. I look back; it’s that guy, the Oslo guy. He reaches up and grabs my arm and says, „Hey! I don’t know who you are, and I don’t know why you’re going to Chicago, but I just had a vision about you!“

I think, „Oh great!“ He goes, „I saw you standing behind an old water pump, and thousands of people lined up with empty cups. I don’t know what that means, but I thought I’d just give it to you.“

I just sat there and had goosebumps from head to toe! It was like God was saying, „Come on, bro! Just trust Me! You know how many thirsty people are out there? I just need you to be faithful! Just go crank that handle! Pour out Living Water so they can have their souls satisfied! That’s why I’m sending you to Chicago!“

And that’s why I’ve got a water pump hanging in my office—to remind me how God speaks, how God leads. All throughout this series, I have had an old hymn stuck in my head, and I grew up with old hymns and stuff. It just goes sort of like this: „Where He leads me, I will follow. Where He leads me, I will follow. Where He leads me, I will follow. I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.“

Closing Prayer
And Father, that’s the desire of our heart! Throughout this series, we’ve learned a lot of principles, and God, I pray that we would just trust in You, listen to Your voice, and follow where You lead us, wherever You take us. God, I pray that all of us would every day just put ourselves on the potter’s wheel and let You turn us into the right kind of people so that wherever You take us, we must be the right people in those places. God, I pray for people in this place, people that are listening right now that have big-time decisions to make, and I pray they would just relax in You, put their lives in Your hands. I pray that they would run those decisions through the filter of Your Word, get some close personal friends that could help them, talk to Your Holy Spirit, and listen well. Then have the faith to step out and just go.Thank You for Your leadership in our lives, God! I’m so grateful, and I pray all this in Jesus' name. Amen!
