Hello friends, I am honored and privileged to be standing here overlooking the Mount of Olives. This is the Valley of Elah and when David showed up he said, "Who is this Philistine who defies the army of the living God"? As we think of David and think of this area, always remind me that even though difficulties may be in rapid successions, the Lord will give you a song, just remember that.
"Jesus was in the stern sleeping on a cushion and the disciples woke him up and said, 'Teacher, don't you care if we drown?' He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the waves, 'Be still' and then the wind died down and it was completely calm". "Narrow is the road," Jesus said, "wide is the road that will lead to eternal destruction". Without Jesus and that's the narrowness of it, you have to come through Jesus and that is why Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the giver of eternal life. And no one comes to the Father but by me".
That is the most crucial question over which hangs one's eternity: "Who do you say that I am"? Jesus is the son who's obedient; he is the one who is going to be the one to fulfill all the desires that God had in terms of calling the nations to himself because he's a God of the universe, he's not just a God of a locale or certain ethnic group.
Yesterday, I was in the Garden of Gethsemane and I cannot help but weep on the inside when I teach in that place. And I don't weep over Jesus, I weep over me, because it's my sins that made him sweat blood in the Garden of Gethsemane. "Then he said to them, 'My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.'"
This is the stone that was rejected by the builders. On that Golgotha, Jesus the Christ hung on that cross for you and for me, but then thank God, he was taken a few yards away, he was buried in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. I always say praise God the tomb is empty for he rose again on the third day and then he ascended into heaven. He's coming back and he's gonna take us with him to reign and rule forever. God bless.
