Mensa Otabil - The Promises of God

Mensa Otabil - The Promises of God
TOPICS: Word to Go, God's Promises

From 2 Corinthians 1:20, this message declares that every promise of God is anchored in who He is and fulfilled in Christ, concluding that believers can fully trust God because His promises are true, faithful, creative, and already established as yes and amen.

Day 24: Standing on the Promises of God

This is day number 24 of our 40 Days of Power. We are moving steadily forward, and God is giving us the grace and strength to complete this journey and to see His glory manifested in our lives through faith and perseverance.

We begin with 2 Corinthians chapter 1, verse 20: «For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him amen, to the glory of God through us.» This verse establishes that every promise God makes is rooted in Him and fulfilled through Christ.

Promises Rooted in God’s Nature

All the promises of God rest on God Himself. God promises to be good to us because He is good. He promises to provide because He is a provider. He promises to heal because He is a healer. Every promise flows directly from His nature.

Who God is becomes the foundation for what God promises. Because He is a deliverer, He promises deliverance. Because He is unchanging, His promises remain steady. We trust His promises because they are expressions of His character.

God Intends to Fulfill His Promises

When God makes a promise, it is a commitment made with the intention of fulfillment. God does not speak casually. When He says, «I am going to do something for you, ” it is grounded in who He is and His desire to act in our lives.

God is not in the business of merely issuing promises. He is committed to fulfilling Himself in our lives. In Christ, all the promises of God are yes and amen, meaning they are confirmed, settled, and trustworthy.

Why God’s Promises Are Reliable

God is true; therefore, His promises are true. He is not a man that He should lie. His promises are not false hope but divine reality. When God speaks, He speaks truth, and that truth forms the foundation of our faith.

Secondly, God is faithful; therefore, His promises are faithful. We can rest our faith in His Word. He stands behind what He says and backs it up with His faithfulness. His promises are dependable and secure.

Promises That Create What Does Not Exist

God is a creator; therefore, His promises are creative. When God promises something, even if it does not yet exist, He has the power to bring it into being. His Word creates what is missing.

In Genesis, God said, „Let there be light, ” and light came into existence. To Abraham, who had no child, God promised many nations. That promise was based on God’s ability to create what did not exist.

All Promises Fulfilled in Christ

All the promises God made for the redemption of mankind in the Old Testament were fulfilled through Jesus Christ. In Christ, the promises of God reached their completion and confirmation.

Because Christ lives in our hearts, the promises of God toward us are also yes and amen. When God says He will do something, we are to consider it done, even if the evidence has not yet appeared.

Our Response to God’s Promises

God’s promises usually include two parts: what He says He will do and what He calls us to do. Often, the condition is trust. God desires that we believe Him, walk in His ways, and align our lives with His will.

When we trust God and walk with Him, His good promises are fulfilled in our lives. Faith positions us to receive what God has already established as yes and amen through Christ.

Prayer

Let us pray together. Say with me, „Heavenly Father, Your promises are true and guaranteed. I receive from Your fullness and abundance today in Jesus’ name. Amen and amen.“
