From Exodus 15:26, this message reveals God as Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals, showing through the waters of Mara and the work of Christ that healing flows from God’s nature and is promised to those who trust Him.
Day 28: Meeting Jehovah Rapha
Welcome to day number 28 of our 40 Days of Power. We begin with Exodus chapter 15, verse 26, where the Lord declares that if His people diligently heed His voice and walk in His ways, He will put none of the diseases of Egypt upon them, for He is the Lord who heals them.
This promise was given at a critical moment in Israel’s journey. It was not spoken in comfort but in testing, revealing God’s heart and His ability to transform difficult situations into testimonies of His power.
The Bitter Waters of Mara
Israel had walked for three days in the wilderness without water. When they finally found water at Mara, it was bitter and undrinkable. Exhausted and disappointed, the people complained and murmured against Moses, as fear and frustration filled their hearts.
Moses cried out to the Lord, and God showed him a tree to cast into the waters. When he obeyed, the bitter waters became sweet. God demonstrated that He can turn negative and painful situations into something life-giving and refreshing.
God Reveals Himself as Healer
At Mara, God revealed Himself in a unique way, saying, «I am the Lord who heals you.» This is Jehovah Rapha, the God whose nature is healing. He heals not as an occasional act, but because healing flows from who He is.
God healed Israel as they journeyed through the wilderness. Scripture tells us that their feet did not swell, and they were preserved for years. As long as they walked in God’s promises and obeyed Him, they experienced divine protection and healing.
[h2]Healing in the Ministry of Jesus
When we come to the New Testament, healing becomes a defining mark of Jesus’ ministry. He healed people from every background and every condition. No disease was beyond His power or compassion.
Jesus demonstrated that God is a healer in action. Wherever He went, sickness bowed to His authority, revealing that the heart of God toward humanity is restoration and wholeness.
Healing Purchased Through the Cross
In His suffering for our redemption, Jesus took upon Himself our sicknesses. He was beaten and scourged, and Scripture declares that by His stripes we are healed. Healing was not only promised; it was purchased.
In the Old Testament, God declared, «I am the healer.» In the New Testament, Jesus confirmed it through His works and secured it through His sacrifice. This gives us confidence that healing belongs to us in Christ.
Trust the Healer Today
Just as God made the bitter waters of Mara sweet, He can turn sickness into healing and weakness into strength. Healing is not foreign to God; it is His nature and His desire for His people.
If you are sick in any part of your body, you can trust God today. Ask Him to touch you and heal you. He has the power, the compassion, and the intention to restore you completely.
Claim the Promise of Healing
Today we claim the promise of healing for our bodies, for our loved ones, and for those in hospitals. We believe for a divine touch for everyone who needs God’s healing power.
Are you ready to receive God’s healing? His promise is still active, and His power is still at work for all who believe.
Prayer
Let us pray together. Say with me, «Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise of healing. I receive total healing from the top of my head to the soles of my feet in Jesus’ name. Amen.»
