Mensa Otabil - The Earth Belongs to God

Mensa Otabil - The Earth Belongs to God
TOPICS: Word to Go

From Psalm 24:1–2, this message declares God’s absolute ownership of the earth and all who dwell in it, affirming His sovereignty, His love for humanity, and His purpose to establish His rule and blessing upon the earth.

Day 31: The Earth Belongs to the Lord

This is the 31st day of our 40 Days of Power. Our scripture reading is from Psalm 24:1–2:
«The earth is the Lord’s and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein; for He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.»

Psalm 24 is a powerful proclamation of God’s sovereignty. It reminds us that creation did not happen by chance. The earth exists because Jehovah God created it. Everything visible and invisible belongs to Him. The earth is His, and the people who live on it are also His.

[h2]God Created a Good Earth
The first truth we see in this passage is that God created a good earth. When God created the world in Genesis, He declared that it was good, and when He finished His work, He said it was very good. The earth is not an evil place by design. It was created to be God’s footstool, a place where His glory is revealed.

Although sin entered the world through Adam and Eve and brought corruption, the earth in its original design was good. God’s intention for the earth has always been goodness, order, and blessing.

[h2]God Loves the People He Created
The second truth is that God loves people because He created them. He loves even those who reject Him, oppose Him, or blaspheme His name. His love is unconditional and eternal.

It is this love that moved Him to send Jesus Christ as our Redeemer. God did not abandon the world He created. Instead, He stepped into it to save it. The cross is the ultimate expression of God’s love for the people of the earth.

[h2]God Wants His People to Enjoy the Fullness of the Earth
Psalm 24 says the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. This means God intends for His people to enjoy what He has created—the land, the resources, the beauty, and the provision of the earth.

This enjoyment comes with responsibility. We are called to be good stewards of God’s creation, not destroyers of it. But as believers, we are invited to partake in the blessings God has placed in the earth. When we walk in obedience and faith, the earth responds with fruitfulness and harmony in our lives.

[h2]God Will Establish His Purposes on the Earth
The fourth truth is that God will ultimately establish His purposes on the earth. History is not random. God is guiding all things toward His divine plan. Though it may sometimes seem like people rule independently of God, Scripture reminds us that God reigns over all.

He rules over the earth, over nations, and over individuals—even those who resist Him. And because we are submitted to Him, He causes the earth to work for our good and to yield fruit in our lives.

[h2]A Declaration of God’s Sovereignty
God is not distant or uninterested in our lives. He is the Sovereign King of the universe, actively involved in human affairs. As we acknowledge His rule, we position ourselves to walk in His blessing and purpose.

Prayer

Let us pray together. Say with me:
«Heavenly Father, You are the King of the universe. We proclaim Your dominion over our lives and in all the earth, in Jesus’ name. Amen.»
