Mensa Otabil - Keep Increasing
TOPICS: Word to Go

Day number 39 of our 40 days of power-the last but one day-and I thank God for how far He has brought us. We have trusted Him, and He has strengthened us to go through up to now. May the Lord increase each one of us more and more. Psalm 115:14 — 15: «May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children. May you be blessed by the Lord who made heaven and earth.» God’s increase has no end; He increases us more and more. When God blesses us, He blesses us to the uttermost, and He does not hold back on the extent of blessing that is ours. In this season, as we’ve waited on Him, may He bless us without any limit and without any hindrance.

At the heart of God’s blessings for Israel, there were three things that were very prominent. When God said He was blessing Israel, the first was an increase in population. When God blessed Israel, He blessed them with numbers; He blessed them with the number of people. Why? Because God started with one man and one woman who were barren, so Israel’s expectation was always for a population. The father and mother had been married for so long without a child, and then they had one child, Isaac, between them. For Israel, numbers were very important. Out of this very unlikely situation of a barren couple with a single child, God gave them a nation. God’s blessing of increase will multiply you and make you more in population, make you more in numbers, and whatever you are doing, may the Lord increase the numbers of them as He blessed Israel.

The second thing that God’s increase did for Israel was the increase in their land. They were a landless people. Abraham left his father and mother’s land, his ancestral land, to a land that God had shown him, and for years he roamed the land without having a foothold on it, and then his descendants went into captivity and into the wilderness. So, for 600 years since Abraham left his father’s house, they had no land until they entered the promised land. The promise of increase always included land, so when God increases, He increases us in number; He increases our assets, our landed property, and that’s what He did for Israel. So anytime Israel says, «God, increase us,» they had population in mind, they had land in mind, that God would expand them in land.

For us as Christians, we can claim the same benefits, that the Lord will increase whatever we do in numbers and let it grow and flourish; that God will give us extended space to operate in. It may not necessarily be a large land, but God gives you opportunities to operate and to flourish. In those days, it was land; in these days, it is just opportunity that we need to operate in. May God increase opportunities for us.

The third thing that the increase of God affected was their wealth, because for many years they didn’t have any money, especially when they were in Egypt; they didn’t have anything. So when God said, «I will increase you,» they thought about population increase, increase of land, and they thought about an increase of wealth. Today, we can also come into agreement with the Lord that the Lord would increase us in numbers. Whatever we’re doing, the Lord will increase our scope and our land and our opportunities to operate in, and the Lord will bless the work of our hands so that we will flourish and be wealthy. Poverty is not from God, and God wants us to prosper and be in health, even as our souls prosper.

So as we bring this 40 days of prayer and fasting to an end, may the Lord do all these three things for us in Jesus' name. Let us pray. Say with me: Heavenly Father, You are my strength and shield; increase me on every side in Jesus' name. Amen and amen.
