Mensa Otabil - Maintain a Positive Confession (10/27/2025)
Day number 37 of our 40 days of power. We have three more days to go. We’re entering the final weekend, and then on Monday, we are done as we start a new process of doing great things for God. I trust the Lord has been your help, and if you’ve come this far, He will take us through. If you didn’t start with us, you can end with us. Either way, we want God’s glory to be seen in our lives.
So we look at how to actualize, how to make the things we have believed become reality in our lives. After we’ve spent time praying, we have to do something so that the things we believe become reality. Second Corinthians chapter 4, verse 13 states, «And since we have the same Spirit of Faith according to what is written: 'I believed and therefore I spoke, ' we also believe and therefore speak.»
Faith is not just bravado; faith is not just courage; faith is not just being wild, as some people say. Faith is trusting in God’s word and declaring God’s word, believing that what God says is true and saying it as truth. That’s how faith works. The Bible says we have the same Spirit of Faith.
Now, why does it say that we have the same Spirit of faith that Elijah had? We have the same Spirit of faith that we read about in the Bible. We have the same Spirit of faith that Peter had. They don’t have any different kind of faith from us. Faith is a spirit, and we have the same Spirit of faith. That’s one of the things we have to understand when we are trusting God: that God is no respecter of persons. The God of the past is the God of the present. The God who hears me is the God who hears you. God has no favorites, titles, or positions; that’s not how God operates. God operates on the basis of faith.
He who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. If you prayed by faith, you’ve trusted the word of God, and you have really been fasting and praying because you believe God is who He says He is, then you are operating in the same Spirit of faith that the heroes of faith in the Bible operated in.
Now, if we have the same Spirit of Faith, what do we do? When Peter had faith, what did he do? He spoke. He said to a man who was lame, «Rise up and walk.» He believed, and he spoke. Jesus believes; He speaks. Elijah believes; he speaks. So the Bible says that for us to operate in faith, we have to believe first.
How do we believe? We believe who God is. We believe what God says. We believe what God can do-His word and His works. He says it, and He’s able to do it, and we believe it. Now, you can say, «Oh, I believe in my heart,» and do nothing about it. If you believe it, then you must do something to show that you believe.
For us, the Bible says you speak it. So if you believe God has healed you, you have to say it: «By His stripes, I am healed.» If you believe God has heard you, you have to say it: «The Lord has heard my prayer.» If you believe God will turn your situation around, you have to say it: «God has turned my situation around.» If you believe God has made you the head and not the tail, then you have to say it. You don’t just believe it and keep quiet about it; you believe it and say it.
In these last few days, as we end this spiritual exercise, I want you to be conscious of the things you believe about God, the things we’ve prayed about, the verses we have read, and begin to say them with your mouth. With your heart, we believe. With our mouths, we declare. That declaration of God’s word, that faith in God’s word that ends up in declaration, is what triggers a miracle in your life. May you see abundant evidence of miracles in your life in Jesus' name.
Let’s pray together. Heavenly Father, I come into full agreement with Your word. I declare boldly that You have heard me and answered me in Jesus' name. Amen and amen. Well, I’ll catch you again tomorrow. I’m Pastor Mensa Otabil. Shalom, peace, and life to you.
