Mensa Otabil - Keep Rejoicing
TOPICS: Word to Go, 40 Days of Power

Welcome to day number 39 of our 40 days of power. We have one more day to go, and it’s going to be glorious as we conclude what we started on this spiritual journey. We rejoice in the goodness of the Lord, who has brought us this far. He is the Alpha and the Omega; He begins with us and He ends with us. So we look at Zephaniah chapter 3, verses 14 and 15: «Sing, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O Daughter of Jerusalem! The Lord has taken away your judgments; He has cast out your enemy. The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; you shall see disaster no more.»

What a glorious prophecy spoken to God’s people in Israel! But the same God who speaks to Israel speaks to us, wherever we are-in our nations, in our families, and in our individual lives-because God’s word has application beyond the time it was spoken, to the times that we live in. His word is still strong; His word is still alive. And so, as we begin to see the end of our spiritual exercise, we conclude with joy in the Lord, with gladness in the Lord, thanking God, celebrating His goodness, being joyful in our praise and our thanksgiving, celebrating what He has done.

And why do we rejoice in the Lord? Because, as Zephaniah prophesied, the Lord has taken away our judgments. What was proclaimed negatively against us, God has taken away. I don’t know what judgment was against you; maybe something was set against you, something was supposed to happen. But God says He is taking away the judgments. May the Lord deliver you from every judgment of evil and of destruction. May He bring us to the place appointed for us. May He be good to us; may His favor rest on us. May we embrace His goodness all the days of our lives.

And so He says God has taken away your judgments. Then He says secondly, God has cast away your enemy. I know that for many of us, when we talk about the enemy, the first thing we want to think about is someone who doesn’t like us. That’s an enemy that is easy to deal with. But the enemy we are talking about here, for the Christian, is the enemy of our soul — the plan of the wicked one, Satan, and his cohort of evil spirits who want to deceive, who want to misdirect, who want to take us into damnation. And God says He has given us victory over the enemy. So we walk in victory over every demonic entity.

But, of course, for every agent of the enemy who has allowed themselves to be used to frustrate our efforts, God has delivered us from that enemy. But beyond that, there are many enemies. For some, an enemy is poverty; for some, an enemy is sickness; for some, an enemy is discord in a marriage. Whatever you consider an enemy-something working against you-you can trust God that in this season, God says He has cast out the enemy, and the enemy is cast out. We are walking in friendly territory, in the favor of God and in the goodness of the Lord.

And then He says, «You shall see disaster no more.» It’s a glorious prophecy-God saying yes, there was a time you saw disaster; damage came to you; things were working wrong against you. But He says you’re not going to see it any longer. May God bring us to that season in our lives! We have prayed, we have fasted, we have praised, and we have honored Him. We’ve prayed for other people, interceded for others, and even prayed for people we don’t know. May the God who knows every need of your heart bring this prophecy into manifestation in your life, in Jesus' name.

Let us pray. Say with me: Heavenly Father, You have overthrown the power of the enemy. I rejoice in all that You have done for me. In Jesus' name, amen and amen.
