Mensa Otabil - A Walk of Faith (10/24/2025)
Ephesians chapter 3, verse 12: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. The Christian life is a walk of faith. We cannot live the Christian life outside of faith. We live by trusting the Lord and what He has said, and His Word is the foundation of our faith.
The more we know the Word of God, the more we grow in faith. You cannot live the Christian life without walking by faith. Therefore, do not allow the difficulties of your life to get you down. The response to difficulty is to feed your spirit with the Word of God. As you read the Word of God and meditate on it, faith builds up in your heart, in your mind, in your thoughts, and in your understanding. When you start operating by faith, you live an extraordinary life. People will look at you and think, «Oh wow, what pressure you are going through! Life is so difficult for him.» But you look at them and ask, «What pressure? What difficulty?» Because when you walk by faith, you live differently from the rest of the world.
One of these days, that will be your testimony. You will go through a patch in your life; people will think you are under so much pressure, but because you walk by faith, you carry yourself under the power of the Word of the Lord, and that burden is very light for you. God wants us to grow in our faith, where our problems begin to look very small before us. When you build your life on the Word of God and allow His Word to go deep inside of you, you realize that you see life differently.
The way you see life is based on your understanding, and if your understanding is in the Word of the Lord, then you see life differently from somebody whose understanding is not in the Word of the Lord. If you believe that God is mighty, then your problems will not look mighty. You cannot believe God is mighty and that your problems are mighty at the same time.
If God is mighty, then your problems will look small. That is what faith does; it changes your mindset, your perception, and your perspective. It’s like someone who stands on top of a building and looks down; everything looks small. But if they stand at the bottom of the building and look up, everything looks big. It depends on where you stand. When you stand by faith, you are like the one on top of the building; everything looks small. If you are walking by sight and by your feelings, you are like the one standing at the bottom of the building, and everything looks big and intimidating.
That is why it is important to get into the Word of God. Those who build their confidence in the Word of the Lord look within and find Christ, allowing Christ to be magnified in their lives and permitting the Holy Spirit to move out of their lives and through their lives. They are able to deal with life very victoriously. That is the victory of the Christian life. I just want to encourage you: don’t just go to church, listen to a message, and go home. Spend time in the Word; allow God’s Word to become your reference point.
See your problems from God’s point of view, and all of a sudden, you will realize the things you think are impossible now look very possible. That is why you can say, «With God, all things are possible.» You know His Word; walk in the confidence of the Word, walk in the confidence of faith, and allow God to magnify Himself in your life.
Let us pray. Heavenly Father, my confidence is in Your Word. I choose to live each day by faith and not by sight. In Jesus' name, amen and amen. Well, we’ve had a great week, and I’ll catch you again tomorrow. I’m Pastor Mensa Otabil. Shalom, peace, and life to you.
