Well, if you haven' t been part of our Greater Works Conference that is ongoing, I just want to invite you to be a part of it. Attend the meetings, and if you can’t attend, follow us online because great things are happening. Everything we prayed for during the 40 Days of Power, we are receiving in this season, so just make time and be part of our conference.
Well, we go back to Psalm number 40, verse 5: «Many, O Lord my God, are your wonderful works which you have done, and your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to you in order. If I will declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.» When we look back at our lives and consider all the things that God has done for us, His works towards us prove His love and care for us. That is how Israel’s history was; Israel’s history was full of God’s acts-from how God founded them as a nation, to how God delivered them, to how God provided for them. Throughout the ages, even when they were unfaithful to the Lord, the Lord showed them great mercy.
David, speaking, says, «When I look back at all that God has done, I can’t even count them.» The reason why David says God has done so much for us is that he says God thinks about us. We are on God’s mind! Isn’t that an awesome thought? To think that God’s thoughts towards us cannot be counted. He thinks so much about you; he thinks about your welfare, he thinks about the plans he has for you. As a matter of fact, he created you because he has plans for you; he wants you to do something special on this earth. That is God’s thought towards you, and because he has favorable thoughts towards us, that is why he does favorable works for us.
God does not just get up to perform a miracle for us. He does a miracle for us because of what he’s been thinking about us, why he created us, and why he put us on this earth. What he wants to do with us throughout our lives on this earth does not mean there won’t be any difficulty, challenge, or hardship. But in all of that, we remember that God thinks about us, and because he thinks about us, he does wonderful things for us. God does not stop at having good thoughts. What good is it when someone says, «Oh, I think I have good plans for you,» but you never see the good plans he has for you? Someone says, «Oh, I love you,» but he never shows the love. Or somebody says, «You are great,» but he never shows you that you’re great.
God thinks good thoughts about us, and he does good works for us, so he actualizes his thoughts towards us. When he does those things, the psalmist says, they are wonderful things. What does it mean? Something that is wonderful means that it fills us with wonder, with surprise, with shock. So when God does something for us, we look at our lives and we are in wonderment; we are in surprise; we are in shock. Why? Because sometimes we look at how bad the situation is and think we’ll never come out of it, but God brings us out of it, and it is a wonderment to us. Sometimes we look at how deep we’re sinking, and God delivers us and lifts us up. Sometimes we look at how people said it would not be well with us, and God does it for us, and we are in wonderment. It’s a wonderful work, and the Lord will do wonderful works for us.
David says that what God does for us cannot be numbered. Isn’t that amazing? God is not just doing one thing for you or two things that you can count-one, two, three. God does things for you that you don’t have enough fingers to count on. If you add your toes, they are not enough. If you add the hairs on your head, they are not enough. If you add all the sand on the shore, there are not enough. God’s works towards us cannot be numbered. He does things for you that you don’t even know he is doing for you.
So today, we thank God for his thoughts towards us, his wonderful works, and all the numerous things that he does for us. Let us pray. Say with me: Heavenly Father, you have marked my life with your wonderful works. With you, every moment is a miracle. In Jesus' name, amen and amen.
