Mensa Otabil - None Shall Fail (10/14/2025)
From tomorrow, the 9th of January, we are starting what we call Fresh Start. My devotions will be related to Fresh Start, which is 21 days of prayer to get us started in the new year. I will be teaching from tomorrow on prayer, leading us for 21 days in the Fresh Start, and I trust that you’ll be part of it. Focus on prayer, seeking the face of the Lord, and for Him to do great things in your life.
So, Isaiah chapter 34, verse 16: «Search from the book of the Lord and read; not one of these shall fail, nor one shall lack her mate; for my mouth has commanded it, and His Spirit has gathered them.» God is speaking to His people, and He says a few things that are important to us, especially as we think of prayer and seeking the face of the Lord and what He’ll do for us. He says, «Search the word of God. Search the book of the Lord and read it.» As important as prayer is, we must anchor our prayers by searching the word of the Lord and basing our prayers on what God has said and what God does.
So, search the word of the Lord. Then He says you will find that God’s word never fails. His word never fails. When you search the Bible, you will find ancient prophecies that were fulfilled in the life of Christ, in the life of the church, and in the life of Israel. In many instances, from Abraham to Noah, God’s ancient word sometimes took 600 years, sometimes many years, but they never fail. We are dealing with a God who can be trusted because He has a track record. When you search the scriptures, you find God’s track record of honoring His word. That is why we can trust Him.
Then He says that His word is a command. When God speaks, it’s not a suggestion; it’s not something left to chance. It may or may not happen. No, when God speaks, it’s certain. He would say this is for an appointed time, and sometimes it happens after a thousand years, sometimes after ten years, or seventy years, but it happens. God’s word is not wishy-washy; it is clear, direct, and it happens. So it is a command, and I pray that this year you will experience the manifestation of God’s word in your life.
Then He says what God speaks with His mouth, His Spirit will gather. His Spirit will bring it to pass. The Holy Spirit is the one who brings about the word of the Lord. This year, we expect that the word of God will be found, the word of the Lord will be commanded, and the Holy Spirit will bring to pass what God has said in His word. So, get ready from tomorrow as we pray that the goodness of the Lord will be manifested in our lives.
Let us pray. Sit with me. Heavenly Father, Your word is faithful. This year I will see the manifestations of Your promises in my life. In Jesus' name, amen and amen.
