Mensa Otabil - Increase In Strength (10/13/2025)
This is day number 37 of our 40 days of power, and we are getting there gradually. I just want you to know that our 40 days of power ends on Monday, the 1st of August. That will complete 40 days of prayer and fasting. In the evening, I will be leading a covenant service and the opening of our Greater Works Conference at Christ Temple East of the International Central Gospel Church. I want you to be part of it because after we’ve prayed and believed God, we will end everything on the 1st of August and also begin something new. So, it’s both an end and a beginning on Monday, so keep that in mind.
So, Zechariah chapter 10, verses 11 and 12: He shall pass through the sea with affliction and strike the waves of the sea; all the depths of the river shall dry up. Then the pride of Assyria shall be brought down; the scepter of Egypt shall depart. So, I will strengthen them in the Lord, and they shall walk up and down in His name, says the Lord. This is a prophecy that the prophet Zechariah gave to God’s people, and it shows the things that God will do for the deliverance of His people. It talks about specific things that will happen in this process of deliverance, and today we want to trust that the same things that God promised His people in the book of Zechariah will happen in our lives.
There are four things I want you to pay attention to. First is that the Lord will pass through the sea for His people, and that shows the extent to which God will go to deliver His people. He will go through every situation you are in, and He’ll come through your affliction and deliver you out of your affliction. So, God says He’s going to go through the situation and deliver you out of it. The Bible talks about the sea and the rivers and says that the rivers will dry up. So, God is doing something for each one of us. Wherever your affliction is, wherever your pain is, wherever your trouble is, God says, «I’m reaching out to wherever you are, and I’m drawing you out of it.» The Lord, our Deliverer, delivers us from the affliction in the sea and in the river.
The second thing God said to His children is that the pride of Assyria shall be brought down. In the passage, it talks about two nations, Assyria and Egypt. Both of these nations were oppressors of Israel. Israel was oppressed by Egypt at the beginning of its life, and later Assyria was part of the nations that took them into captivity. God says, «I’m going to bring down these nations that exalted themselves to oppress My people.» I don’t know what has oppressed you or what system is oppressing you, but we claim this promise of God for our lives that the Lord will shatter the power and the rod and the scepter of the oppressor and set His people free. If somebody has set their eyes on you to destroy you, they are late, and it will not succeed because God will destroy the scepter of Assyria.
The third thing God says He’s going to do for them is that the Lord will strengthen His people. His people who are coming out of this situation are not coming weak; they are coming stronger and stronger and stronger. That’s what God does for His people; on this day, we will receive the strength of the Lord, and the Lord will make us strong as He shatters the scepter of the evil oppressor.
The fourth thing that God says will happen is that His people will walk up and down in His name. When God makes us strong, we are able to go anywhere. There is no hindrance; there is no oppressor; there is nobody who can stop you from going where God wants you to go. So, I declare over your life these promises in the book of Zechariah that you will go wherever God says you will go, you will be whomever God says you will be, and there will be no hindrance. There will be nothing that will stop you from becoming what God wants you to be.
Let’s pray. Say with me, «Heavenly Father, I receive increased strength in You. My path is clear; I can go wherever You want me to go. In Jesus' name, amen and amen.»
