Mensa Otabil - The Lord, He's God (10/04/2025)

Mensa Otabil - The Lord, He's God
TOPICS: Word to Go

Welcome to day number 32 of our 40 days of power. If you join us, we’ve been praying and fasting for 32 days. We have a few more days to go. This week, we are proclaiming God’s rule. We spend time praying, but now we’re declaring that God rules in the midst of every situation and that His power is exercised in the domain of life.Today, we’re looking at the Lord. He is God. First Kings, chapter 18, verses 38 to 39: «Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice and the wood and the stones and the dust and licked up the water that was in the trench. Now, when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces and said, 'The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God! '» What a remarkable declaration: «The Lord, He is God!»

This is something that happened in the history of Israel. King Ahab of Israel went into apostasy and started worshiping Baal, one of the gods of the nations around them. Ahab had married a woman named Jezebel, who was from Sidon. This was a political marriage to try and unite Israel with its neighbors, but Jezebel came into Israel with her god Baal, and she influenced her husband Ahab, the king of Israel, to start worshiping Baal. Pretty soon, she started influencing all the important people to worship Baal, and then they began persecuting the priests and prophets, sometimes killing them or locking them up. The worship of Baal had become the predominant worship in Israel.

In the midst of that, God raised a prophet named Elijah. Elijah’s ministry was confrontational; he had to confront this worship of a false god in Israel. So, Elijah called the prophets of Baal-about 450 of them-to a place called Mount Carmel to decide which god Israel should worship. They prepared a sacrifice and stated that the god who answers by fire is the God they would worship. The prophets of Baal prayed all day, but nothing happened. Their sacrifice was raw meat. Elijah prayed, and there was fire. When the people saw the God who answers by fire, they bowed and said, «The Lord, He is God!»

What happened on Mount Carmel will happen again, because the Bible says that one of these days, at the mention of Jesus, every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord. They bowed on Mount Carmel, and they will bow in life. I don’t know what force has lifted itself against you, but the Lord, He is God. Thus, over the earth, we proclaim: the Lord, He is God. We proclaim the Lord, He is God over nature and all its forces: the trees, the plants, the mountains, the rivers, the seas, and the oceans. We proclaim the Lord, He is God over every king and every rulership of power in any form-political power, financial power, academic power, scientific power. We proclaim the Lord, He is God over every idol, over spiritual authorities, principalities, and forces of evil running through the earth and trying to harass your life. We proclaim today, «The Lord, He is God!»

God has given us authority to make that proclamation. Today, we declare that the Lord is God in every situation of your life, in everything you are going through, and in every condition trying to turn your life wrong. We declare the Lord, He is God. At the mention of the name of Jesus, every knee bows-of things in heaven, things on the earth, and things under the earth.

That is our confidence and our proclamation today as we honor the Lord for who He is. We have prayed, we have trusted Him, and we boldly proclaim: the Lord, He is God. Let us pray. Say with me: «Heavenly Father, there is none like You. There is none besides You. We bow to You and declare Your power over all things. In Jesus' name, Amen and Amen.» Whatever is harassing you bows because the Lord, He is God. I am Pastor Mensa Otabil. Shalom, peace, and life to you.
