Mensa Otabil - With God, Nothing Will Be Impossible

Mensa Otabil - With God, Nothing Will Be Impossible
TOPICS: Word to Go, Christmas

Luke 1, verses 36 and 37: «Now indeed, Elizabeth, your relative, has also conceived a son in her old age, and this is now the sixth month of her who was called barren. For with God, nothing will be impossible.» There are so many miracles surrounding the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, including Elizabeth’s pregnancy. After the angel Gabriel announced God’s word to Mary, he told her about what had happened to Elizabeth, the wife of Zacharias. The angel said that Elizabeth was pregnant after so long a time of not being pregnant and described Elizabeth as «she who was called barren.»

This description shows that Elizabeth’s childlessness was well known in a society and age where having children seemed to be the most prized role of a woman. It would have seemed very depressing for this woman when she couldn’t have a child, and people had already called her barren. But God changed her name, and I pray that God will change your name if it’s a negative name. If you have been labeled something wrong, He will bring something good out of you. To assure Mary that God could do the impossible, the angel says to her that Elizabeth has experienced the impossible, and with God, nothing will be impossible.

This is one of the most important foundations of our faith: we serve a God of possibility. We serve a God who makes things happen, which is why we have faith in Him. Because He is a God of possibility, the whole of creation came out of nothing. He spoke things into being; He spoke light into being, He spoke vegetation into being, He spoke animals into being. He said, «Let there be,» and there was. He is a mighty God; He’s an awesome God, and with Him, nothing will be impossible. This God of possibility is able to change our stories. This God of possibility changed the story of Elizabeth, and throughout history, He has been changing people’s stories.

Those who are called sinners are made righteous; those who are called weak are made strong; those who are called sick are made well; those who are called poor are made prosperous. I don’t know what you are called, but we serve a God of possibility, and He can make all things work positively in your situation. If you can trust Him as we see Mary trust in Him, then the God of possibility will manifest all possibilities in your life. I pray that as you go through this day, the supernatural power of God will break forth in your life; that you will experience help from on high; that God will turn difficult situations around for you.

When people have given up on you, God will come in for you, rescue your situation from destruction, give you help, peace, and satisfaction. He’s a God of salvation; He saves, He salvages, He delivers, He uplifts, and He will do it for you. With God, nothing will be impossible. Let’s share a word of prayer together. Say with me, «Heavenly Father, You are the God of all possibility. Turn every negative situation in my life into a positive testimony, in Jesus' name. Amen and amen.» I’m just excited for you that God is going to do something awesome in your life. Get ready for it! The God of possibility is breaking forth into your life. I’m Pastor Mensa Otabil. Shalom, peace and life to you.
