Kenneth Copeland - Your Feelings Are Lying to You
TOPICS: Feelings

Father, we thank you for these words today. Words of the living God. We thank you that faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. And we praise you and honor you for it. In Jesus name, Amen.

Welcome everybody to the believers voice of victory broadcast. We're here in class of Kenneth Copeland Bible college. So we welcome you this morning and we're glad you're here. Praise God. Welcome to the fanatics. Glory to God. And we're studying the faith of God, the spiritual force that's born into the heart of a born again believer into the Spirit of a born again child of God. Hallelujah. The creative force of almighty God, and its resident and every born again Christian and we thank God for it, don't we? But it is governed by spiritual law.

In the book of Romans, it says, by what law works. No. But by the law of faith, spiritual laws, physical laws, the laws of physics can be defined. A law is something that works every time it's put to work. It has, uh, it has predetermined results. But think about all of the trial and error that went through people, that scientists went through trying to figure out how to get something to work. The elements had to be correct for it to it function. And my being a pilot for nearly 60 years now, I think about the laws of flight or the laws of lift, you have to get those laws in place. There were some really what looked like some pretty good ideas that were the goofiest things. You look back on those silly pictures now and you wonder what was that guy thinking? Well, he didn't know what he was thinking.

Is this just something that looked like it might work and it failed miserably, but you just kept getting this right and getting that one right and getting that one right until they, and the, as it grew. Well, I've, I've learned over the years that there's nothing in the laws of flight that don't mirror the laws of faith. When I learned how to fly instruments, then I came there, they just have to hammer it into your head, man. Don't be believing what you see. You can't be looking out when you can't see anything cause you'll start turning and don't know it. Your flesh a fool. You cause your inner ear of fool you, that airplane can gradually do like this and your inner ear doesn't know it. You come out from under the clouds and you're almost inverted. Then you get scared and yank it. Yank the wings off of the thing.

Now that happened in the early days of instrument flying. So what do you do? Boy, my instrument and structured just hammer it into you; don't believe your feelings. Believe those gauges. Believe those instruments. They're not lying to you. Well when I came, in fact, I was still a student at Oral Roberts university in 1967. And, uh, and I'm, I'm listening to Brother Hagin, I'm watching Brother Roberts in the meetings, cause I flew for him and that was watching him do it and listening to Brother Hagin teach it. And I said, Gloria, I already know how to do this. I have already been trained not to believe what I feel and believe what I see, but to believe the truth.

So I just substituted my Bible for those flight instruments, one substitute for the other. And I believe that not what I feel and I want a, there's one time in my flying career in the early part of it, I got into vertigo really bad and I'm telling you I wanted to turn that airplane so bad and, and, and, and I was, uh, I had to get, get my head down and, and retumble my gyros, get my inner ear straightened out where it wasn't turning and gradually loosen it. Now I knew how to fly instruments. I was not an instrument pilot yet or I wouldn't have been down there low like that. Scud running anyway and uh, and got on those gauges and it took me awhile. I'm still wanting to turn that airplanes, but why? Because I felt it's so strong. I just feel like, Oh Brother Copeland, I just feeling like God's not hearing me, I'm just feeling like the Spirit of God has left me.

Well your feelings are lying to you. He said, I will never leave you. I will never forsake you. Ever. That's what you believe. Amen. Well I'm glad we got into that, that, that needed to be settled. And I know not so much in this room, but there are people watching that, that need to have that, that settled forever. So when you feel like God's not there, sweetheart, that's when you better know he is. I know you're here, Lord. I know you're with me. I know you're for me. Praise God. Hallelujah. I'm not moved by what I see and I'm not moved by what I feel. I'm moved by what I believe, and I believe this book, hallelujah. Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord.

Now let's pick up where we were yesterday and we're in these fundamentals of faith in Mark chapter five and the woman with the issue of blood. A certain woman, 5:25, which had an issue of blood 12 years, say 12 years, had suffered many things of many physicians had spent all that she had. Now would not this have been a really, I'm telling you, this woman is bleeding. She's hurting. She'd been sick for 12 years. It's cost her her whole livelihood. She has nothing left because of many physicians. Now it's really easy to start blaming those conditions for her financial situation. Listen, that'd be really easy to do. Look, look, look. Now I can't find nothing, but there's bunch of cracks. I mean, they be cutting me and mess around on me.

Now what kind of doctors they got around here anyway? I'm still bleeding to death and now I'm a shut in. I can't get out. I'm sick. I don't feel like getting out. And besides that, if I get out on the streets with this issue of blood, I'm a candidate for stoning. So, those doctors did this to me. No, sweetheart, the devil did that to you. He is the author of this. Amen. Now, why is that so important? Because faith, this is one of the laws. This is the first law really because it governs everything. The law of love, faith worketh by love. Amen. Well, of course it does, God is love. God doesn't have love. He is love. He has faith. Come on, praise God. That's exciting ain't it? That unscrambled a whole lot.

Well, obviously since faith doesn't work in an unforgiving heart, it's very obvious she had forgiven these physicians. They were not her problem any longer now and suffered many things when she had heard of Jesus. Well, we know what she heard. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Romans 10:17, she heard the Word. Somebody is relaying what Jesus is preaching to her. Now she lives in Capernaum. And uh, I know, and you do too. Jesus home is now in Capernaum. And you know, they had lookouts all the time, all the time watching for him when he gets home. Woo. I've got some I won't talk to Jesus about. Yeah man. Glory to God.

Let me give you a little nugget you can put in your bag and carry it home with you. Do you remember 18th chapter of Matthew when Jesus talked about the prayer of agreement and took this little child and so you remember that? He taught that whole thing in his living room, the whole 18th chapter he taught at home. Oh, that's good ain't it? That was some, I don't know whose child that was, but he's sitting there with this little guy in his lap and I can just see him, but you know, come here sweet thing. And just sit there with his arms around that child and teach agreement and that wonderful big smile on his face and these teaching agreement. Any two of you shall agree on touching anything.

Now think about the power of this because he said, where two or three are gathered together in my name there am I in the midst of them now wait, wait, wait, wait. He wasn't out in the street when he was teaching this. He's at home. He's surrounded by his disciples and he's, he's surrounded by families. Amen. And what's he saying? Any two or three of you gathered together in my name there am I in the midst of you, just like today. That'll talk to you sweetheart. Amen, well he's here right now, you just can't see him. But I want you to know he is right here. Now, why? Why did he say that? Why is he in the midst? To carry out the agreement.

Now there's another huge truth in the teaching of the prayer of agreement whatsoever you bind on earth is bound in heaven. Heaven can't bind to anything until you do. God created this whole thing. Then he created the man, put him in it, gave him authority over all the works of his hands and just because he threw it away doesn't change that fact. He still has to function under what the almighty God said, because God's Word is. And so he, I mean, that's what he said and that's what he did so that that law stands and uh, so whatever you loose on earth is then loosed in heaven. Glory to God. Amen, that was worth coming to school for today. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Praise God.

Now then, so she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind and touched his garment for, she said, now check it out. The Greek word lego for she kept saying, she kept saying, you remember a little Lego sets little building blocks. I think about that every, every time I think about she's building faith. She's building faith. She can't do it without the Word. Now, she didn't have a Bible to go by, but she, somebody relaying the Word to her, she's hearing what Jesus is preaching. Amen. And I, you know, I don't know, Jairus is the leader of the synagogue that, that that's where she goes to synagogue where she used to now she can't because it's illegal and she took her life in her own hands, but she had to. Faith demands corresponding action.

Let's go to the book of James. Tim, how much time do I have, sir? Thank you Lord. Good. James chapter two, thank you Lord. You getting anything out of this? I sure am. Glory to God. Thank you Lord Jesus. Now then let's, let's read down here from uh, Ooh, I wish we had time to go through this whole second chapter. Verse 15, if a brother or sister be naked and destitute of daily food. No, I can't start there. Let's go back to the eighth verse. If you fulfill the Royal law according to the scripture, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thy self you do well. But if you have respect to persons, you commit sins and so forth.

Lets come down to the 14th verse, what does it profit my brother though a man say he has faith and have not works. He's not talking about earning something of that kind of thing. He's talking about corresponding action. If a brother or sister be naked or destitute of daily food, and one of you should say to him, depart in peace and be warmed and filled, not withstanding you give him those things which are needful for the body. What does it profit? Even so if you have not works is dead being faith. Even so faith if it hath not corresponding action is dead, being alone.

Now, back up to the first chapter. If, verse 22, if ye be doers of the word, corresponding action, if ye be doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. Now look at the 25th verse. Who so looketh into the perfect law of Liberty? That's what he calls the Word. You get it? Jesus said, continue in my word you'll be my disciples indeed, and you shall know the truth and the truth will make you free. It's the perfect law of Liberty, but it demands corresponding action. Hallelujah. Thank you Lord.

Study out that first and second chapter of James. Well, of course, the whole book of James is just a goldmine. It's the oldest book in the new Testament written by Jesus' half brother. Amen. Same mother, different father. So this means he watched Jesus do all this. Why? Why do you think his brother hated him so? Well think about it. Come on. They don't know who he is. Only his mother knows the condition of his birth. Why can't you be like Jesus? Jesus wouldn't have done that. Jesus never does anything wrong. Ain't nobody can be like Jesus. I said, huh, that's tough brother. Amen. And particularly the fact when you can't make him mad. And he never says anything wrong and he always smiles. Come on. Thank you Lord Jesus.

Alright. And immediately, and notice she kept saying, she kept saying it. If I touched but his clothes, I'll be whole. If I touched with his clothes, I'll be whole. Now, what's she saying? I call myself whole. What is she doing? She's calling things that be not as though they were. She's not paying any attention to she's bleeding to death, skin and bones. This is a sick woman, but she considers, she's like Abraham. She considers not her own body, almost dead. What's she been hearing him preach? Only what he'd been saying and if I but touch the hem of his garment, I'll receive it. I will have it. What's happening? In her mind she already has it. She's seeing herself well. She didn't say I'll be healed. She said I'll be whole. She could have been healed and still been in a terrible shape financially to be whole, she's going to have to get all of her property back. She's going to have to take back everything the devil stole from her.

Amen, and I can just see her. I can just see her. Doctor, I just wanted you to get a look at me now. She's seeing stuff like this. Oh, I can hardly wait. I can hardly wait until he gets home. I, it's time. It's time. I'm going out there and I don't want Jairus to see me, I know I'd be alright for Jesus, but I don't want him seeing me because I need to get better before he sees me. I need to go to the priest and show him that I'm healed and not bleeding anymore. I needed. I need to do what the Torah says that I need to be right. You know I do this. Amen, cause he's the one who got right to stone me dead. If he sees me out here, Jairus didn't have her on his mind. Amen, wouldn't have cared anyway. He's more like Jesus than she has any idea. Jairus is. Amen, thank you Lord. We're out of time.
