Kenneth Copeland - Put the Blessing to Work

TOPICS: Blessing

Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Believer's Voice of Victory broadcast. We praise God that you're here today, and isn't it good that Jesus is Lord? And not some idiot? I'm so glad I'm not Lord, oh! He is Lord. Hallelujah! And through Him and through our covenant with God, along with Him, we are possessors of heaven and earth. Excuse me.

Now we're learning, we're learning, actually, in our golden text there's Proverbs 10:22. The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and He adds no sorrow. That word translated sorrow is toil. He adds no toiling. We made this observation. You didn't earn your salvation, you received it by grace and faith. You didn't earn the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you received it by grace and faith. You didn't earn your healing, and why should you then think that you have to earn your money? No, a born-again child of God should be functioning under the blessing of the Lord. Now, I didn't say you didn't have to work. You don't work, you don't eat. That's about just as much Bible as by His stripes you were healed. Amen.

Now one thing about all of you in the ministry. You're expected to work hard, but don't make all your work in your flesh. No, sir. No, ma'am. We're on call 24 hours a day by our heavenly Father. You should not be on call 24 hours a day just at the whim of people that want to... I'll tell you what. I was in a meeting three weeks, and, oh, Jesus. I get home after the service and I get in the bed. And I was staying in the pastor's home, and the phone would ring. And it'd be for me. "Brother Copeland"? "Yes, Ma'am"? "Uh, can you help me"? This woman was a pastor. "Do you think it's all right if I get married again"? I said, "What, of course". "Who to"? I said, "I'm not going to tell you who to marry. I'm not going to do it. Bye". Just hang up. Then it takes you a little while to get back to sleep.

Well, you know. Finally, this went on night after night after night. I said, "God, help me". So finally she called again, and very same question with a little whiny voice. I said, "All right. I've heard from the Lord. Get married"! She said, "Which one"? I said, "I'm not going to tell you which one to marry if you get..." I said, "Don't call me anymore. I'm not going to talk to you. Bye". You're not on call for that. You are not on call for that. People have the idea that you're just a slave. You serve the people, you're not a slave. You remember what the apostle said? It is not good that we tend to other stuff outside the Word of God and prayer. We don't want to have time to settle all these arguments and all this kind of thing. But this is where the blessing of the Lord becomes so important. To roll all your care over on Jesus.

1 Peter 5:6-10, He is your caretaker. Roll the care of it over on Him. Glory to God. And believe in His love for you, and believe in that blessing. Amen. Thank you, Lord. Now we've talked about down through this place where we were in the 14th chapter of Genesis. Melchizedek, who was Shem, the son of Noah, he blessed him and said, "Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth, and blessed be the most high God". See what he said there? He wasn't calling God the possessor of heaven and earth, he was calling Abram that. Read it carefully. He blessed him and said, "Blessed be Abram of", in other words, covenant partner, "Of the most high God, possessor of heaven and Earth, and blessed be the most high God, which has delivered you". Or, delivered your enemies into your hand.

So the blessing that God spoke over Adam, the blessing of the Lord. Once it was released into the earth, you can't get it out. And it is God Himself. It is the Spirit of God Himself. Everything that Jesus did in His earthly ministry, He did it as a blessed, anointed man. Huh? A blessed, anointed man. He said, "I only say what I hear my Father say. I only do what I see my Father do". He said, "The Son can do nothing of Himself". Without that anointing, the Father that dwelleth within, He does the work, He just as helpless as you and me or anybody else. Because in Nazareth there, He could do no mighty works, save He laid his hands on a few sick folks. Look it up for yourself. A few people with minor ailments and healed them, because of their unbelief. So what did He do? People think He just healed everybody. No, He didn't.

There were a lot of people, in some places it said He healed many, and there were places where He healed them all. But it wasn't His choice. He preached, He taught, and He healed. It was according to their faith. He healed all manner of sickness and disease. Amen. But He didn't heal everybody. He taught first. Because of their unbelief there in Nazareth, what'd He do? He just started going from village to village, synagogue to synagogue, teaching and preaching, teaching and preaching.

Now it doesn't say this. I firmly believe it. I firmly believe this, that as He taught and as He preached, there were people right there in Nazareth that got their healing when they finally realized who He really is. Glory to God. Amen. All right. But I wanted you to see it started with Adam. He was blessed of the Lord. It was the blessing of the Lord on Jesus. What do you think the anointing is? Hey! It's God. The blessed one who blesses. Do I have to shout any louder than this? Ho, ho, ho, ho. Glory, glory.

Now let's go down. Now, we've watched the blessing. See, God had to have that blessing in the earth. That's what replenished the earth. That's what replenished the earth. I'm not talking about filling it with people. Get that off of your mind. He's not talking about that. People do that without God. That's what people do. That wasn't a problem. The problem was the earth is now under the influence of sin, and the thing is coming apart. Now you've got storms. Now you've got killings. Now you've got all of this mess, and the earth has to be replenished. Hey! Yeah, Lord, let's see here.

The eighth chapter of Romans, verse 19. "For the earnest expectation of the creature, the creation waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God who have the blessing. For the whole creation is groaning". It is the blessing that replenishes it. The blessing of the Lord. And you and I got born again, it was born into us. We need to learn. Now you know why Abraham, strong in faith, giving glory to God, he knew that blessing. Watched it work, knew it would work, and depended on it to work. Hallelujah.

Now you and I need to get the same attitude about it. Thank you, Lord. Now, then. Let's go to 39th chapter of Genesis, to the life of Joseph. Oh, thank you, Jesus. What a man. Now all of you know the story. I will add this to it. That family, of course it had a great destiny ahead of it, but it sure didn't know it at the time. And God, because of the destiny on that family, what does He have to have? What is He desperate for? I'm talking about God. The blessing! I'm not, do dee do dee do. He has to have it. He had to have a prophet born into that family. Joseph is a key issue to the future of Israel. God had to have it. Satan's getting too much done in that family. Those brothers, I mean, they didn't even love one another, and they hated Joseph. Why? He's blessed. We finally got there. Well, it wasn't their hate, Satan hated him. Why? He's deathly afraid of him. He's got to kill him. Who's this remind you of?

See, Satan, he's got a death sentence hanging over him. God pronounced it on him in the Garden of Eden. There's One coming going to put his heel on your head. He's going to bust your plate, brother. He's coming. And he thinks, oh. So anytime he saw the blessing, oh, here he come, maybe this is it. Maybe this is the one. So he sees this, I mean, this kid's got it all over him. He's got dreams, visions. The blessing's on him. So man, I mean, Satan's already preparing Potiphar's wife. I mean, he's... So you know the story. Now, Joseph, you just watch the blessing work all the way through that. I mean, they were going to kill him. Dipped his coat of many colors in an animal blood. They fully intended to kill that kid and be done with him forever.

Well, maybe we shouldn't do that. The blessing's at work. Let's put him in the cistern. Obviously, it's dry. He can't get out of there. But he did. Just happened to have a caravan going to where? Egypt. Right where God needed him. They fished him out of the cistern, and off he goes. The blessing of the Lord that's on Joseph had that caravan right there at the right time. And it was the blessing that came on his big brother to keep them from killing him. Because he was kind of soft-hearted towards him, anyway. Amen. Thank you, Lord.

So he's taken to Egypt, and Joseph was brought down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, this guy is standing in a general rank. He's a wealthy man, he's got a lot of property. He's a general officer. Bought him off the hands of the Ishmaelites which had brought him down there. And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man. And he was in the house of his master the Egyptian, and his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand. And the blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich. It doesn't care where you are, you can be in hell's half acre somewhere on the other side of the world. God didn't call you to go over there and be poor like them. He called you to take that blessing in there and change that place and put it upside right, and to fix things there, and cause the prosperity of God to come on that place.

Why do you think us prosperity preachers get so much hell persecution from Satan himself to stop that blessing, to stop it. Poor preachers can't get anything done. A preacher with money is Satan's worst, worst nightmare. We pay off houses. We buy cars and restaurants. When little divorced waitresses wind up without a place to live and no car, had to move in with her parents, you don't just sit there and say, "Oh, my. Be blessed. I hope you get a car". No. You buy the car. I'm not bragging on Gloria and me. I mean, we proved what we could do, we didn't, you kidding me? She said, "You must have borrowed money on your tricycle".

I didn't tell her I was that deep in debt before I married her, you understand? That's stupid. The blessing of the Lord. It's not to make something out of us. No, no. I wouldn't even have told you about that. For any other reason. Amen. You get to that place where God blesses you and got to bless somebody else. He told Abraham, "I'll make you a blessing. I'll bless you to make you a blessing. I'll make you rich to make other people rich". Not so you can just back beg and be big-eyed. The blessing of the Lord, man. The blessing of the Lord, woman. It made him rich.

And you just look into the mirror and say it. I'm rich. I'm rich. Whereby we cry, "Abba". Father. We've not received the spirit again to fear. But the spirit of adoption. I'm a child. I'm a born child of the most high God. I have first-born status. And I'm blessed with Abraham, Isaac, Joseph. I'm blessed with Jesus. I'm blessed with Paul. Peter, John, James, Paul. I'm blessed with them. I have like faith with them. They're all born-again people. They're not apostles first, they're born again. Yeah, but he was an apostle.

Well, what are you? It didn't work for Paul because he's an apostle. It worked for him because he believed it. The believer lays hands on the sick and they recover. How? Because you're blessed, that's how. You're blessed. Do you ever see Jesus saying, "Oh, that man dead. Oh, God help me, I hope this works because I'm going to do it right out here in front of everybody". You don't ever see Jesus requiring faith. You don't ever see... Faith not on His mind. He's used it. He just used the blessing. Yeah, but He's the Son of God. Well, who are you? You want me to tell you who you are? You're out of time, that's who you are.
