Kenneth Copeland - Jesus Gave You His Victory Over the Curse
Hello, everybody. I’m Kenneth Copeland. This is the Believer’s Voice of Victory broadcast and the Kenneth Copeland Bible College. Faith is the catalyst. It’s what holds it together without faith. So let’s go over here to the book of Hebrews. And don’t turn here. I’m just going to read this. It is impossible to please God without it. We just remember that always.
Now, here in the book, let me just read down through there because it’s Friday. Can’t be saved without it. Can’t live the Christian life without it. Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38, Habakkuk 2:4. You can’t walk the Christian walk without it. 2 Corinthians 5, 6, and 7. We walk by faith and not by sight. You can’t fight the Christian fight without faith. 1 John 1:5, You can’t overcome the world without faith. Number six, Whatever’s not of faith is sin. Number seven, 2 Corinthians 1:24, You can’t stand without faith. You can’t extinguish the fiery darts of the enemy without faith. Ephesians 6:16, You can’t be blessed without it. So that’s pretty well settles the questions.
Now, what I call the Faith Hall of Fame. We finished yesterday. We’re not of them who draw back unto perdition, but to them that believe for the saving of the soul, for the renewing of the mind. Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it, the elders obtained a good report. Through faith, we understand that the world was framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen are not made of the things which do appear. By faith, Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous. And I want to deal with that for just a minute. Let me just hold here. It was not because Cain did not get a lamb. That was not what his job was. That’s wrong. I used to think that, but that’s because I didn’t read it carefully. No. If you read it, I’ll just use a farm term. Instead of bringing the first of his crop, he brought the nubbins and it’s in there out of its season. He didn’t want to do that.
Of course, Abel brought a lamb. He was a shepherd. So where did Cain get his wife? Abel had sisters. But it’s important you know that. God would have been so unjust that he’d done that. He was to bring the first of his crops. Anyway, that’s the fact right there. Enoch was translated that he is to not see death. God translated him, before translation, had this testimony that he pleased God. Without faith, it is impossible to please him, for he that comes to God must believe that he is and that he’s the rewarder of him that diligently seek him. And of course, we know about Noah.
By faith, Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place where he’s receiving inherits and obeyed, and he went out not knowing where he went. By faith, he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country dwelling in tabernacles, as Isaac and Jacob, the heirs of him, the same promise. For he looked for a city which hath foundation, whose builder and maker is God. Through faith also, Sarah herself received strength and conceived seed and delivered a child when she was past the age. Listen, because she judged him faithful, she judged him faithful who had promised. Therefore, spraying up even of one good is dead. 13, All these died in faith, not having received the promise, having seen them afar, often persuaded, and so forth and so on. There’s one I want to get to here.
Verse 17, By faith, Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac, and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, of whom it was said that in Isaac so shall thy seed be called, accounting that God was able to raise him up even from the dead, when also he received him in a figure. I want to stop right there. What does that mean? He received him in a figure. He’s the father of many nations. He said, «I’m fully persuaded». He took God at his Word. I’m going to get to see this boy raised up out of these ashes. He raised the knife. Do you know what happened? You remember what happened? Huh? An angel stopped him, right?
God’s covenant partner from the 17th chapter of the book of Genesis was willing to offer up his only begotten son, and the angel stopped him. And now God is obligated by covenant. The day is coming and his only begotten Son would say, «Let this cup pass from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours be done». And if his covenant partner was willing to do it, he had no way to back out. He couldn’t back out because the day’s coming. It’s coming and he couldn’t back off. So what did God do? He couldn’t, hey, you have to get it into the earth through the prophets to give the people something to say. That’s the way the book works. Fulfill that which Isaiah the prophet said. That’s the way it works.
So the Spirit of God dropped it into the heart of David and he wrote a Psalm called 22. It is the whole thing. So now Jesus had the Word of God already in the earth by his psalmist David. He latched on. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? And if you read it in the Classic Amplified, it comes up, it is finished. And there’s been a lot of discussion and that’s good things is discussed about what’s finished and all that. The important thing in here, class, is the fact that once that was in the earth, now he has provided his Son with the weapon and the equipment to get him through hell itself. And all you have to do to find that out is read the first three chapters of the book of Acts. It talks about David. You’ll not leave my soul in hell, neither my body seek corruption. He’s quoting that psalm.
I really wanted to get to that. That God, because Christian people are so used to Old Testament, New Testament, it’s first covenant and second covenant. And there are now translations that translate it that way. It’s important covenant, blood covenants. There is no more stronger affirmation in the human family than the covenant made in blood. Hallelujah. So once that was done, came back out. Aren’t you glad? And so you remember on resurrection day… now Mary, her last name was not Magdalene. She was from Magdal. So when we get to heaven, we find out what the woman’s name is. We know her first name, Mary. He said, don’t touch me. I have not yet risen my Father and your Father.
Well, what happened? Then later he came back and appeared. What happened during that time? It’s right there in the book of Hebrews. There had to be a cleansing of the heavenly utensils of worship. And in the ninth chapter of Hebrews 23, It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices. The sin of Adam polluted everything on the earth and in heaven all the way up to, but not including the throne of God. But all of the heavenly tools of worship and all, they had to be cleansed. And that’s the reason it was called the Ark of the Covenant, the heavenly Ark of the Covenant.
So all of that sin, now since the resurrection has been wiped out. So that class, I didn’t know it in 1962 when I accepted Jesus as my Lord and savior. And for several seconds there, I couldn’t close my mouth. I didn’t know I was a new creature. But from that date, profanity was gone forever. I had to learn then who I was and who I am. Then now you get into who we are in Christ Jesus. Oh, what a study. So I just take what Brother Hagin told us that over in the letters in Christ, in whom, the in Christ, in whom whosoever scriptures, then that’s who we are in Christ. In Christ, we are blessed. I’m blessed before the foundation of the world. So God knew me before the foundation of the world. In Christ, in the Anointed One, in the Messiah Himself, in Christ, say it, in Christ, in whom, in him.
There’s something like 134 times that this occurs. And there are others that allude to it. But oh my, who we are in Christ. We’ve been given liberty in Christ. We’ve been given adoption in Christ. So we’re first born. I mean, there’s some shouting ground here if you’d like to take it. And if I could put it this way, this whole two weeks, faith-filled words dominate the laws of sin and death. Now then we have to go back to the book and realize that the way the book works. Isaiah 53, four and five. Surely he bore our griefs and sorrows, sicknesses and pains. We did esteem him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted, but he was wounded. I do it every morning. I did it this morning. He was wounded from my transgressions. He was bruised from my iniquities and the chastisement of my peace was upon him.
And with his stripes, I am healed. It is also written in the second covenant, Matthew chapter eight. And Jesus came into Peter’s house and I’m on a crossbreed between Mark and Luke. Jesus came into Peter’s house and so his wife’s mother laid sick of a great fever. He rebuked the fever and touched her hand and the fever left her. She got up and ministered unto them. And when evening was come, they brought many who were possessed with devils. He cast out the devils with his Word and healed all that were sick, fulfilling that which was spoken by the prophet Isaiah saying, He took my infirmities and bore my sickness. Hallelujah. Bless the Lord O, my soul. Bless his holy name. Bless the Lord O, my soul. And I’ll never forget his benefits. He has redeemed my life from destruction. He’s forgiven me of all of my iniquities and healed all my diseases, filled my mouth with good words. So my youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Yay!.. Hallelujah. Thank You, Jesus. I was sitting up with my mother and I was just sitting there and she moved and the Lord said, «She didn’t need healing». What? You could have fooled me. No. He said, «You notice how quickly I healed that pneumonia they said she had»? I said, «Lord, yes. Yes, and so». He said, «She doesn’t need healing. She is worn out». She wasn’t asleep. She prayed all the time. I said, «Dad, does she ever sleep»? He said, «Kenneth, she doesn’t even wrinkle the sheets» because the doctor told her she wasn’t going to live a 10 years. And the Lord said, «Don’t you remember in my Word in the 103rd Psalm, I’ll renew your youth like the eagle’s». I said, «Well, yes, sir». He said, «You start praying that».
And I said, «Well, I mean, Lord, I mean, they’re telling me she can go any day. I pray this for her now». He said, «All things are possible by him that believes». So I prayed that over her. Her youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Her youth is renewed like the eagle’s. She lived over two more years. They were expecting her to go then. So I decided, Vinita Copeland’s little boy is not going to pass this. So this is part of my prayer at breakfast. I received my food, blessed and sanctified according to the Word of God, bless the Lord O my soul. Your will be done on earth in this nation, in the judges, the midterms, so forth. I’ve been praying this. I didn’t just start this recently. This has been a lifetime thing. Praise God.
That’s a good place for an Amen. Cause hey, how old are you? Yeah. 22… 32 is coming. I didn’t learn this until, well, I was just about, we started this ministry. I was 30 and right about just about that time, just about the age you are now. And I’m 88. So it’s worked. Now I’m not indicating you that I pray that every morning for breakfast, but I’m led to pray other things at breakfast, but I make a point to pray it more than not. And then this morning I prayed it and spent some time on it this morning. Amen. Thank You, Father. My commentary for these two weeks, what is the bottom line? Faith-filled words dominate the laws of sin and death bracket, as long as they are God’s words. Not just something I… Well, and I heard Brother Hagin say this and this is kind of off the hill, but this goes right along with what I’m talking about.
There was a woman, she was with a widow woman and she kept after me. Should I get remarried? I said, «Well, certainly». And then she called me again. I was in a meeting and she was in a meeting and I said, «You know what the scripture says about it». And she called me another night and she called me and she just kept calling me in the middle of the night. She said, «Should I get married»? I said, «Yes». She said, «To who»? I said, «Lady, bye». To who? Thank you, Jesus. I was ministering to a woman with cancer and I would go by there and see her and well, she’d catch hold, had cancer, the lungs can catch hold. She got healed and got healed. I mean, she was, it was healed and she called me back. She said, «Brother Copeland, this thing has come back on me». I said, cause I kept telling her she’s a covenant woman. I said, «Okay, get your Bible». She said, «Where’s my Bible»? I rest my case. We’re out of time. We’ll be back in just a moment.
