Kenneth Copeland - Jesus Came To Heal You
TOPICS: Healing

And oh, Father, we thank You this morning in the name of Jesus. Thank You, Lord. Praise God. He's the Healer. I'm not the healer, but I know him. Hallelujah. And we're in his presence and he's in our presence this morning. Now then, I want to tell you about little Willie Phelps. Now, Willie's legs didn't work. And when Brother Roberts would... when that anointing in his right hand would stop, he stopped. He'd go and do... There was one time, he promised God he would never enter into a service without that because that's what he received from the Lord, and the Lord said that to him. And he just sat in his hotel room and wouldn't go to the meeting. And he came, he got up and left.

Well, he walked out of the service that day, tired, and little Willie Phelps was waiting for him. Of course, his mother was there. He said, are you Oral Roberts? He said, yes, I am. He said, I'm supposed to be healed today. He said, well, son, you know, about the anointing is gone and left me. - I don't know about that. All I know is I'm supposed to be healed today. And so, he said, well, all right, I'll do the praying if you'll do the believing. And of course, his mother agreed. Yes, sir, he said, I'm supposed to be healed today. He laid his hands on him and instantly his legs were made strong and he walked out of his presence. And I talked to Richard about that. He said, "It's absolutely the greatest miracle in all the years".

Willie Phelps grew up to be a man of God. Hallelujah. He laid his hands on him and his mother just turned him loose and he just, but he was supposed to be healed today. Well, you're supposed to be healed today and you're supposed to be healed. You're supposed to live in divine health. Praise God. Now, we will walk with Jesus today and just see how easy it is to receive from him. Not one time in his life or ministry, nor by any of the apostles. Now, I know men have said this, but they didn't get it out of the Bible. It isn't in there. It isn't in there in the first covenant and it isn't in there in the second and the last covenant. Well, you'll just have to keep this a while longer.

You see, the Lord is trying to teach you something. One man said, I didn't hear this one, Brother Hagin did. He said, there's not too many people that I can trust with cancer. Well, now this is my opinion of it because I can see where it would come from. Pastors and so forth, particularly in the pastoral ministry, they're hurting for their people and they don't have any clue about why they're sick. So they just say, God did it and go over there to the curse and find it. See there, he'll put that on you. Well, read the rest of it. We've been redeemed from the curse. And lack of knowledge of that factor right there has kept people bound for centuries. Go over there, God will put this on you. I'm telling you now, I heard this one. I heard it. I was there and I know him. He just got excited and got all carried away. He said, "God will break your leg just to prove to you he can heal it". Well, you don't need any proof. This Book is your proof. Say it again, "I'm not moved by what I feel. I'm not moved by what I see. I'm moved only by what I believe. And I believe the Word of the living God".

Now this came from Brother Hagin. God said it. I believe it. And that settles it. He said it right here. Say it again. God said it. I believe it. And that settles it. And I'm supposed to be healed today. Glory to God. Thank You, Jesus. Now, there are different healings that we see in the life and ministry of Jesus. Praise God. Let's go to the book of Mark. "When they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples. And the same day, when evening was come, he saith unto them, Let's pass over unto the other side". He explained all that. Now watch. "And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in a ship, and there were also ships with him, other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so now it was full. He was in the hinder part asleep".

He was trying to get some sleep. Preached all day long. "He was in the hinder part asleep on a pillow. They woke him up and said to him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? He arose and rebuked the wind, and said, he rebuked the wind, and he said..." So what is that? He spoke to it in faith. "He said unto the sea peace be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, Why are you so fearful? How is it you don't have any faith"? In other words, they could have done that. He just got through explaining it. And he said, "Let's go to the other side". Well, knowing Peter, instead of being afraid, he could have said, "Well, the Master said, We're going to the other side, and I'm talking to you. Just be quiet," because that's what he would have done. It would have worked, because he said so. "And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him"?

He's a faith man. He's a faith man. So now, they came over unto the other side of the sea, of the sea of Galilee. "When he was come out of the ship, immediately they came, there met him out of the tombs, a man with an unclean spirit". Now, remember 6th chapter of the book of Ephesians. We wrestle not with flesh and blood, but with principalities, powers, listen to this one, rulers of the darkness of this world, one devil. Those are the ones that possess people, ruler of the darkness of this world, then wicked spirits in the heavenlies. Now, what's the accuracy of this? "A man with an unclean spirit, who had his dwelling among the tombs, no man could bind him, no, not with chains, because he had been often bound with fetters or shackles and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the shackles broken in pieces. Neither could any man tame him. Always, night and day he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying and cutting himself with stones, so he was a cutter. When he saw Jesus afar off, he ran to him and worshiped him from a long ways off".

Now, if any devil could stop Jesus, that would've been it, but he has no power over that. When he saw him, he ran towards him, and you know the devil is trying to say, don't do this, don't do this, but his own crying spirit ran to him. Why? Because Jesus had said something, "...cried with a loud voice and said, what have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, you torment me not. For Jesus had said unto him, come out of the man, you unclean spirit. And he asked, what is your name? He answered and saying, my name is Legion, for we are many". A legion is from 3,000 to 6,000 devils. Now, everybody there heard that. They heard that conversation. "Now, there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding, and all the devils besought him, saying, send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. So no one else heard that, but Jesus did. And forthwith, Jesus gave them leave, and the unclean spirits went out and entered into the hogs, and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea. There were about 2,000 of them, and they drowned".

That was food for the Roman army. Now, somebody's in trouble. Whew. My, my, my. "He gave them leave, and the unclean spirits went out, entered into the swine, and the herd, well, the 2,000 of them drowned. They that fed the swine fled and told it in the city and in the country, and they went out to see what was done. And when they came to Jesus and see him that was possessed with the devil and had the legion sitting and clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid, and they that saw it told them how it befell him that was possessed of the devil and concerning the swine, and they began to pray him," get out of here. Depart out of their coast. And when he was come to the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. "Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but said to him, Go home to your friends".

One translation said, go home to your family, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done to thee, and has had compassion on you. So here we are. Now, and I'm supposed to be healed today. I learned a long time ago that today is my receiving day. Today is my receiving day. Every day is my receiving day to receive from him. So now let's just keep, let's continue to follow him. And he departed and began to publish in Decapolis or the 10 cities area. And you can do your own study. When he was, he came in there after this man's preaching the love of God and had his new suits. Cause you know, he'd been a cutter. You know his skin and bones and he was naked and looked nasty and ugly, but didn't anymore. And you check it out and just follow it. Great multitudes came because of this man's preaching. We get to heaven. We're going to find out what their people's names are.

Anyway. So he departed over again by the ship unto another side. "Much people gathered unto him and he was nigh unto the sea. And behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name. And when he saw him, he fell at his feet and besought him greatly saying," besought him greatly saying. Now he spoke his faith right here. "My little daughter lies at the point of death. I pray thee come and lay your hands on her that she may be healed and she shall live". And that's the last thing he said. And he had a lot of opportunities to say something else, Jesus went with him. Now the Lord led him over there to deliver that man because that man was called to preach. He did that on purpose. He came here, Jairus fell at his feet. So he just went with him. Praise God.

"Jesus went with him and much people followed him and thronged him. A certain woman, which had an issue of blood 12 years and suffered many things of many physicians and had spent all that she had and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse. When she had heard of Jesus came in the press behind and touched his garment for she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway or immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague". She believed it before she felt it because she said it. And in the book of Luke, she just kept saying it.

And now notice, "And his disciples said to him, You see the multitude thronging you and sayest thou who touched me? He looked around about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her came and fell down before him and told him all the truth". That's how come we know it was for 12 years. So it doesn't say how long she talked. It just summed up her message. And Jairus is just standing there. Didn't say a thing. "Jesus said, Who touched my clothes. And he said unto her, Daughter..." Oh, he liked Jairus. I like that. "Your faith has made you whole. Go in peace and be whole". In other words, you keep it. Be whole of that plague. Praise God.

"While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogues, how certain which said your daughter's dead. Why trouble you the Master any further? As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he said..." He didn't give Jairus a chance. Jesus answered. So Jairus didn't have to. He interrupted. Be not afraid. "Only believe, only believe all things are possible. Your little daughter will rise. Only believe, only believe". And Luke said, "stop the fear. Only believe and she will be made whole. Stop the fear. Believe only and you'll be made whole". Now, many physicians, we know from Mark 11 that faith will not work in an unforgiving heart. When you stand praying, forgive if you have ought against any, that your Father in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

"And he suffered no man to follow him except Peter and James and John, the brother of James. And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue and seeth the tumult and them that wept and wailed greatly. And when he was coming, he said, Why make this ado and weep? And he said, the damsel is not dead, but sleeps". He's calling things that be not as though they were. They laughed him to scorn. Now, he put them all out. Well, you can see now why. In the first place, they were grieving and making tumult. They're screaming and hollering and crying. And then he said, she's asleep. That made them mad at him. No telling what they were saying. They laughed at him scornfully, but he got them out of there. Get all that unbelief and turmoil. Get the devil out of the house. Get the grieving spirit out of the house.

And he took the damsel by the hand. He did what Jairus said. "He took her by the hand Talitha Cumi, which is being interpreted, damsel, I say unto you, arise. And straightway the damsel rose and walked. For she was the age of 12 years, and they were astonished with a great astonishment". Hallelujah. "And he charged them straightly that no man should know it and commanded that she be given something to eat". What he did in one day. And in that sixth chapter, "Is not this, the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James and Joseph, of Judah and Simon. And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk and healed them, or people with minor ailments. And he marveled because of their unbelief. And he went around about the villages teaching". Now, teaching is the cure for unbelief.
