Joseph Prince - Moving By Grace In The Holy Spirit's Gifts

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord. There's gonna be miracles, signs, wonders, the flow of God's Spirit. I'll tell you right now, already the Lord is showing some things to me even now, and I want to tell you right now that this kind of flow is gonna happen throughout the sessions, okay, so just be ready, just be ready. Now, I don't want to be the center, and what the Lord showed me is not Pastor Prince being the center, okay, of what's happening. Jesus will be the center, all right? You know, when the Bible says, think about it, "Where two or three are gathered together in my name", you know, he did not say where two or three meet.

Many people, many Christians are meeting, but they're not gathered. When you say gathered, you are gathered to something or someone. You understand the difference? He didn't say where two or three meet, he says, where two or three are gathered. Gathered is for Jesus. We are not gathered to a man, we are not gathered to a name, we are gathered to Jesus Christ and to his name. The Bible says the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man. The word man there, ladies, is in italics. Encouragement? All right, it's not in the original. In other words, the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every person, male or female, to profit withal. So, it's not just for pastors and for the Pastor Henrys and the Pastor Princes, you know, no, no, no. It's for everybody, all right?

So, you are asking me the question, "Pastor Prince, I do not know how to move". That's the reason we have the camp. "Pastor Prince, I don't feel worthy to be used by God". Are you in New Creation Church? You know what God calls these gifts? Charisma, write down charisma, the definition by Thayer. I want to give you Thayer's definition, so it's not from me, okay? "Now charisma is favor which one receives without any merit of his own. Favor which one receives without any merit of his own".

Now, do you know the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit are called gifts, charisma, which means what? All the gifts of the Holy Spirit are what? Favor which one receives without any merit of his or her own. So, when it happens, you cannot take glory for it. You cannot take credit because it's no merit of your own. If you pray for somebody, all right, and they get healed, do you take credit? I'll ask you again. If you pray for somebody and God heals them, do you take credit? Then why do you take the failure when they don't get healed? Why do you take the pain, amen?

So, you know the very fact that we say how come this man of God, you know, move in such supernatural gifts and genuine miracles happen, authenticated miracles, yet we find him he has a problem with drinking. He has a problem with immorality. Why is that so? The very fact they're asking this question, even ministers ask this question, tells you what? They don't understand it's a charisma. So, you know something, church? I think we are paving the way for a grace-based manifestation of the supernatural, a grace-based manifestation of the miracles, grace-based manifestation. And then people realize, "My goodness, it's so easy". All right, and more people will, you know what? Qualify themselves, amen? More people will realize their disqualification is a qualification, amen?

Turn with me now to 1 Corinthians 12. We'll be using these passages because these are the passages that God gave me. "Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led". Look at the word dumb idols. Underline that in your Bible, "Dumb idols". You know what's dumb idols, not stupid. Okay, what's dumb? Dumb is silent, okay? That's it. Dumb idols are silent. They don't talk. That means what? Our God talks through the gifts, all right?

So, the gentiles were worshiping idols, amen, and idols cannot talk, but our God talks. We must allow him to talk through the gifts. And that's why the first two gifts mentioned in this order in 1 Corinthians 12 is the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge. Notice word of wisdom, word of knowledge. What does that mean? God talks. God talks. Okay, now notice "Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit".

All right, church, no one can say Jesus is accursed, all right, if he's operating by the Holy Spirit. Now, obviously, many a times people don't say Jesus is accursed, all right? You don't hear that. But what it's trying to say is this, the word accursed can refer to the word curse, yes. But also it means lightly esteemed, not giving weight to it. All right, whenever the gifts operate, if someone is operating by the gift, whether it's by vocal or gifts of healings or whatever, it is always glorifying Jesus, all right, it always makes Jesus Lord. Okay, amen? If you know that the manifestation makes Jesus Lord, it is the Holy Spirit.

Verse 4, "There are diversities of gifts, but the same Holy Spirit". Diversities of charismata. Diversity. What does that mean? All kinds of gifts of the Holy Spirit, but the same Spirit. "There are differences of ministries, but the same Jesus, same Lord. There are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all". So, you have the Holy Spirit. You have Jesus, you have God, the Father, amen? He's the triune God. So, the triune God is involved whenever the gifts are flowing. Okay, we're gonna start with the gifts now. Are you ready?

All right, next verse, "But the manifestation of the Spirit", there it is, the manifestation. Manifest means what? Something that is hidden is now on the surface. Something that is not seen is now visible, amen? It's called manifestation. All of us want a manifestation of our miracle. We want a manifestation of our prayers being answered. Some of you are waiting for the manifestation. So, the Holy Spirit, when he moves, is the manifestation. And notice why does the Holy Spirit manifest? "It's given to each one for the profit of all".

Isn't that wonderful? How many like the word profit? How many get fits over profits? How many get fits over benefits, amen? How many know worship leader called Bob Fitts, amen? Forget not all his benefits. And church, you know these gifts is for your profit. It's for your neighbor's profit. The word there for the profit of all actually is one word. All right, it's the word mutual profit, all right, or something like that in the Greek. Just one word, sum means together. It's one word which means mutual profit. When the gifts flow, it's for the mutual profit of everyone, okay? Everyone is profited.

Just now when people received healing up here, did you get the profit? Did you get a blessing. Does it inspire faith in you, amen? So, not only they get blessed. You get blessed, amen? Aren't you glad that God is moving in our midst, amen? So, here it says, "The manifestation of the Spirit is given for the profit". Always remember, God says in Isaiah, "I am the Lord God who teacheth you to profit". God wants you to profit. He wants you to profit in your relationships with your children. He wants you to profit in your career, in your ministry. He wants you to profit in your serving in the church. In every area, he wants you to profit.

And one verse in Timothy says that, meditate upon these things. Give yourself fully to them so that your profiting may appear to all. See, God is always for you to profit. And people will see the profit of God in your life. They will see you profiting, amen? Don't always think in terms of money. Profit is many, many areas, but it's always for your profit. Praise God. Now the list of the gifts coming here. Are you ready? All right, "For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit". Stop here.

I read this not too long ago early this year, I shared the pastors this. And I realized that, you know, when we teach the gifts. We teach it in a way that's easier for people to understand. You can just write this down, all right, three gifts that say something, all right, vocal gifts. Write this down, tongues the first one. Interpretation of tongues, prophecy. Three gifts. By the way, nine gifts, okay? Nine gifts mentioned in this chapter. The first one is what? Tongues, interpretation of tongues and prophecy.

Now, this is the way we teach so that people understand, okay? Man's orders, so to speak, to help us understand. Okay, gifts that says something. Vocal gifts, tongues is the first you receive from the Lord, all right? And tongues is the only gifts that you can use anytime you want. The others, as the Spirit wills. We'll see that in a while's time. All right, tongues is the only gift that operates as you will like on the day of Pentecost, okay? Y'all know the Jewish menorah? There is a seven-branch candelabra, and there's a nine-branch candelabra, four here, four here. That's the Hanukkah. And the center one is removable. I've illustrated before, all right? The center one you take, all right, and you light up all the rest.

So, when you pray in tongues a lot, you fire up the gifts of the Holy Spirit in your life, okay? So, tongues, interpretation of tongues and prophecy. Tongues, interpretation of tongues, and prophecy. The second one, all right, is the knowing gifts, knowing gifts, gifts of knowledge. Word of wisdom, word of knowledge and discerning of spirits. Word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discerning of spirits. Just now it was the word of knowledge and also gifts of healings. All right, word of wisdom, word of discerning of spirits. Knowing something, knowledge gifts. So, saying something, knowing something, and now we have doing something. Power gifts we call them. Power gifts, and they're also three. So, we have the gifts of healings.

Now, write this carefully, okay? It's actually literally in the Greek plural, both are plural. Gifts of healings, plural. Both are plural. Gifts of healings, very interesting. I hope I have time to develop that, okay? So, we have gifts of healings, working of miracles, the gift of faith. I can put the gift of faith first. Gift of faith, gifts of healings, working of miracles. All these gifts, by the way, is not something that you keep. In other words, "Oh, I have the word of knowledge. It's mine to keep". No, it comes, it manifests, and then it goes. And sometimes another gift will come and then it goes. You know why? Because it says to each is given.

The word given there in the Greek is the presence tense. If it's in aorist tense, that means it's given for you to keep, all right, but it's not. It is given for you to use now. Doesn't mean tomorrow you have the gift. You know some people go around saying, "I have the word of knowledge. You know, I am a man with the word of knowledge". No, no, no, don't worry about that, okay? You can feel free eating with me and all that. I won't have any words. You know, I'm a normal person. So, the word given there, all right, to each is given. Verse 8, "For to one is given the word of wisdom". What is a word of wisdom? A word of wisdom is just a word, a word from God.

Notice all these are words, not words, not paragraphs of knowledge, all right? It's a word of knowledge. Somewhere here has this condition, whatever. All right, a word of wisdom is actually very much used in problem solving. Wisdom is used in problem solving. All right, you do not know how to do something, all of a sudden, when the manifestation of the word of wisdom happens, you see how to resolve it. You see a problem in church and all of a sudden, God gives a word of wisdom. It can happen through anointed preaching. It can happen through a dream. It can happen through a vision. It can happen through prophecy. You can hear a prophecy and have a word of wisdom.

Usually word of wisdom is about the future and inside a word about the future. And usually word of knowledge is about present, present, present facts, present situation. Are you with me? Look at this, the next verse. Look at the verse again, "For to one is given first and foremost", what? The word of wisdom. Talk to me, people. The first one is the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, then faith, then gifts of healings. The word of wisdom comes first. Then the word of knowledge. Whenever you hear, notice word, word, word, word from God, word from God, word from God, word of the future, word of the present. Whenever God's word comes, what comes in your heart? When God's word comes, what springs in your heart? Faith. What's the next one? Faith.

Hey, hey, you see that? And then when faith comes, what happens? This is the secret of Jesus's ministry, he always went about what? Teaching, preaching, healing. Very good. You'll find it in Matthew. You'll find it in Mark. Jesus went about the villages, went about Galilee, teaching, preaching, healing. The more often the revelation gives manifest, it becomes an office. And so for that, let's drop down to verse 28. "And God has appointed these in the church". Who appoints them? God. One more time. Who appoints them? God. God ordains what first? Apostles. All the letters in your New Testament were written by apostles.

Do we have apostle today? Apostle comes from the word sent, send. The person who send. You're not send... you don't go, all right? You're not sent until someone sends you, right? Or else you're going. In other words, an apostle is someone with a message, okay? An apostle is someone with a message. He's sent with a message. You follow what I'm saying? An apostle. All right, that's an apostle. Whether the message is a message for the local body or for local bodies or for the entire body of Christ is a sent one. Many people go and have name cards that say apostles, prophets, and all that. All right, but you gotta be sent by God.

Number two, prophets. The Bible says that our faith is built on the foundation of apostles and prophets. That's in Corinthians. So, second is prophets.

Third, teachers. Third, teachers. After that, miracles. Notice the miracles come after teaching. I said miracles come after teaching. Some people just want to come for miracles, they want prayer, but they don't want to hear the teaching. You cannot have it that way. Jesus went about preaching and teaching and healing.

Healing comes after preaching and teaching. So, third, teachers. After that, notice after that, after that, after that teaching, miracles. Then gifts of healings. God appointed all these, you know?

Ministry of helps. Service, you have a ministry from God. God appointed this. You know what's your ministry service? Helps. Helps is just as supernatural as prophets, as apostles, as teachers, helps. Notice gifts of healings here is also a ministry. It's not just a gift, it's also ministry. So, there are people who are more prone to move in the gifts of healings. They have a ministry of, most likely Pastor Henry may have that ministry, okay? Because why? He loves to study on this. You know, he has an interest in healing. He likes to pray for the sick, and then there must be confirmation like a track record, okay? So, gifts of healings is not just one of the gifts. Here it's a ministry, all right?

Then administrations, or our Old King James says governments, governance, administration. Think about it, management, administration is just as supernatural as prophets, okay? Varieties of tongues. Now, these are people who have not just devotional tongue. We call it tongues for everyone, every believer but they have a ministry of tongues. Now, a ministry of tongues not everybody have. I repeat. Ministry of tongues, varieties of tongue, not everybody have. There are people, different places they go, they speak in tongues and then they interpret. They speak in tongues, you know, and then people understand them. Different languages all over the world, people understand them. I have seen people like this.

Okay, people understand. They speak in perfect French, and they're not French. They speak in perfect Hebrew and they're not, you know, Jewish. So, these are gifts of tongues. They are not like the tongues that you and I have. That is for the believer's tongue. Believer's tongue is not these tongues. These tongues here is in the area of ministries. Some people have stronger propensity to always speak in tongues out in the church and we want to encourage that, all right, in environments like this you speak in tongues and then someone has the gift of interpretation. It means the tongues was a message from God. Are you with me, all right?

So, varieties of tongues. Next verse, that's why it explains. Are all apostles? Answer, no. Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Do all have gifts of healings? All right, this is not referring to... you can have the gift of healing once in a while. It's referring to what? Ministries, okay, the context. Do all speak with tongues? The context is what? Ministry of tongues. By the way, this is what denomination take out. They take this verse out of context, and then they say, "Do all speak with tongues"? You know and you must always show them the context here is not referring to what? Why don't they say, "Do all have gifts of healing? Are all teachers? Are all prophets", right? It's obvious that it's a ministry of tongues, understand?

Okay, do all interpret? No. "But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way". Let me just say this, it ends with "I show you a more excellent way", not a more excellent gift. It's not telling you, all right, these gifts are all okay but not very important. I'm gonna show you more, and it's love. Love is the more excellent gift. No, no, no, I show you a more excellent way, way of manifesting gifts. Have you met people who manifest the gifts in a very uncouth way? Very boastful way? Very arrogant way? Then there are those that manifest the gifts and they make you feel like God loves you. They make you feel the grace and the mercy and the love of God. That's the way that God wants us to do it.
