Joseph Prince — Learn to See What God Sees
Thank you for taking time to be here tonight. I am humbled. I'm truly humbled. You know, it's all about Jesus, amen? You know, when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the donkey, the people shouted. They threw leaves, you know, palm trees and all that, leaves on the ground and they were worshiping Hosanna to the son of David. But that donkey better know it's all about Jesus. The law was given by Moses, but? But grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Truth is on the side of grace.
When Jesus looked at the Jewish people of his day he said, "You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." But what does that verse mean? What did Jesus mean when he told the Jews, "You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free"?
Don't forget these Jewish people of his day, they are steep in the law. At the age of 5, they know the Torah by heart. At the age of 10, they have learned the oral law. So, these are people who knew the law. So, obviously the truth that will set them free is not the law.
They already had it and yet they were in bondage. They were in destructive habits. They were bound by sin. They were depressed. They were fearful and Jesus said, "You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." So, what is the truth that will set you free? Grace is the truth Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Law demands, grace supplies, amen.
