Joseph Prince - Follow the Anointing Within (01/21/2026)
The preacher emphasizes the immense power of spoken words in faith, urging believers to actively speak to their problems, diseases, and spiritual oppressions in Jesus' name rather than merely praying about them to God. Drawing from Jesus' teaching on faith in Mark 11, where speaking to the mountain or the fig tree brings results, and from the upper room discourse, he stresses that words release miracles and healing. The conclusion is that by having "the faith of God"—calling things that are not as though they were—and persistently speaking life, health, and victory, believers will see manifestation from the roots.
The Power of Your Words
The words you speak, the testimony you share—you don't realize how powerful it is. The devil wants to shut your mouth. Remember when Mary was pregnant? She had just received news from the angel Gabriel that she was conceiving the Holy One of God, and she went to visit her cousin Elizabeth. Elizabeth, who was now about six months pregnant at that moment, heard the greeting of Mary and said that the babe leaped or the baby kicked at the sound of her greeting.
Your Mouth Holds Someone's Miracle
That's what she said: at the sound of your greeting, the babe in my womb leaped. “Blessed is the mother of my Lord who came to me.” She said, “At the sound of your greeting, it leaped.” Your mouth holds someone's miracle. Sometimes when you speak to someone and you are encouraging them, you can cause that dormant dream that God gave them or that lost vision they once had to leap to life inside them. But if you don't speak out, nothing will happen. Amen.
Speaking in Prayer for Healing
Even when praying for healing, if you don't speak out for someone, you don't pray for someone—nothing will happen. You're listening? Amen. Jesus said in the upper room: “If you ask—or like I said last week—that word there, if you demand anything to be done in my name, I will do it.” Amen. And that includes this kind of prayer, includes this commanding prayer, includes all that Jesus paid for us at the cross.
What You Can and Cannot Command
You cannot demand someone else's job. You cannot demand someone else's spouse. Nope. That won't work. It will not work in areas of immorality. But you know that Jesus paid for you to have health because He bore your diseases on the cross. Now you can command pain in your body to get out.
Speaking Directly to the Condition
So one of the things you can do if you have not received your healing in any area is to speak to it day by day. If you have a tumor in your body, say to the tumor—talk to the tumor—say, “Tumor, I curse you to your roots. In the name of the Lord Jesus, be thou plucked up and be thou thrown into the sea.” Amen. Tell the tumor, “Get out of my body in the name of Jesus.”
Persistence in Speaking
What if it doesn't happen, Pastor? Keep on talking to it. Keep on talking. When Jesus spoke to the fig tree as an object lesson of faith, He said, “No one eat fruit from you hereafter forever.” So Jesus spoke to fig trees. It's okay. The most sane, sound, perfect man spoke to trees, and the tree died. “No man eat fruit from you hereafter forever.” Amen. And the tree died.
The Fig Tree Lesson
Now watch this. Actually, the tree had not yet died when He spoke, because the Bible tells us they went into the temple, and that's when Jesus cleansed all the money changers and all that. And then He passed by to stay in Bethany. He must have passed by the fig tree. Nothing was mentioned by the disciples.
The Tree Dried from the Roots
The next day, on the way back from Bethany—where probably He stayed in Lazarus' house with the disciples—He came back by the same place, and the Bible says this in Mark's account: “And in the morning,” which means one day has passed. “And in the morning Peter saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.” And Peter, calling to remembrance, said to the Lord, “Master, the fig tree that You cursed is withered away.”
Have the Faith of God
And Jesus said this. Now in the original Greek, literally He says, “Have the faith of God.” Your King James says, “Have faith in God.” That is very important—to have faith in God. But over here He's saying, “Have the faith of God.”
God Calls Things That Are Not
When God saw darkness, God didn't say, “Wow, it's so dark—you become darker.” God called out what He wanted. Romans chapter four says, like Abraham, he copied God. God calls those things that are not physically yet, not visible yet—God calls those things that are not as though they were visibly. That's God's character. That's God's way.
Speaking to Conditions Daily
God looked at a man who was trembling, who was hiding from his enemies—a man called Gideon. And God said to him, “Hail, valiant man, you courageous man, you brave man,” when he was trembling. So God doesn't see you in the flesh. He calls you what He sees you already in the spirit. You can have a good amen.
So every day speak to that condition. Amen. Stop practicing on your pimples. Say, “Pimple, die in Jesus' name,” and see if it happens or not. I've been doing that for years, and now I'm still doing it for certain parts of my body. Amen.
Addressing Evil Spirits
Let's be Christians that speak to the condition. If you think evil spirits are involved, especially don't talk to God about them—speak to them. Amen. You wake up and you realize you had a very bad dream, and a horrible dream is worse than a horror movie, and it's oppressing you, or you feel oppression at night pressing on you.
Speak to it. Say in the name of Jesus, say like this: “You foul spirit doing whatever—okay, doing this oppression on me or oppressing my child—in the name of Jesus, loose her and let her go.” In the name of Jesus, or “loose me and let me go.” In the name of Jesus.
Commanding Spirits to Leave
Are you listening, people? Yeah. Don't just sit down there and tolerate that nonsense. There are powers of darkness. Your grandma says, “Oh, I'm pasting all these things because when the wind comes, there's a certain kind of wind, I feel rheumatism and all that.” Well, evil spirits manifest like wind. The Holy Spirit also many times manifests as wind.
The word “ruach” in Hebrew is wind; it's the same word for Holy Spirit. Also, if you say “ruach” is evil spirit, it's the word for wind. No, it's not a wind. It's an evil spirit. So grab your grandma's hand and say, “In the name of Jesus, you foul spirit causing pain in her bones, in her arm—loose her and let her go. In the name of the Lord Jesus.” Amen. Amen.
Speaking Life to Others
Praise the Lord. I look forward to seeing a bunch of people praying for each other. Amen. Praying for your family. And like I said just now about an autistic child and all that—speak, speak that life and restoration every day to the brain in the name of Jesus. Amen. Or Parkinson.
The Power of Life and Death in the Tongue
If you're a forgetful type, don't use your mouth against yourself. The Bible says the power of life and death is in your tongue—not your uncle's tongue, your auntie's tongue. No, it's important, church, what people say about you, but what you say about yourself.
Speaking to the Mountain
See what Jesus said when Peter says, “Look, Master, the fig tree You cursed.” But He cursed it yesterday, right? Yesterday morning, probably on the way to the temple, but it didn't manifest immediately. But He cursed it already. In other words, it started happening at the roots. So when you speak against it in the name of Jesus, Jesus says, “I'll do it.” It starts at the roots, and you want your healing to be from the very roots.
No point cutting off the branches—the symptoms. The symptoms cut off, you're happy. The symptom is gone, but the root is still there, right? All that Jesus said about that: Jesus says, “Have the faith of God.”
Whosoever Shall Say
Now listen: “For truly I say to you, whosoever shall—” I want you to count the number of times He says the word “say.” With me, are you ready? “Whosoever shall say unto this mountain—” You see, don't talk to God. God is not your mountain.
There are times you pray, you talk to God. Yes. When it comes to your problem, God is not your problem. That mountain is your problem. So mountain can represent any condition—a disease, whatever. In this case it was a fig tree, right?
Believe and Speak
“And just speak to the mountain. Whosoever shall say to the mountain, ‘Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea,’ and shall not doubt in his heart—” there's a complete one—“but shall believe in their heart.” In your heart believe—how many times? One time.
“He shall have whatsoever—” how many times “say”? Okay, let me quote that again. “Whosoever shall say to this mountain, ‘Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea,’ and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe—” one time—“shall believe that those things which he saith—” second time “say”—“he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
You Shall Have What You Say
We emphasize belief so much: “Oh, because I don't have enough faith, I don't have enough faith.” But Jesus emphasized talking. Belief only one time, because what you say can affect your belief.
I'm always like that when I'm always forgetful. “Oh, I'm getting old”—that kind of thing. “Oh, I have no energy.” Jesus, don't realize you're talking against yourself. Amen.
Avoid Negative Confessions
And honestly, I don't like these expressions—with all due respect—“ong lao wine must be lao.” Alright, that's Chinese for old husband, old wife—literally. Even in the Western world they'll say, “That's my old man.” No, don't. Don't speak what you don't want to have.
You see, but I want to have good things, Pastor. But what are you saying? Jesus didn't say you'll have what you want. He says you'll have what you say. “He shall have whatsoever he saith,” right—good or bad.
Speak Faith-Filled Words
There's a whole new generation who knows not this kind of teaching. Are you listening, people? He did not say you have what you desire. He says, “He shall have whatsoever he saith.”
“I'm the righteousness of God in Christ.” Amen. “My family is blessed.” When you read the news and they say that bad times are happening all over the world and financial inflation, whatever coming—not enough, not enough. The message is always not enough in the future.
All that, you say, “My God supplies my needs according to His riches in glory—not according to the circumstances or the financial strength of your country, whichever country you are from, but according to His riches in glory.” Amen.
I Shall Not Lack
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not lack.” And He leaves it like this. He didn't define lack—what? So that you can fill in the blank. Lack whatever you want. Wisdom—you'll not lack for wisdom. Amen.
Praise the Lord. That's it. It's a great lesson. Can go home, ready? Amen.
Speaking Positively in Correction
So Pastor, if I need to say something negative so that my wife understands—alright, how do I say it then? It doesn't mean you can say anything negative. You can, but David—he'll say, he'll complain to God: “I have these things going on, Lord, these things happening.”
The best person to speak negative or complain about is to the Lord, not to people. Now, I use the word “complain”—I'm not referring to what the children of Israel did in the wilderness, complain to Moses—but you just pour your heart to the Lord. That's what I mean.
Pour Your Heart to God
And then there's a “selah” in the book of Psalms, right? “Selah”—the word doesn't mean “selah,” it means he's talking to God his problems. And then you know what? There's a pause. There's a pause, and then he's listening to God's response to him.
And then he says, “But Thou, O Lord, art my shield; You are my glory and the lifter of my head.” You can see the response really affecting him, right? Can I have a good amen?
Call Things That Are Not
So you need to say something, but you can always say, “But the Lord will supply our needs.” You can tell your wife, your spouse something—you hit something—and then you say, “But you have the mind of Christ. I expect greater things.”
A bad report card—look at him and say, “You know what? You have the mind of Christ. I refuse to accept this as your final definition of your educational standard. No, I believe you are smarter than this.”
That's the best way to correct children, actually—to make them feel they're smarter than they really are. Amen. You don't call those things that are as though they are. You call those things that are not as though they are. They always are.
The Bible says call those things that are not as though they are. And that is like God. That's not lying. That's like God. God sees things before it happens. So God calls into the future right now, and it happens now. Amen.
Abundant Supply in Heaven
Happens in the realm of time. When I say “now,” the manifestation can be next week, it can be next month, or immediately—but now is in this realm of time. But God sees things in the spirit, and He calls it forth.
You see, when I pray for you, I see the supply in heaven abundant. There are limbs there, there are brains there. Amen. You don't like your brain? You can ask for a new brain. I believe that. I believe I see arms or legs and all that for people who want a new leg. I see brand new kneecaps, knee bones, and all its structures ready for the taking. Yes.
And that's what God said: nothing is lacking in heaven. Everything that you need is according to His riches in glory. Amen. Praise the Lord.
Upper Room Prayer Teaching
Okay. Alright. The sermon has started. You all know that, right? This is upper room teaching. So the prayer He says: “If you demand anything in my name, I will do it.” It's different from the other prayer in the upper room.
He taught them, “Up till now you have asked nothing in My name. Whoever shall ask the Father—whatever you ask the Father now, you're asking the Father in My name—He will give it to you.” Not “I will do it,” Jesus, but the Father will give it to you.
The Sevenfold Spirit
So these are things that you're not sure—things, areas like you're asking God for wisdom: which school to study in, or which career to embark on, or “What shall I do today? Shall I go here or go there?” That kind of thing. That prayer covers that.
Prayer that covers everything that's got to do with the finished work. But you're not sure about those aspects—how to go out from here to there. Asking God for wisdom is a good example. Amen.
You can just say, “In Jesus' name, I command wisdom into my brain.” It's a prayer like the Apostle Paul prayed, and I think I'll show you that. You ready? Okay. Look up the scriptures. Isaiah 11.
The Spirit Upon Jesus
Isaiah 11 talks about our Lord Jesus. Praise the Lord. Thank God we're doing good on time. Okay, but I'll let you go on time. Don't worry. If only time is normal. If you're so good, so good. Amen.
Just like when you're in love, you wish time would stand still. You spend two hours dating—it's like, wow, five minutes before you know it. Goodbye, goodbye. I walk my distance away from the MRT. Say bye-bye, bye-bye—different tones, man.
You are still in love, right? With your spouse after all these years, you say, “Bye-bye, baby.” The baby still there, darling. Still there. Or just bye. Amen, bro.
Make love with your words. Learn to make love with your words, not just your body. Preach like you, Pastor Prince.
“There shall come forth a rod or a shoot, a root from the stem of Jesse.” Jesse, you know, right? Is the father of David. From David came the Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ.
“And a branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.” Wow. Praise God.
Sevenfold Manifestation of the Spirit
Look at how the Holy Spirit is depicted here—sevenfold Spirit of God. Now in the book of Revelation chapter one, you have seven spirits of God. In the King James it says seven spirits of God before His throne.
Now, I don't even think that there are seven Holy Spirits. No. Alright. I believe this is an expression of the sevenfold, and Bible interprets Bible. We have this scripture here in Isaiah 11 that tells us the Spirit of the Lord manifests in a sevenfold way.
Spirit of Wisdom and Might
Okay. First of all, you have the Spirit of the Lord. The Spirit of the Lord—YHWH—His name shall rest upon Jesus. The Spirit of wisdom and understanding—so you have two and three already, right? Wisdom and understanding.
The Spirit of counsel and might. And then the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. Amen. See, many of us we settle with, “Okay, I'm baptized in the Holy Spirit. I pray in tongues. That's it. There's nothing much for me anymore.”
No, God has a lot more. So when the Bible says you're full of the Holy Spirit, I believe it refers to this. And also for those of you—some of you, you are in places where you need the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to flow.
Abiding in Christ
Some of you, you're in areas whereby your work is more physical, and you can get more tired or whatever it is, whereas here people use their head and all that. They need more wisdom, and God knows that.
So do you know that this wisdom is manifested by the Holy Spirit, and this might is manifested by the Holy Spirit? We know that we have an example of the Spirit of might coming on Samson.
See what happened. An ordinary man became an extraordinary man. By the way, I don't believe for one moment that Samson was strong like a man who pumps iron and biceps everywhere and 12-packs. I don't believe that.
The Vine and the Branches
And then on the pack there's a pack. Amen. I don't believe that at all. I believe he was probably a skinny person with long hair. So when he does things like tearing a lion apart when the lion came against him, when he unhinged the very heavy doors of the gate of the city—anyone looking will say, “This is God. God is coming on him.”
If you see someone strong doing that kind of thing, you probably won't think so. All the movies and all that—I don't believe it's accurate—because God says, “My strength is made perfect in weakness” so that God will get the glory.
We Are One with Christ
When Gideon's army was too big, God says, “No, no, I cannot give you the victory against your enemies with this kind of numbers, right? You are too big. Probably you'll vaunt yourself after the victory. You'll be proud. You'll think that it is you and not Me.”
So God reduced the army to 300 against tens of thousands of the enemies so that everyone knows when Gideon has the victory with 300, it is God. Amen. Amen.
Like a former student—not in primary school, not in kindergarten, but in secondary school—it's now preaching to you. Amen. This is the grace of God. And if God can do this for me, God can do this for you as well. Praise God.
Prayers for Wisdom and Might
It's nothing. No one can boast in their own strength, in their own ability. One of the reasons why people don't like to depend or be filled with the Holy Spirit is that they say, “I don't need the Holy Spirit. I can do it myself.”
Jesus says what? “Abide in Me and I in you.” Show them the verse—teaching in the upper room. I want to read you the entire thing, okay? Just for a while, and we will go back to the sevenfold Spirit of God.
“You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.” Like I said before, when He washed the disciples' feet, it's a picture of we are really saved. You don't have to bathe all over—the bath of regeneration. You don't have to. You're born again.
You don't have to be bathed all over again, okay? You are forgiven of all your sins once and for all. Amen. Now what you need is that your feet—your daily walk—get contaminated. You go out there in the world, you hear things that you shouldn't be hearing.
You see things that you shouldn't be seeing, and you experience defilement. You feel dirty, you feel unclean—you can't help it. People say things around you that are profane, and you feel unclean.
How do you get rid of that? Jesus says by the washing of the water of the word. Amen. So right in the upper room He demonstrated that. Remember our first teaching on the upper room?
And then here He says, “Now you are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.” So practically, what does that mean—to wash our feet? I told you it's a spiritual meaning. Else Jesus would not have said to His disciples, “What I do now you do not understand, but you will know later.”
If it's physical feet washing, they know. So it's a spiritual thing. It is Jesus every day washing us with the washing of water by the word. Amen. So right now, as I speak to you, you are being washed by the water of the word.
You are being washed by the water of the word. Do you know that all the defilements of the past week are being washed? That's why you don't come to church for one week—like Thomas. Jesus appeared on Sunday, and Thomas wasn't there, right?
The next Sunday when Jesus appeared, he became an unbelieving believer, right? By then the whole week the disciples were telling him, “We saw Him in person.” “I will not believe unless I put my finger into His nail prints, unless I put my hand into His side.”
And Jesus appeared and says, “Be not any more faithless, Thomas. Come, put your fingers here.” What did Thomas say? “My Lord and my God.” Now if Jesus is not God, He will not receive that from Thomas. Okay? He's Lord and God. Praise God.
Okay. He says, “Abide in Me”—this upper room teaching. By the way, listen, this is the upper room teaching: “Abide in Me and I in you.” First time ever Jesus taught this in the upper room to tell us the oneness that He has with us.
Do you know that the vine has no trunk? It is all made—the vine grapes, right, come from vine, right? Actually it's based—it grows on. It is like what you call a climbing vine. The word “climbing vine.”
Because what they do, they go around a stick or what you call trellis, and the trellis is shaped like a cross. It's like a cross, and the vine grows around it. And a cluster of vines is called vine, but it's made of individual branches. Are you listening?
People think that Jesus said, “I am the vine—I am the trunk—and then all the branches, you are the branches.” No, no—don't think of a tree and the branches. Think of vine. Vine has to climb.
So they put trellis, and then the vine climbs. So He says this: “Abide in Me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine. You are the branches. I am the vine. You are the branches. I am the vine. You are the branches.”
So what does that mean? “I'm the trunk”? No—all of you together, I am all of you. I should tell you: I am all of you together. That's the church. The church is called the body of Christ.
Or Pastor, this spiritual truth is amazing. But if you have eyes to see, He's even referring to—we are members. Paul says this in the New Testament, not Old Testament: that we are members of His body—listen—of His flesh and of His bones.
I want to announce to you that His flesh and bones are very healthy. So the more you identify yourself with Him, the more health, wholeness is yours. In this side of life, in this part of our eternal life, we have everlasting life.
Death for us is just an incident. If it happens, we are looking forward to the rapture. Amen. So He's saying all of you together makes up Me. He chose to put Himself as—from now on—identify with all of us.
Do y'all remember when Saul, who later on became the Apostle Paul—probably the greatest apostle of all, right?—he actually was persecuting the Christians. He went all the way to Syria, in the city of Damascus, the oldest city in the world.
And there on the way there he fell off—literally he fell off his high horse. Probably that's where that saying came from: he fell off his high horse. And he was blinded for three days.
And then a man called Ananias, a believer, came and prayed for him, and he saw. And the man's name Ananias means the grace of God. And the first thing Paul—this legalistic Paul, Pharisee of Pharisees—the first thing he saw was grace. Grace opened his eyes. You can say that amen.
But do you remember that when he fell off his high horse and Jesus' glory just shone—the Bible says brighter than the sun? Can you try to imagine brighter? Can you look at the sun for how long? Can you look at the sun? You cannot.
And this glory is brighter than the sun. No wonder he was blinded for three days. And he said this: “Who are You, Lord?” He knew it was the Lord. And the Lord says, “I am Jesus.”
Watch this. How did Jesus introduce Himself? “I am Jesus, the all-glorious One”? No. “I am Jesus whom you persecute”—whom you are persecuting, present tense. “Whom you are persecuting. Whom you are persecuting.”
“I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.” Wow. But Jesus in heaven—His body, when He rose from the dead, He ascended back bodily. And one day He'll come back for us bodily, right? But He's in heaven.
How can Jesus say, “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting”? Why? When you hurt His body, you hurt Him. Hey, listen: when I bless you, I'm blessing Him. I can say, “Bless the Lord, O my soul,” but He prefers for me—He says when you give a cup of cold water to someone else who's a believer, just a cup of cold water, you'll not lose your reward.
You do a kind thing for someone. He says, “When did we see You naked and clothe You? You clothed the one who was naked—the poor. You give them clothes.” Amen. “You visit those who are imprisoned”—things like that.
And these are people that are believers. The context there is more for the nation of Israel—believers among them. But the principle remains the same. He's saying whatever you do to them—the least that you do to them—you do it to Me. It will not be forgotten.
We are one. See the blood circulation in your body travels all over. And if one part hurts, every part hurts. When you have a headache, you feel like sleeping, lying down if you can. Why? It hurts every part, but every part is not suffering that pain as your head.
But it all endures the agony. So let's not be jealous of one another. Amen. And I'm referring not just to our local church here—because this is where the expression of life is for every church. It expresses itself in the local church—but also internationally.
The Church of Christ here in Singapore as well as all over the world—let us not be jealous of one another. Let us pray for one another, because one person's honor is everyone's honor; one person's shame—you cannot say, “Oh, that person or that church—that can happen.”
We all feel the pain. We all get the brunt of it. Okay. Be praying for the church as a whole. The church today—and now I'm speaking prophetically—the church today is under persecution because the devil senses something happening.
God is doing something. And I believe that the glory of the Lord that will manifest in these last days upon the church—and I say upon the church—the glorious manifesting will be seen in the church.
And what's going to happen—Isaiah is going to happen. It's going to happen at a time of darkness. This cannot happen after the rapture. It cannot happen in the millennial rule because Jesus will be here. There's no darkness, let alone intense darkness, dense darkness.
So the Bible says during a time of dense darkness, people will come—and it says VIPs, kings, queens. Even the wealth of the Gentiles, the Bible says, will come. And your sons and daughters—salvation like no other—will come from afar.
When the glory of the Lord—it all hinges on the very first verse: “Arise, shine; for the glory of the Lord is upon you.” When darkness covers the earth and gross darkness the people, the glory of the Lord will shine upon you.
I'm telling you, it's happening, and I feel like we are entering into it. It must happen before the rapture. And already I told you in my dream I had that Jesus came back. That's like a sign of the Savior coming back, right?
And the last part—the last steps—were very fast that I had to say, “Stop the video” in my dream. And the Lord said to me, “I'm coming back quickly.” The word there—suddenly. Amen. It can be used for time or suddenly.
When it happens—wow, I feel so good. I feel good. I feel good. I feel like, wow, I'm so alive. And I look at you: “Whoa, is that you, Pastor Henry? You look so young. Hey, all black glasses gone. What happened?”
He says, “Take a look at you, Pastor Prince—your face has improved.” Amen. All of us—we all look like Mr. Universe and Miss Universe. I don't care if it's kosher or not kosher today. That's what I mean. It's going to happen. Amen.
If anything, what the devil is doing just confirms Scripture. Amen. “I am the vine. You are the branches.” Love it. So these say—try to be a branch? No, He did not. He says, “You are.”
So one of the things in the normal Christian life is that we're not trying to get into a room—we are already in. Right? We are already there. “I am the vine. You are the branches.”
The same life that flows in Me, Jesus says, flows in you. The same peace you saw Me operating in when I was asleep in the boat. Amen. When the most demonized man came in front of Me, I walked towards him—I had perfect peace.
When they came to arrest Me and I said, “I AM,” and they all fell—the peace that you saw in Me, that peace flows into you because I am the vine. You are the branches.
In fact, He says the branches are the part of the vine that manifests the fruit for people even to see and to enjoy. Fruit is for you to look at its beauty and to enjoy. It's not just to hang on the branch.
By the way, when you start off—real quick, okay, let you know—He says you bear fruit, more fruit, and then much fruit in the King James. You can see, right? Fruit is fruit. It can be like one fruit is fruit; a few fruits is fruit, right?
But then more fruit—after the Word has cleansed you—then much fruit. “Much” is what compared to “more.” You cannot count. Is that amazing? Oh, praise the Lord.
Okay, so He says, “He that abideth in Me and I in him beareth much fruit. For without Me you can do nothing.” For without Me you can do nothing. We don't believe that.
We believe that without Me you cannot do everything—we can do some things but not everything. We still believe you can do some things. No. When Jesus says you can do nothing, means nothing.
I have taken the position that I cannot do anything. I can do one thing: just abide in Him. Which is one of the easiest things to do. If I bring you into a room and I put you there and say, “Sit. Stay. Stay down here. I'll get coffee.”
What? “Stay.” That's the word for abide in Greek. Stay, abide. But there's a practical way of abiding in your daily life—how to remain there.
Now we are all in Christ—that one we can never be removed out of. Understand this: of Him are you in Christ. So God put you in Christ. That's not referring to the abiding that Jesus is talking about here, right?
We are already abiding in Christ. We are in Him—that truth. Some people like to call it positional truth. I like to call it eternal reality—that no one, you cannot even remove yourself out of it. Amen.
You are there permanently. Amen. Just like when Jesus comes again, your state will be permanent. You can't sin again. Amen. So right now it's already begun. You are in Christ.
But there's a practical way of walking in abiding in Him. There's to be inwardly conscious of Him. Now would you like to know how to abide in Him? Would you like to know? Alright, quick lesson.
Okay. Bible must interpret Bible, because I hear a lot of people saying—there are a lot of books out there saying abiding in Christ and abiding in Him, abiding and all—that's good. It's fine.
But I've asked a lot—I've read some of these books. Some of them are really good books, but they don't give me the answer. I'm no better after I finish the book, asking the question, “So how to abide?”
You tell me: do your best, live the Christian life, wake up every morning, do your quiet time. Amen. And spend time with the Lord and pray and all that. I mean, this question is there, but just didn't talk about these things as the key to abiding.
I must have Bible interpret Bible. Many years ago God opened my eyes to see the scripture 1 John 2:27. It says, “But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you.”
Now this—what “abide” means is always there. It never leaves you. “The anointing which you have received of Him abides in you. And you do not need that anyone teach you anything.” You don't need anyone to teach you.
“But as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things”—how many things? All things. So when God says “all,” don't qualify it, don't quantify it. Don't say, “Oh, it's only for spiritual things.”
No, it includes parenting. Amen. Includes how to restore an erring brother. It refers to how to—even in a particular day, in a particular circumstance—how to deal with this colleague. Everything. All things means all things.
God is jealous over your attention because He loves you so much. It is not all things you'll depend on something else. You'll depend on some psychology whatever or someone to help you or even your own self, your own brain.
And God wants you to depend on Him. So the anointing will teach you all things. Amen. And then He says, “And this anointing is true and is not a lie. And just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” Or the King James says, “You shall abide in Him.”
As long as you're following the anointing, you shall abide in Him in a practical way. You understand? You found the key. The key is the anointing within. Amen. I said the anointing within.
In fact, the whole passage here—and Jesus said when the Holy Spirit comes, He will teach you all things, right? The same anointing will teach you all things. By the way, when He says, “You do not need that anyone teach you,” John is teaching us this verse, right?
He's not saying you don't need teachers. He's telling you the anointing is there—it's always there. It's from God. And He will confirm to you what is true and what is not true. And the anointing will teach you.
And when you follow the anointing, you'll abide in Christ. Amen. In a practical way—like what Jesus says: he that abides in Me and I in him bringeth forth much fruit.
So here, listen—clearly He's not saying you don't need teachers, because Jesus in Ephesians tells us He gave gifts to the church: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers. Right?
Pastor is a gift from Jesus. I am Jesus' gift to you. Amen. All right. The pastors in this church—they are gifts to you. Amen. So the Bible teaches—amen. So the body of Christ in the fivefold gift—there is a stronger anointing.
For example, everyone can teach the Bible. You have a small group, you can teach the Bible. Especially in this church—a lot of sermons have come up from this church. Even people who are against me, they're preaching my sermons, but they won't say they got it from this house.
So definitely, if they can do it, you can do it. You've heard a lot down through the years. Everyone can teach, but come under submission. That's what we say: come under the authority of the body.
Which means don't do things out of the body. If one cell becomes overactive and multiplies its own group out of the body, the function of the body is called what? Cancer. Right? The cell has become abnormal.
Make sure it's in submission. So you can start a group, but make sure there is a group that has the approval of your leaders that are there to watch over your souls. Amen.
We should have one in every university, in every college, every campus, everywhere—even the workplace. And you from this church—I'm speaking personally now—I believe you're anointed to teach.
But when it comes to a teacher, the teacher has a greater anointing. You understand? Yes. Alright. A prophet—everyone can prophesy. Everyone can prophesy—not directional, but exhortation, encouragement, and comfort. You can even text your prophecy nowadays, right?
But a prophet has a stronger ability and even includes foretelling the future by the Holy Spirit. It's a stronger anointing. Evangelists have a strong anointing to win the lost. But all of us are called to win the lost. Amen.
You understand so far? So he's not saying you don't need anyone to teach you, but he says this—in fact, I'm going to show you this right now. John is teaching, right? John is a teacher as well as an apostle.
So John is teaching, right? Right. Now look up here. How are you learning this? I'm teaching you. So there is a need for the gift of the body of Christ. You never bypass the gift.
But what he's saying is that you don't need anyone to tell you, “This witness you're feeling is God.” It's God. This is the property of all the children of God.
In fact, same chapter—chapter two here, 1 John 2—you look earlier, he talks about the anointing in a different way: “You have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.”
Do you see that same word “anointing”? By the way, the word “anointing” is “charisma”—charisma. Okay. The world has a word “charisma.” It's for people that they see in old times who are filled with the Spirit, who operate by the Spirit.
They say they're charismatic people—people that are persuasive in the way they talk and all. They don't realize it's the Holy Spirit. So they say, “Oh, they've got special people—charismatic people.” That's why the world uses it.
Very interesting that the world uses “enthusiasm” or “He's a very—he's a person who exudes enthusiasm. He's enthusiastic.” But the word “enthusiasm” comes from “en” is inside, “theos” is God. Is God inside a person?
So back in those days, before they coined that word, they saw people who are believers and then, “Wow, they're full of passion, full of fire, full of life—God is in them.” Became the word “enthusiasm.” Got it? Okay.
Y'all don't just sit down there—be enthusiastic. Amen. Pastor, praise God. Amen. Okay, so watch this. Now listen—it says, “You know all things,” right? But then it tells you this: “I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.”
So it's like you know something, but then you need a clear voice, a clear word. That's where teaching comes in. Many times the anointing inside here—it's not, shall we say, it's voiceless.
Those say, “I hear God, I hear God”—I told you last week, be careful of people who come and prophesy to you all the time or say to you, “God said, God said, God said.” Those who really hear God don't say that kind of thing.
Whenever I gather with my pastors and all that, I say, “You guys, isn't it better if we do this? What do you think of this?” I don't say, “God said to me we do this—end of discussion. Who are you?”
Isn't it? You say, “God said,” right? No, no, no. That's not right. No pastor should do that. Amen. And I'll just say, “Let's discuss, let's talk about this.”
But then at the end of the discussion—involving must involve—“Can I say I just want to be part of it?” No—the Bible says in a multitude of counselors there is safety. And the wise men are recognized by the body of Christ.
Usually there are pastors in the church. When they gather together, after they discuss, it seems good to the Holy Spirit and to us—that's the conclusion. And then learn to submit to that beyond your own mind, even though you don't understand now. Amen and trust. Amen.
So here we have a case—but Pastor, I only submit to people that are smarter than me. You see, my MENSA score is pretty high. I dunno how to tell you—I don't want to say that, but I don't say that it's pretty high.
So for me in church, it's kind of hard for me to hear people. They have vocabulary—“Don't mind, Pastor Prince, your grammar.” But it's like, how to say—never mind.
Now I must learn to be humble. I want to tell you a little story. My son now, Justin, is 12 years old. When Jesus was 12 years old, the Bible says He was in the temple sitting down, hearing and asking questions.
If Jesus had taught them the Sermon on the Mount at that time, it's not appropriate at 12 years old. But He was what? Asking questions. That's the role of a child. But then the Bible says asking them questions—hearing them and asking them questions.
But then the Bible says they—the older people, the rabbis, the teachers around Him—were astonished at His answers. But then He didn't give answers. He was hearing them, asking them questions.
It must be they threw back the question: “Why do you think, then, young man? What is your take on it?” Then when He answered, they were all floored. They were amazed at His answers.
That's the way—an approach of someone who is growing but not fully there. So a posture is this. Watch this: is God pleased with His Son? The next verse—the very next verse—after the mother brought Him back, the mother says, “We sought You.”
“Did you not know I must be about My Father's business?” At the end—that's the first ministerial word uttered by Jesus at 12 years old. His last ministerial words were on the cross—talking about the earthly life, not the one after resurrection, right? His last ministerial word is “Finished.”
Okay? What's finished? What is finished? The Father's business—to come to save all of us. The next verse says Jesus increased. Now watch this. No—the next verse didn't say—the next verse actually says He went back with them. He was subject unto them.
What is “subject”? This child at 12 years old is wiser than Joseph and Mary, wiser than the rabbis of His time. If He threw a MENSA test—your son, sorry, I dunno how to say this, I dunno how to say this—but yours is like not at all.
But even though He was wise at 12 years old, He was subject unto them. Why? That's always a test when people get promoted. The test is always humility.
And I've—my 12-year-old boy—just a few days ago I said that: “You see that whenever you see someone having a fall, alright—long before there's a fall.” Solomon in his wisdom says there's pride long before you see respect and honor in front and the person is honored.
Long before that happens, there is humility. Before honor is humility. Pride goes first before a fall. Pride happens, and there's a fall. For sure, for sure—you got to watch it, especially when you are being installed or being promoted.
Or learn to say—I taught Justin this—learn to say, “By God's grace. It's still a journey with Him.” Like, “Boys, aye.” “Yeah, I did.” Then you let me—“By grace.”
I think he's just saying it. But anyway, one day it'll be a revelation to him. Amen. It's all by grace. When I say it's by grace, it's truly by grace. Amen.
Okay, are you with me so far? Alright. So look at this. What's the need for teaching then—preaching? Why? He says this right after he says you have anointing and you know all things: “I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.”
So it's like you know something but then you need a clear voice, a clear word. That's where teaching comes in. Many times my teaching confirms what you already have in your heart. Amen.
You're looking for an answer from God, Pastor. You've been praying about something, and I share something. Sometimes it's my rabbit trail—I didn't mean to share this in the main crux of my sharing—but having to say—and say my death for me—it confirms what you already have in your heart.
You see, you still need the teaching. So I call it: teaching is like the railway track. The anointing inside is like the locomotive engine.
Without a railway track, locomotive can go here, go there, go everywhere—like Liverpool playing—they are everywhere and nowhere the last game. So disappointed.
So having power with no track is dangerous. Having track, no power—what's the use? You go nowhere. You need this anointing within and the power to confirm the word—the power of God's Word confirming it, the written Word—and usually it comes by teaching and preaching.
Are you with me so far? Oh my goodness. This is just introduction. We got to have a camp—like a three-day camp. Sit down, fish the Word. Fish the Word. Amen. Praise the Lord.
We're going to have a camp down here, so bring your sleeping bag. So amazing. “I didn't write to you because you don't know. I write to you because—” I didn't push to you because you do not know—“because you know not inside, but you do not know that you know inside.”
So I'm telling you what your inside has been telling you, and then it's the truth because it confirms what you have inside. Now listen—he didn't say what. You must confirm what you have on the inside—the deep down inside, not your head.
That's not logical. Many times I'll go beyond your head, okay? Because God didn't design for you to rule your life by your head but by your spirit. Your head is your servant. Don't make him your boss. He will rule you. Okay.
So here we go. Praise the Lord. Now I'm starting to preach. Hi. Okay, anyway—back to the Spirit of the Lord. Look at this. The seven spirits of God—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding.
Now many times the gifts of the Holy Spirit manifest—I actually in the realm—look up here—there are nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. Three to say something, three to do something powerful supernatural. The last three to know something—to know, to say, to do, alright?
To know: the gift of the word of wisdom—usually it's got to do with the future; the gift of the word of knowledge—“There's someone here, you're having this condition”—like what I did. There's an example of the word of knowledge.
The gifts of discerning of spirits—spirits of angels, sensing angels are there or even demons. Gifts of knowing something. The next gift—the three gifts knowing something, right? Revelation gifts.
This is the Spirit of wisdom and revelation manifesting. Okay. Then next one is the gift of saying something. The gift of saying something—what are they? You all know this: tongues, interpretation of tongues, and the gift of—I mentioned that just now—all can prophesy, right? Prophecy.
And the last one—to do something with exploits, miraculous beyond your ordinary ability. What is it? The gifts of healings, the gift of working of miracles, and the gift of faith—because the gift of faith must operate in all this for it to operate.
It's one thing to tell someone, “Jump up right now” whose leg is all bent up and all that. So you must know that you know that you know. Okay.
So I want you to know that this—now, by the way, the power gifts—what manifests it? Spirit of counsel and might. Remember the Bible says it like this: Samson had nothing in his hand except the jawbone of a donkey.
And 1,000 Philistines came against him, and he took the jawbone of the donkey, and all of a sudden the Spirit of God came on him mightily. Might manifested as might at that time. He doesn't need wisdom. He needs the Spirit of might.
You got it? Are you with me so far? I'm going to show you right now the prayers of Paul. There are two prayers of Paul that we should pray over ourselves every day because it's a Spirit-inspired prayer, and it's a prayer good for Paul back then.
It's a prayer that is, shall we say, evergreen because it's of the Spirit. You can pray for yourself. The first one is in chapter one of Ephesians, and this is what he prayed.
He says this: “Making mention of you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of—” Now do you have the Holy Spirit? Yes.
But now I want the Holy Spirit there to manifest in you in your life, especially as the Spirit of wisdom and revelation. Spirit of wisdom—I see it. We see this in the life of Joseph in the Old Testament.
The Holy Spirit doesn't come on everybody, alright? It comes only on prophets, priests, and kings. But sometimes—and we can see in the Bible—it comes on individuals that are significant, like Joseph, who is not a king.
Okay, watch this. He was a slave. What was he? A slave. Then the Pharaoh at that time—when he was a slave—Pharaoh had a dream, and his dream was all the seven—seven cows came out, and there were seven cows that came out of the River Nile, and the seven cows were—the Bible says “fine”—my New King James says “fine-looking and fat.”
I was reading that, and I'm thinking, “Fat is good, right? Fine-looking and fat.” And then all of a sudden another seven cows, and it says “thin”—it says “ugly and gaunt.” Then your King James says “so gaunt is bad.”
Someone told me earlier, “Pastor Prince, you look gaunt.” So when you're Scripture-minded like me, it is not a compliment. I asked my wife the other day, “I want to be fat. Let me be fat again.” I was fat.
So seven fat, fine-looking cows and seven ugly cows. And the Bible says the seven ate the fat cows—seven gaunt ones ate the fat cows, and the dream ended. Part two—there's another dream.
He dreamed another dream. This time grains and grains of wheat. And one stalk has—sorry—seven. Do you know that an average stalk of wheat—you know how many grains they have? Five at the most. Five.
But to have seven heads full of grain, plump and juicy—that means what? Wow, that is extraordinary harvest. And there were seven. He saw seven stalks of wheat having seven heads, and then on the other side again—this is the positive side, okay?
Negative side—there were seven ugly ones with no heads. Amen. Don't look around, Pastor. I'm not talking about my husband. No, no, no. Focus on the Word. Call those things that are not as though they were.
Say his head is plump and juicy—touching a lot on the head. Okay. And these grains—the skinny ones ate up the good ones, but then they looked the same after that. Even the cows—the skinny ones—they still looked skinny and ugly. Very ugly.
So Pharaoh got up. He knew it was a supernatural dream. No one could—no magician would interpret. So they brought this guy because he interpreted the prison—the butler's dream—and he was there.
Remember the butler's dream and the baker's dream? He interpreted it. One was a message of death; one was a message of salvation. Amen. It's like Jesus on the cross—one was a message of death, one was a message of salvation for the one on the cross. Anyway.
So he was summoned to the court. All this to show you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in manifestation. Said, “I hear that you can interpret.” Look—humility before honor.
What did he say? “It's not in me. It's not in me. God will give you the—” I think you must see it for yourself. And then he says this: the dream was repeated to Pharaoh twice because the thing is established by God. God will bring it to pass.
“Now therefore let Pharaoh select a discerning and wise man and set him over the land of Egypt.” So he interpreted the seven fat cows as seven years of plenty, the seven heads of grain as seven years of plenty, and then the ugly cows as seven years of famine and seven years of ugly empty heads of grain as seven years of famine.
And again there'll be seven years of plenty and then followed by seven years of famine. Then that's where the dream ends. The rest is extra wisdom of God supplying.
Now the extra is here: “So let therefore Pharaoh select a discerning, wise man, set him over the land of Egypt. Let Pharaoh do this. Let him appoint officers over the land to collect one-fifth of the produce.”
We used to do this last time in our church—to reserve this so that we can be a place to bless others—20% set aside. And then the land of Egypt in the seven plentiful years.
So it all depends on which juncture the Lord begins to lead you and guide you. You can draw wisdom from here, by the way. So Joseph says save 20%—don't eat everything during the seven good years. Save 20%, and then seven bad years come—everyone comes to them, plus his brothers.
You know the story, right? But what happened at the end? Pharaoh says, “Can we find—” drop down all the way to—“Can we find such a one in whom is the Spirit of God?”
Go on. Then Pharaoh said, “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word. Only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.”
He took his signet ring, put it on Joseph's hand, clothed him in garments of fine linen, put a gold chain around his neck. He had him ride in the second chariot, and everyone cried, “Bow the knee.” He set him over the land of Egypt.
So when you operate like that in your workplace, in your ministry—amen—honor came. But he knew that the honor was not something that was wrought by his own efforts. By the wisdom he says, “It's in God. God will give the answer.”
Daniel—“God will give you the answer.” Are you with me so far? Manifest Spirit of wisdom. Would you like that? Then pray this prayer every day—Ephesians: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory—instead of you—“He may give me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.”
Your son doesn't have a revelation—doesn't have revelation of the importance of going to church or importance of the Word of God. He's just filled with social media, the world, and just lost down there.
Pray this prayer for him. Pray this prayer: “Say, God, give him the spirit of wisdom and revelation.” All of a sudden one day revelation comes—reveals, “Oh, what are these stupid things I'm doing? These people got no answer.”
So talk, talk, talk—no answer. All of a sudden—boom. Wow. The answer is there all the time. “This is sure. This is not maybe, perhaps, so—I mean the words all in perhaps, maybe—no. God deals with certainties. Verily, verily.” Amen. Amen.
Certainly, certainly. Wow. Revelation comes. You cannot give him the revelation. I cannot give the revelation. But I pray for you to have the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him—“the eyes of your understanding being enlightened,” that you may know.
Just let you know that this word here uses the word “phōtizō”—that the eyes of your heart—you see your eyes, by the way one translation says the eyes of your heart. I'm using that. The eyes of your heart.
Let me what? You see the answer. You see what to do. Joseph sat down there—he saw the answer. He saw what the seven cows meant. He saw the solution. He saw it.
Your boss is looking for someone who can see it. Amen. Your client wants someone that they can deal with who can see—who is prophetic also in the future. Amen.
Many times it goes to Spirit of prophecy because you see the future of your children. You say, “I just had a thought”—no, no. The language of the Holy Spirit: vision and dreams. So that's how it manifests.
Then might—how many want might? Those of you working hard, pumping iron and working out, running until you become gaunt like me—and it's not because I'm running. I just must eat more.
Would you like the Spirit of might to come on you? That's the next prayer—in Ephesians chapter three. It says, “For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ—” drop down the same prayer—“that He will grant you according to the riches of His glory to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man.”
Now listen—when you're strengthened in your inner man with might, it's not self-encouragement. Do you know that it has an effect on your body? The Bible says the spirit of man will sustain his infirmity. The spirit quickens your body.
So when the Spirit of might comes—this is what happens to Samson. Like Samson—he's not a prophet, priest, king in the Old Testament, but the Spirit came on him because he was the designated judge of Israel at that time to deliver them.
Are you with me so far? Time is up. Got to let you go. I just started. Okay, got so much more to share. Amen.
Have you been blessed? Yes. Give praise to God. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
And these two prayers are prayers you can pray every day, every time. It's not “I claim by faith in Jesus' name”—you don't pray anymore. No. This is not that kind of prayer. This prayer is continuous prayer.
Paul prayed for them continuously this prayer. Amen. And may the Spirit of wisdom and revelation manifest in your life.
Every head bowed, every eye closed all across this place. My friend, if you have never put your trust in Jesus Christ—see, all this that we learn is so that we can abide in Christ. Amen.
And when you are out of Him, there is no life, there is no light, there is no love out there. He came because He loved you. He died on the cross for your sins, and He rose again from the dead for your justification.
So if that is you, say, “Pastor, I want Jesus Christ to be my life, and I want Jesus Christ to be—and that life is eternal life. My friend, I want Jesus to be my wisdom, my strength, my health. I want Jesus to be my Savior.
If my heart stops beating, I know heaven is my home because Jesus Christ is my Savior, and I want Him to be my Lord.” If that is you, whether you are here—pray this prayer with me right now. Are you ready?
Say this after me: “Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask of You—grant me, Father, the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Because Jesus Christ is my Lord and my Savior. Thank You—You have raised Him from the dead for my justification. All my sins forgiven, all my diseases healed. Thank You, Father. From now on I'll never walk alone. In Jesus' name, amen.”
Amen. Praise the Lord. So once you have prayed, you'll never walk alone. You know which team you're supposed to support in your salvation prayer. Okay.
So stand to your feet. Lift your hands all across this place and everywhere that's watching this right now. I pray for you in the name of Jesus that God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him—the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, flooded with light—that you may know, that you may see what God wants you to see throughout this week.
And God strengthen every one of you with all might through His Spirit in your inner man unto all perseverance, unto all patience, that you might excel even in moral character throughout this week. In the name of the Lord Jesus.
And all the people said amen. God bless you. We'll see you again.
