John Hagee - Entering the Land

TOPICS: Promise Land

How many of you would like to experience an explosion of God's power to enter into a land flowing with milk and honey, blessings beyond number, with houses you didn't build, and wells you did not dig, vineyards you did not plant, all of your enemies are scattered before you, your enemies that you will see no more, an abundance that's simply beyond belief? How many of you would like to enjoy that? That's what God has created for you in the precious promises of the word of God. It is a gold mine of the unsearchable riches of Christ. And all of those promises are available to every person in this audience and to the millions that are watching around the world.

Reading Deuteronomy 7:22 and 23 together, ready? And the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you little by little. Look at that phrase. You will be unable to destroy them at once, lest the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. But the Lord your God will deliver them over to you and will inflict defeat upon them until they are destroyed.

Father God, thank you for the word. Thank you for the promises of God to bring us into the provision, the land flowing with milk and honey, the day of abundance, the day when God's grace brings to us the unsearchable riches of Christ. Let us receive it today in this audience and those who listen around the world. In Jesus' name, we pray. And all of God's children said, amen. Amen.

You may be seated. Two problems you must conquer to enter the land of milk and honey. One is deception. Jesus said in Matthew 24:4: take heed that no man deceives you. Say that with me, take heed that no man deceives you. Saint Paul says in 2 Thessalonians 2:3: let no man deceive you. The two most powerful personalities in the New Testament warned the church about deception. Ephesians 4:14: men lie in wait to deceive you. "Deception" defined is "Someone who thinks he's right but he's not". The disciples asked Jesus for a sign of the end of the world. And Jesus said in Matthew 24, it is deception.

And then you hear people say, oh, pastor, I would never have been deceived. I'm so mature. I've been saved six weeks now and I've got a deliverance ministry and purified beyond imagination. Here's a Bible verse: if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. The greatest deceiver you will ever know is you about yourself. The heart is deceitful above all else. Why do I say that? Because young people say, well, I'm just following my heart. That's the dumbest thing you can do. The heart is deceitful above all else. Be careful where your heart will take you without the word of God.

America is in a crisis of deception. We have religious deception. Saint Paul called it "The doctrine of demons". What is that? A doctrine of demons is presenting another way to salvation other than through Jesus Christ. Listen to this clearly. There is no name given among men whereby we might be saved other than the name of Jesus Christ, acts 4:12. Jesus says: I am the way, I am the truth and the life. And there is no other. Give him praise in the house of God. When Israel sacrificed their children to the God molech, God sent them into captivity.

I want you to hear this very clearly. America's number one problem is not the economy. America's number one problem is God. Why? Because God always judges sin. There are 60 million abortions this nation has to answer for. When we put on national television the selling of baby body parts, we are a nation that has lost its soul. Abortion is not a free choice: it is murder in the counsel of God. God will not look the other way! He will not look the other way! We will face that in judgment! The first step in deception is the rejection of truth. When you reject truth, all that's left is a lie. When you reject this, you've cut the rope to the anchor that holds your soul on course.

Satan's first attack in the Garden of Eden with Adam and eve was attack the word of God. Hath God said? Did God really mean what he said? Six thousand years later, agnostics, atheists, and compromising, cowardly Christians are saying, did God really mean that? I mean after all, that was thousands of years ago. Surely he's changed his mind. I received a fedex from heaven this morning. It says, I am the Lord your God and I never change. That's in this book. What's God's position on lying? "All liars shall have their part in the lake of fire". By the way, that's hell. That's pretty clear. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to pick that up. The liar, the church gossip, the rapist will walk in the same fires of hell.

Oh, pastor, I don't believe in hell. That's too bad. It's still there and you're still going. I say to the pastors of America watching this telecast, go back to the Bible. Bring back commonsense. Bring back moral sanity. Bring back the revival of righteousness. Bring back the work ethic that God established in the first book of Genesis. Bring back the Ten Commandments. Bring back integrity. Bring back individual responsibility. Bring back the core values that made America the greatest country on the face of the earth. We can take this country back! With God in one hand and the word in the other, we will prevail!

The second problem you must solve to get into the Promised Land and to the provision is temptation. How do you respond in the hour of temptation? Why does God allow temptation? So you can find out what's really in you. You can't tell in church. But you can tell in the hour of temptation. How does God test us? Listen closely. He sends us into the problem and then he removes his conscious presence to see how we will react. Now listen very closely. There's a difference between the omnipotence of God and the conscious presence of God. We know that God is everywhere. But what God is trying to get us to recognize is that he is here right now. Here's an illustration.

One day Diana and I were at home. She knew I was in the house. This is omnipresence. I was in the closet arranging my shirts every three inches. She opened the closet door, she saw me, and screamed bloody murder. I said, I live here. She knew I was in the house. That's omnipresence. She didn't know I was right there. We know God is in the world. But you need to know he's right here right now. Right now, he is in this place! Where two or three of you are together, he's here! Say it! He is here! He is here! Hallelujah to the lamb of God! When Jesus was on the cross, he said: my God, why have you forsaken me? God did not forsake him. His son had become sin. And he withdrew his conscious presence of him.

The Bible says, God tempted Abraham, in Genesis 22:2. Take now your only son... And the next verse: and Abraham rose up early in the morning, and went to the place where God told him to go. Abraham didn't say, well did God really mean what he said? He didn't go and talk to his wife, and say, God told me we'd have to kill our son. Because you know that would have been the end of it right there. His emotions raged. He forced his emotions to obey the word of God without hesitation. Listen to me. God will not tell you more until you obey the last thing he told you to do. God then withdrew to see what Abraham would do. And he immediately went to the place of sacrifice. That's the moment he became the father of every nation, of all nations and the father of all that believe.

In the problem, he obeyed instantly without question. Do you? Do you? When God gives you the problem, and you see it coming, do you start rolling out a list of reasons why you can't do it? Or do you say, father, this is what your word declares. I'm going straight through the problem. Put my hand in your hand. We're going to walk through this fire and come out without the smell of smoke on us! Give the Lord praise in the house. Let me give you a kind of temptation that God gives every person and he gave to Judas. Judas failed the test. Money. Jesus gave us 38 parables. Sixteen of them deal with money. More is said about money in the New Testament than heaven and hell combined. There are 500 plus verses on both prayer and faith. There are over 2.000 verses dealing with how you handle your possessions.

America doesn't know how to deal with money. According to the social security records, 85 out of 100 Americans have less than $250 when they reach age 65. Listen to that. Fewer men are worth $100 at the age of 65 than they were at the age of 18. It means they worked for 50 years and could not manage to save $2 a year. That's what that means. America, as a nation, is bankrupt. And so are the majority of the people, because we have failed the money issue. If you will use God's method of economy, you will prosper.

God owns all the cattle on a thousand hills. It is the Lord that gives you the power to get wealth. All of the gold and the silver are mine, saith the Lord. You cannot prosper stealing from God. He promises that. Many of you are going to die in the wilderness over this problem, because you refuse to go through the problem with God's help. I was looking at the word "Debt" the other day, d-e-b-t, debt, and a whole new meaning came to mind, "Doing everything but tithing". What does this have to do with Judas? Judas had a money problem. He was greedy. Jesus let him handle the bag, meaning filled with money. He wanted Judas to come face to face with the cancer on his soul. He gave him the opportunity to face his greed problem.

In the final analysis, Judas sold the son of God for 30 pieces of silver. Because he could not master his greed for money. Giving is the only proof you have that the cancer of greed has not consumed your soul. What you do not master will master you. A pastor was raising money in a church to remodel it. It was in disrepair. The wealthiest man in the church stood up and said, I'll give a thousand dollars. He sat down. And as he sat down, a piece of sheetrock fell from the ceiling and hit him in the head. He got up and said, I'll change that. I'll give $10.000. The pastor said, dear God, hit him again.

How do I enter the land? Listen now. We're coming to the ticker tape. Listen closely. How do I enter the land? Little by little. Say that with me, little by little. How did George Mueller in England take care of 2500 orphans every day without government assistance, without the assistance of other Christians? He did it little by little. If you haven't read his story, do so. This one man started taking care of one child, then four children. And then he filled the house next door and the house next door, four houses. Then he expanded it. At the age of 90, without help from the government or anyone, he was educating, sending to college, 2.500 children. And God supplied for every need all of those years, little by little.

Let me read to you 2 Peter 1:5 through 7. But also for this very reason, Peter writes. Giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue: to virtue, knowledge: to knowledge, self-control: to self-control, perseverance: to perseverance, Godliness: to Godliness, brotherly love: and to brotherly love, kindness. Listen to this very quickly, because each one of these words is worthy of a message in and by itself. But Peter makes a profound statement here you must realize to get into the Promised Land. Besides being saved, add more to your Christianity. Do something with what you have. There's more to Christ than coming to get your sins forgiven. There's the growth and the development of a productive Christian that actually has the power to bless other people's life.

Do something with what you have. On the day of judgment, we're going to answer for the gap that exists between where we are and where could have been had we added to our faith and taken care of the opportunities God gave us. Secondly, add diligence. Diligence is spiritual exertion. Every job you do is a portrait of you. It's a portrait of you. Let me see your work. If it's sloppy, you're sloppy. That's a Bible fact. If it's not worth doing right the first time, when are you going to have the time to do it over? Do it with excellence or don't do it!

Third, add faith. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Faith is not believing that God can. Faith is believing that God can do it for you right now. Faith is knowing that God can and will do it based on his word. Emotion can walk into a room with a sick child in the bed and watch him die with tears in your eyes. Emotion never helped anybody! When somebody's laying in that bed dying, you have the power of faith to push the spirit of death away from that person. In the authority of Jesus' name, may the spirit of life and the healing power of the son of God heal my child. And that child will be healed even as you are speaking, because the word of faith is greater than the power of death. Add virtue. Virtue is power.

When the woman with the sickness came up and touched Jesus, he said: I felt virtue go out of me. The greatest need of the church in America today is power. There's power in the name of Jesus Christ. There's power in the word. There's power in the blood. Paul said: having a form of Godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such, turn away. If you're watching me, and your church has no power, Paul says find yourself another church. Add to that knowledge. The book of James says: if a man lacks knowledge. Let him ask for it. I would not be able to count the hundreds of times that I did not have a clue about what to do next. And I sat down and just quoted the word of God to the Lord. I said, I don't know what to do and I want you to show me. Because until you show me, I'm doing nothing. And within hours, bing. That's the answer. And away we went.

People say, he knew the answer all the time. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I did not. God gave me the answer. Then you hear people say, well, I want to hear about doctrine because that's deep. And then, I'm with that jump-and-shout-and-dance-about group. Okay. Let's balance this. If you have all doctrine, you dry up. If you have all Spirit, you blow up. If you balance doctrine and spirit, you grow up. And add to knowledge, self-control. Samson conquered the Philistines, but he couldn't conquer himself. And his lust for delilah caused him to be captured by the Philistines. He ground corn like an ox all the days of his life, because he couldn't conquer himself.

Proverbs 16:32: he that rules his spirit is greater than a man who conquers a great city. Add patience. Patience is endurance. They that endure to the end shall be saved. You're going to reach your Promised Land, because quit is not in your vocabulary. Get it out of your mouth. Get it out of your mind. Don't run around with people who quit! Quit is murdering your opportunity for success. There comes a time in every marriage when quit looks good. There comes in every friendship when quit looks good. The word of God says, press on. Press on. Endure. Siempre adelante, always moving forward. Go through the problem, all the way through the problem, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Number eight, add Godliness. It's a profound statement so simple, mind boggling: God loves everybody. You have to be God to have the capacity for that. The person who looks up to God does not look down on other people. God has put the church here to love everybody. We're not looking to see who we can put out but who we can bring in, not who we can put down but who we can lift up. That's Godliness.

And nine, brotherly kindness, brotherly kindness. To brotherly kindness, add love. What's the difference between brotherly kindness and love? Brotherly love is to love those who love you. Jesus said even the pharisees can do that. But God's love is loving those that hate you, those who speak evil of you. Oh, no one hates me, pastor. I've had people tell me this. Drifty, but they told me. Let me tell you, when you live for Christ without compromise in this world, they will hate you. Jesus said: the world hated me and it will hate you. Jesus said that. Some live such insipid lives for Jesus that you can't tell you're a Christian, so that's the problem.

Our reaction to hatred is blessed are you when men shall revile you and say all manner of evil against you falsely. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward which is in heaven. Now you are ready to walk across the Jordan into the Promised Land. How many of you, right now, are ready for God's blessings to explode in your life, for the windows of heaven to open, for your enemies to be conquered, for your fears to be placed aside, for you to walk through the problem into the Promised Land? Stand to your feet. Stand to your feet in the house of God. I want you to pray this prayer with me. And those of you that are watching by television to pray this prayer with me.

Heavenly Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, right now, on the wings of faith, I'm walking into the provision of God. I'm going to receive today God's prosperity, his healing for my mind and body. I'm going to receive love, joy, and peace. I'm going to let God show me the way to solve this problem. I'm going to live with the provision, because his promises are true, in Jesus' name. Amen.
