John Gray - Leave the Door Open

We got all the grace for likeminded sin, but when it's a different sin. But I need you to get this in your spirit, write it down. There is no sin scale. Every sin will get you cut off from the Father, and if you sin in one area, it's counted in all areas. If you make one mistake, you and I are worthy of being cut off from God. But the blood of Jesus has been shed for every single person in this church and everybody watching online and everybody that will ever listen for all the time that they can hear this message. The blood of Jesus is available to you right now.

I want you to know that no matter what you've done, the door is open. You might be shocked to hear that. You might still be in a relationship of works, trying to work your way back into relationship, trying to work your way into pleasing God, and God says hey, hey, hey, why don't you clock out 'cause Jesus already clocked in, he took your shift. Matter of fact, he worked your whole, he worked your whole week, he did your whole career. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, so Jesus took everything for you, he took that. You get his check. He took your check. Somebody say there's only one door. I want you to stop working to please God. Stop trying to do things to make God love you. You can't do anything to make God love you. My son doesn't do anything to make me love him. He can't pay me back for what I'm sowing into him. How much more can we not pay God back for what he's given to us. Stop working to please him. He's already pleased with you.

You're like, but I'm making mistakes, I do so many things wrong, I can't understand how he could love me. Quiet. God is in love with you. He's already made up his mind about you. You are the thing that he looks after every day, every night. He sings over you. He loves you. He sends his angels to keep charge over you. You matter to heaven. That's why they're afraid of you in hell. And I need you to know something. I want you to go to Ephesians 1:4. It says, I'll go to the third verse: blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love. Chose us in him before the foundation of the world.

How old are you ma'am? Mm-hmm. All right. Young lady, she says early 20s, 23 years old. You're 23 earth years. That's how long you've been in the earth, but you've always been in God's mind for all of eternity. In fact, before you got in the earth, before your mom and dad knew each other, God already had a plan for your life millions and millions and billions of years ago, but until the earth needed you, God didn't speak your name because, once he speaks a name, the egg and the seed have to come together and produce you.

You can't sneak into the earth. You have to be spoken into the earth. And when he spoke you, you showed up. But you ain't just gettin' here. You've always been in God's mind and he knew that you and I would make some mistakes. The Bible calls it sin, but the Bible says he chose us in him before the foundation of the world. So before the big bang, before the creation of the universe, before he said, "Let there be light," before he started forming mountains and seas and oceans and birds and cattle and beasts of the field, before he planted the garden named Eden, he had already chosen that Jesus would die for you and I, which means I'm already right with the Father once I confess what Jesus did over my life, which means men can't condemn me, hell can't keep me, my past can't break me, and my present can't stop me.

Somebody say I belong to God. I want you to get your faith up in here. I want you to know when you leave here tonight, no matter what life comes your way, you belong to God. He loves you. Too many times, we want to put people in a box and make them do God our way. Oh, help me, Holy Ghost. I want you to know that my God's love over me is healing me right now. How many of us would be disqualified from our destiny if we were to be counted for the things that we did in our past? How many of us would be cut off if God dealt with us based on what we did last week, last month, last year, last night? How many of us wouldn't have the guts to walk in this church right now if heaven was gonna bring up every wrong thing we've done? But every time we walk in, the blood washes. Every time we confess, the blood cleanses. Every time we cry out, he's there to catch us.

There's a couple things I need you to know about the love of God. The first thing is God's love is preexisting. I need you to understand that his love, his love's been here before you got here. You need to write this down, revelation 13:8 I want you to study it. Revelation 13:8. It says your name will be found in the book of life of the lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world. He chose us in him before the foundation of the world. Isn't that funny? Because the lamb was slain before the foundation of the world. So he chose us at the same time that he paid for us. I'm preachin' good in here.

I need you to understand that your life has already been paid for. The transaction is complete. You don't have to bring anything to the table except your confession. Once you confess, the Holy Spirit begins to do a work in your life. And you can't grow you, so relax and allow the Holy Spirit to do his work in you, for he who began a good work in you is faithful to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. Don't let anybody else make you feel bad 'cause you're not where they are or where they want you to think they are. You keep living your life. You keep running your race. You keep pulling your little red wagon.

Don't worry about what they pulling because everything that glitters is not gold. Stay faithful to your development. Know that the love of God over you is preexisting. I want you to know his love is better than the best insurance. He covers all preexisting conditions. You don't have to enroll. You don't have to sign up. All you gotta do is say Jesus, I need you, and he's right there and everything you are doing, or will ever do is already covered. Preexisting insurance and preexisting assurance. Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine o what a foretaste of glory divine heir of salvation, purchase of God born of his spirit, washed in his blood I'm in his blood so no matter what you knew about me, I'm not dirty anymore because what I did is not who I am.

I think somebody's getting free. You need to know this. Leave the door open. God's love leaves the door open, no matter who you are, no matter what you've done, no matter how many times you fail. Bad marriage? Leave the door open. Bad decisions? Leave the door open. Not sure of your identity? Leave the door open. Struggling with addiction? Leave the door open. Shame and guilt got you? Leave the door open. Don't know how to break free? Leave the door open. Not sure who Jesus is? Leave the door open. Still angry at God because of something that happened? You lost a loved one and nobody told you that that wasn't God that did it, that was the enemy that comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but you're still not sure about this whole Jesus thing? Leave the door open. Leave the door open for the love of God to overtake you. I want you to know that the love of God is not only preexisting, it's preemptive. Say preemptive.

Romans 5:6 says: for when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. And down at the 10th verse, it says: for if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. I want you to know that we were enemies with God. Anybody in here can be honest to say you might be on the winning side now, but there was a time in your life where your lifestyle was an enemy to God. I've got maybe nine or eight, you know, seven. You don't have to clap, but just. And maybe keep your hand up so the people at home can know they're not alone 'cause some people watch online not only 'cause they can't get here, but they're not sure if we'll receive them if they come.

I want you to know there's a seat at the table for you. There is no judgment here. There's no condemnation here. There is no guilt here. There is no sin, no brokenness, no thing that you're doing that is beyond the love of God, the reach of God, the favor of God, the redemption of God, the healing of God, the blessing of God. There is nothing that you can do to stop God from loving you. Don't you ever feel guilty or ashamed about coming to his house. He's your Father too. Somebody's gon' get free in here in the next two minutes. I love the fact that it say in Romans while we were yet sinners, Christ died for the good people. Christ died for the ones that have it all together. Christ died for the tithers. He died for those with premium suits. He died for those with red bottoms. He died for those with nice hair. He died for the ungodly.

Everybody say ungodly. Un, without. God, godly. Don't even have his character. Don't want his character. Don't want to know him. It says while we were sinners, we were enemies with God. I want you to know his love was preemptive. Say preemptive. Preemptive is a war term which means the enemies were on one side and God was on the other side. And the enemies are God, I can't stand you. I don't want nothin' to do with you. I'm not coming to church. I don't want no word. I don't want to change. I like my sin. I like my life. I like my wrong. I'm right in my wrong. You don't tell me what to do. I'm a free moral agent. I can do what I want. You don't run me. Represent my whole clique. We up in the building. Yeah, I like to party, I like to club, I like to drink, I like to smoke, I like to have sex with whoever I want whenever I want. I don't wanna hear nothin' about you or your church.

And while we were enemies, God said oh yeah, well here's what I'm gon' do. I'mma gonna love you and I'mma bless you and I'mma cover you. Get your hands off me. No, I can't do without you. I love you so much. The blood of my Son covers you. Come on and dance with me. I don't wanna dance with you. Leave me alone. I can't leave you alone 'cause you look just like me. I need you. I let my Son die for you. Please don't go. Please don't go don't go. I need you. Stop doing that because the more you love me, the less my hatred remains. I know because perfect love casts out all fear.

You're afraid 'cause you don't know what's on the other side of holiness. But I want you to know everything that's artificial on this side is real over here. You mean I don't have to sleep around to feel love? No, I got a perfect love over here and you don't have shame to go with it. Ain't no guilt attached to it. Oh, why don't you come over here. You don't have to worry about taking tests at the doctor when I love you. Are you sure? Because people look at me and they see what I've done wrong. But I see what I've done right. I've given you a heart that loves me. I've given you a heart that'll serve me. Come on on this side. Okay, don't hurt me, don't hurt me, don't hurt me. Come on, I love you. And while I'm at it, why don't you bring your friends because I am the door.

How many people know he loved you, he loved you while you were his enemy? He loved you. You were ready to hit him with hate and he hit you with love. He hit you with mercy. He hit you with forgiveness. He hit you with loving kindness. Hallelujah. Jesus said, "Come to me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you". The word labor means oppressive, it's almost like drudgery, people who are so broken by life that they don't have any hope. Jesus said I want them. The ones that other people judge and cast away? I want them. Come to me and I'll give you rest. He said and you'll have rest for your soul. This ain't a flesh thing. He wants to give you rest for your soul so you can sleep at night, so you can have peace, so those tears that flow aren't tears of sadness, but tears of joy.

I want you to know he says come to me. I don't care what you've done. It doesn't matter what you've done. I am the door. The last point, and thank you for your patience, and if you can just stay for the next couple minutes, I believe it's gonna bless your life. The last point. Not only is God's love preexisting and preeminent. Hallelujah, hallelujah. Preexisting, preemptive, but it's also preeminent. Say preeminent. That means it's first. It's the first. It's preeminent, it's premiere, it's top of the line love. This ain't no average love. This is no regular love. This is not just puppy love. This is a God love, this is a heaven love, where all of heaven already knows your name because your Father has declared you belong to him.

And I don't care what you've done, I don't care what you're walking through, there is nothing that can separate you from this love. Romans 8:38: for I am persuaded that neither death nor the life you're living, nor angels nor demons nor principalities nor powers, nor things present, what you're doing now, things in the past, or things to come, what you will do, neither height, no matter how high you go or depth, no matter how you low you've been, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. He is the door. It is a preeminent love. It is a preexisting love. It is a preemptive love.

He'll stop everything to love you back into relationship. He's been loving you before you gave your first cry in the hospital. And it's a preeminent love. That means it's supersedes everything you and I will ever do or have ever done. What love this is that he has given us forgiveness, healing, and favor, and all we gotta do is confess. Luke 15:13 talks about a young man who took his inheritance, and it says he wasted it in a foreign country, johnny on prodigal living. We call it the story of the prodigal son. It didn't say he was a prodigal. It says his living was prodigal. Whoo! I'm tryin' to help you with your theology 'cause we say the prodigal son, he was a bad man. No, no. He lived in a moment, but he came to himself. Ugh.

Tonight, I hope, in the next minute, you'll come to your senses and know that there's a love waiting on you. The Bible says when he came to himself, he said how many of my father's servants have bread enough and to spare? I'm gonna go back and just be a servant. At least I'll be doing better than what I'm doing right here. And you know the story. When the father saw him far off, the Bible says he stood there with his arms folded, saying mm-hmm. I knew you'd be back. Triflin'. Isn't that what he did? What'd he do? Is that, is that my son? Is that my boy? Is he, is he coming home? That's my son. He's coming home. He didn't stay where he was. He took off running because that was his boy. And I don't know who you are tonight, but heaven is standing up saying are they gon' come back tonight? Is it my daughter? Is it my son? I'm running to you. I want you to know God is running to meet you. There's a love that runs for you, even if all you can do is crawl to him. I want you to know.

Final point. If I'm a father and my son is gone and I don't know when he's coming home, I don't guess I'd leave the door locked. If I'm believing that my son's gonna come home, I'mma leave the door unlocked. And if anybody locks it, hold on, leave that door unlocked. Your brother might come home tonight. I bet the big brother in my imagination, why you gonna leave the unlocked? Anybody could get in. Yeah, but your brother might come back. I don't want him the door, I want him to know the door is open. I don't know who you are tonight, but your Father says the door is unlocked. You don't even have to knock. Just come on in. Matter of fact, he's gon' crack the door 'cause that's what Jesus did on the cross. The enemy wanted to keep you cut off from the Father. Jesus said since the world and religious people want to keep you away from me, I'mma push the door open. And once they realize they couldn't get him over there, they tried to close this door and so Jesus said I'm not gon' let you close that door either.
