John Bradshaw - He Lost Everything, Then...
It's a fascinating story. A millionaire lost everything he had in a stock market crash, he went to live on a remote deserted island; never a handyman, he quickly learned to become resourceful.
He arrived on the island with little and not much has changed, he forages for food, goes to the mainland occasionally for supplies, and often barters with passing fishermen, and things go wrong, there are acid spraying ants and deadly spiders and snakes, and he's been chased on a few occasions by crocodiles.
That kind of lifestyle isn't for everyone but what he shows, is that it's possible to get by with much less than we have. Paul wrote in Philippians 4:11, "I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content". You can easily accumulate a lot of stuff; living more simply can often be really good for the soul. I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written.
