John Bradshaw - They Didn't Take Offense

John Bradshaw - They Didn't Take Offense
TOPICS: Every Word, Offense

When the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh built an altar, similar to the altar used in the worship of God, their actions were misinterpreted as apostasy by the rest of Israel, and a delegation confronted them. But instead of reacting angrily when they were misjudged, they were patient and gracious, and a bad situation was avoided.

In homes, workplaces, schools, and even in churches, all over the land, people react with hostility when they're falsely accused, but it's better to just let it go, to be Christian, settle things amicably.

Peter wrote, "Love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling; but on the contrary blessing." 1 Peter 3:8 and 9.

If you can put aside your pride and choose to not take offense, it will be a kinder, happier world. I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written.
