John Bradshaw - Work Hard
Something I find interesting about the book of Proverbs is the absolute abundance of references it contains to laziness, or at the same time, diligence. God very clearly believes in hard work; when He gave the Sabbath commandment for example, He referenced the six working days.
Not that God doesn't believe in leisure, no doubt He does, but look at Proverbs 26:14, one of four consecutive verses that deal with laziness. "As a door turns on its hinges, so does the lazy man on his bed".
Lazy people are always unhappy people. Successful people invariably got to where they are through hard work. If a person wants to get ahead in this world, regardless of their background, the path to success is the same: work hard, diligence, and integrity bring the blessing of God, and that brings real success.
