John Bradshaw - Can We All Get Along?
In Proverbs 6, seven things are said to be an abomination to God, among them, "...one who sows discord among the brethren." Verse 19.
It can happen with a word, a tale that is told, a false report, someone intentionally causing trouble among family, friends, or colleagues, or classmates. What kind of person intentionally causes strife among others? Grace strives for unity, it lifts people up, it loves truth, it can happen easily though and without a lot of effort.
Gossip for example, what do you think is going to happen when you tell a person C what person B did or said? Thoughtlessness or mean-spirited words can be divisive, the late Rodney King said during the LA riots in 1992, "Can we all get along"? The answer is "yes we can". Choosing not to sow discord, as the Bible writer put it, would be a great first step. I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written.
