John Bradshaw - Do Not Consent
Wisdom for today, Proverbs 1, verse 10, "My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not". There's a lot we can take from that verse. Earlier Solomon had said that the instruction of parents is like an ornament of grace, now as a parent he says that if someone entices you to sin you should not consent.
Temptation is everywhere but you don't have to consent. The devil didn't make you do it, it honestly didn't all get too much for you, and you absolutely did not get to your breaking point, you consented. Sometimes walk away, other times choose not to listen, on occasions be patient and take a deep breath, at all times pray and claim the promises of God.
You don't have to be taken down by temptation. God is powerful enough to deliver you and there's power in getting His word into your mind. When sinners entice you, don't consent. I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written.
