John Bradshaw - Start With Mercy
Most people admit that they lie and that's a problem because the Bible says that all liars shall have their part in the second death. So what do you do about that? Do you start with promising to never lie again? Full marks for intent, but that's not the place to start, because if you start there, you haven't addressed the issue, which is you're a liar, which is you're a sinner, which is you have a sinful heart.
So where do you start? You start with mercy. Paul wrote, "But God, who is rich in mercy because of his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)." Ephesians 2:4 and 5.
You don't have to look far to see your imperfections, and you don't have to look far to see Jesus. Start with mercy; when you do that, will change your life. I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written.
