John Bradshaw - Not Always Easy
God wrote in the Ten Commandments, "Honor your father and your mother". Exodus 20, verse 12. I've often been asked how you do that when your father or mother was a terrible person, not someone you would think of as deserving of honor. God didn't say "honor your father and mother accept in cases where..."
Your parents could be the worst people who ever lived, you still can honor them. That might not mean inviting them over at Christmas, but it does mean you show respect and live in a way that reflects well on them. The fact that someone has made poor decisions doesn't mean you don't honor them, in fact, that might make it more important that you show them respect, and show them Jesus.
Honor your father and mother, not always easy, I get that, but in spite of what sort of water has gone underneath the bridge, honoring your father and your mother is always the will of God. I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written.
