John Bradshaw - Miracles
God impressed the blessing of the Sabbath upon the minds of His people in some pretty spectacular ways. In the wilderness, God graciously gave Israel manna to eat, food in the desert. For 40 years the manna appeared six days a week, they were instructed to take only enough for one day, anything extra would spoil, but on what we call Friday today, they would have take twice as much, enough for that day and the Sabbath.
So, the manna came, that's miracle number one, on six days and not seven, that's miracle number two, and once a week they took extra and it would not spoil, miracle number three. Three miracles a week, 156 a year, 6,240 miracles over those 40 years, each one of them pointing to the blessing of the Sabbath. Jesus said in Mark 2: 27, "The Sabbath was made for man".
