John Bradshaw - They Jumped to Conclusions
As the Promised Land was being divided among the tribes of Israel, Reuben, Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh built an altar near the Jordan River. Joshua 22:12 says, "When the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up to war against them".
The 40 years they spent together in the wilderness were forgotten, as the large group decided the smaller group was in Rebellion against God. They didn't take the time to learn the facts of the situation, they jumped to conclusions, and when you do that massive misunderstandings often arise.
It's always better to learn the truth of a situation rather than go rushing in to judge another person's motives. If we can learn to pause and inquire, just take a breath, let some dust settle, a lot of strife would be avoided. I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written.
