John Bradshaw - The Cross

John Bradshaw - The Cross
TOPICS: Every Word, Cross

You see it everywhere these days, around necks, in cemeteries, on churches and every time, it can only mean one thing; the cross means the death of Jesus, and more really because shortly after He was taken from the cross and buried in Joseph's new tomb, He rose from the dead and then ascended to heaven.

The cross should move you because even though it was an instrument of torture, the place where the lowest criminals died an awful death, it's where Jesus gave His life to secure your pardon for sin, and this was the innocent One, described by Peter as the One, "who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth".

It was on a cross that the holy sinless Jesus died for your sins so that you could live free from sin's penalty and ultimately from its presence. Today remember the cross, where Jesus died, so you might live. I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written.
