Have you ever been lonely? Of course you have, but do you know what real loneliness is? You wonder why I ask, because this is loneliness: thirty-three years on earth misunderstood, even by family. After you've done nothing but good things your friends fail you and then abandon you in your hour of need.
When you're beaten, no one comes to your aid, you're unjustly prosecuted, condemned by the law for crimes you did not commit and then executed, rejected as a vile criminal bearing the weight of the sins of the world, and then as pain racks your body and anguish torments your mind, you call out to your own father saying, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Psalm 22:1.
Have you ever been lonely? That's lonely and Jesus went through that willingly to give you life beyond this life. Don't let Jesus' death be for nothing. I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written.
