John Bradshaw - Why Did Jesus Die?
Why did Jesus have to die? Life is only found in union with God, the life-giver. Sin separated humans from God and therefore brought death. The introduction of sin brought with it the introduction of death, but "God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son".
The penalty for sin couldn't be removed, so Jesus took that penalty Himself so you wouldn't have to. If you choose Him, His death stands for you so you don't have to die, but that's not fair is it? Of course it's not. The plan of salvation is not fair, at least not fair on God. Jesus paid the price, bore the pain and the shame, died the death so you wouldn't have to.
Man, you've got to respond to that don't you? Why did Jesus die? So that you don't have to; so you can live eternally. Choose Jesus and you choose eternal life. I'm John Bradshaw for It Is Written.
